Crystal Frags

On my Death Recap out of 5 abilities that killed me, Crystal Frags hit me for 4 times for 5-6k+ each.

Is this normal? Is it supposed to proc so often like this? I ain't got a Sorc, so.

It has a chance to instantly cast but lets be honest here it's just like WB were it says X seconds to cast but really it instantly.

I am a sroc and I have had c-frags proc back to back to back. I have seen it proc 4 times in a row one time. But there is a spell being cast in-between each proc.

So Crushing shock (c-frags procs)
cast instant c-frags
cast crushing shock(C-frags procs)

it should be something like that. There are plenty of spells that can proc c-frags so crushing shock is just example.

Cfrags doesn't always proc when you need it to, plus the glowy purple hands are a pretty clear indicator, lag notwithstanding. Just block it to avoid the knockdown and a lot of the dmg. WB on the other hand is kinda pointless to block cause know what its usually followed with? WB WB WB

I assume someone just casted it multiple times on you. Next time watch your opponent and use crushing shock (or any other interrupt) when he starts casting.

When it happened, it was in an instant, like an instant death, out-healable, etc

It was vs 4 other enemies, otherwise I'd have interrupted him for sure.

Go S+B, cast def stance and watch sorcs fall on their arse when they get hit by their own frag. Comedy value is priceless.

Hmm, weird, people are totally ok with crystal frags insane damage, but wb is bad?

@Alucardo I used to roll with Shield but I go for double swords for the extra spell damage. I'm not even sure if 2k+ SP is worth it in PvP anymore since I barely get a chance to get damage off when I'm trained by spammers.

Not really, OP was just asking what it was basically, not crying out for nerfs, hes not a whiner, unlike many on here.

Its RNG so it can. Its also not guaranteed to proc when u cast 4 spells b4 hand too

I'm not sure what you're trying to say because neither hard-casted frags nor WB hit instantly. The 1" cast time is very obvious to me in both cases. If I see someone trying to WB me I always have enough time to Streak through them to stun them.

And hard-casted frags a) cost more than procs b) do less dmg than procs c) are interruptible.

You can get lucky with procs since it's RNG. It's a 35% chance so getting 3-4 in a row is possible but highly unlikely. The animation of casting frags is some pretty obvious hand waving so you should be able to tell easily if it was procs or hard casts.

Yeah I gotta admit, DKs have it better when it comes to frag spammers with our wings. I've played sorc before and yes, frags procs constantly. I put it on both bars so it would proc no matter what spell I was casting, and I think it's something like a 40% chance? So even when they're buffing they can proc this bad boy.

Oh, and bro, you're not alone either. Keeping in mind this is on BWB, so around the 2.5k mark is decent damage for an insta cast spell with knock down effect

Besides the fact that you were getting crystal frags hard cast into your face there and there was nothing instant about any of them besides maybe the first and the last.

Actually the first one was a crit and I was being chased, so no one had time to hard cast frags. Glad you were there to see the whole thing though.

Problem is, all the FOTM Stam builds are wearing Medium or Heavy or a mix of both, and my Frags were lucky to crit for 4K in the IC. Of course, Stam builds get to block, too, without completely depleting their Stamina!

Wrecking Blow, on the other hand does 12K damage on Light Armor once your shield goes down. 12 FREAKIN' K!



I've NEVER seen my Frags hit this hard in PvP, and I've never been hit with one that hard, either.

That's a sneak attack. He stealthed and then did it. I know because I have hit people with sneak attack wrecking blows. Look at the other wrecking blows. It is not as powerful as everyone says. It is just as powerful as snipe and frags.

Also remember guys you can proc a Frag off of non-attacks. So in that chase comment, streak prob Proced it, surge prob proced it, ward... etc

In fact I start with a hard cast frag, then try and proc it with, curse, webs, surge, streak, encase, and ward. If you want you can keep up the offense and just use Frag when it procs.

Lol, quality name censoring there. The worst thing about WB is that it buffs your next attack by a considerate amount, so if that's another WB and it crits, and your shield is down.. ouch.

Its become, for me, my streak spam vs their WB spam, only difference is I don't have any attack that'll deal 11k damage. Yet alone 11k damage after 50% reduction. Yet yet alone immediately after 11k damage. Yet yet yet 11k damage that doesn't have a CC immunity...

Theres nothing wrong with things hitting hard if they are easily avoidable as frags and wrecking blow are.

Well its procs 35% of the time... it says so on the game... now that we got that taken care of...

The only OP ability, by itself, is WB. Therefore any thread discussing the effectiveness of any ability will become a WB thread, because no other single ability can compare.

Until something is done with CC immunity or WB, all ability threads will be about WB.

Aka no ability is OP as long as WB is around because any other abilities OPness pales in comparison to WB's OPness.
