    I just read up on monster play in the LOTRO wiki. yea... similar to that but not as a different character. I knew that there was some mmo that let you play as animals but I had forgotten which one it was.

    Wait, now that I think about it. I think I might have been thinking of the animal mode in GTAV. :lol:

    Vampire and Werewolves arent that? I agree this game needs more of those. I hope one day Necromancer, maybe Lich (Ideally for Sorcs) and maybe something cool for Templar characters, some Minor Angel go figure, when he one goes to Angel mode, he get wings and start floating. Lich could be some very slow turret-like thing, faster casting/shooting time etc

    Potential problem, 10+people in guild or party chat (console) waiting outside the cities or essential starting points (wayshrines in first island ect) making it next to impossible for low levels to do anything without help. unless combat is limited like only blank number of players can attack someone at a time I can see this becoming another PvP zergfest the only difference is NPCs being part of the zergs!

    Seriously though, I thought of this while writing the concept. The idea of a group of player creatures terrorizing a town or area of the countryside so that players must band together to eliminate the threat sounds AMAZING! This is why the player-creatures should be restricted to the level of the creatures in the zone, to prevent players who are doing this from being OP... I considered suggesting player-creatures start at the lowest level of a zone but thought that would put player-creatures at too much of a disadvantage.

    I actually think it would add a lot of flavor to the game.

    Yeah the idea is that you can take on the role of being one of the creatures or even bosses in the world that other players can come across. Not in PvP. That's why this is a very unique idea :)

    I remember the EQ play as PC/Mob and it was a lot of fun, and a lot of ppl complained till it was removed.
    The SWARM would wait to ambush lowbies at choke points and scatter when a higher lvl PCs showed up, Even seen the swarm take down some of the higher lvl ppl.
    I would like to see this feature added, but will require a lot of balancing so swarmers don't take over key areas of the map.
    Maybe a dungeon where ppl will know the Mobs are PC controlled.
    If they added this feature to a normal lowbie zone, 1st ones to complain would be the node farmers and the ppl trying to level/quest.

    It would be immersive to see some enemies in PvE that are not dumb robots and I am not trying to put down the Idea as I kinda like it (reminds me of the scripted spells Morrowind mod). but I have one fear, Zones that are almost empty and restricted by quest prerequisites IE cadwells zones craglorn being camped in especially if anyone can play as a boss. perhaps the potion can only work for 6 hours and the chance to see a boss potion in vendors is rare per character and only 1 potion can be purchased and used in that same time frame for that area until the vendor resets and the potion you have goes stale.

    LOL. That sounds magnificent! Well, I think a fix for that would be to have different zones start the player-creature at different levels. In starting zones, level 1 or 2. In the next couple of zones, have them start somewhere in the middle of the zone's mob levels. In the later Zones, have them start out as the highest Mob levels. In DLC zones, which are leveled, they would be whatever the battle-level is, or perhaps even lower.

    Additionally, the gold for the potions could be a factor. If the potions were more than 100 gold (lets say 5,000) players might be less inclined to waste a potion and might play more carefully. Probably not though. :lol:

    Are you saying that some player could go to PVE zones and gank some of them, as in form of a bear or wolf. Carebears wouldnt like that too much.

    That's why player creatures should be the level of the regular mobs in the zone. Make it so players have a chance.

    Well, playing as a Boss can only happen if a player-creature is continually successful. All player-creatures start out the level of the zone and should be as defeat-able as any other regular mob in the zone. I don't think players should be able to transmorph into boss creatures, so to speak, instead the player-creatures attains the power of a boss.

    Now... the idea of there being a small set of levels that they player-creature advances through resulting in the physical growth of a player creature so that eventually the player creature is as large and as powerful as a boss is a really interesting thought.... I like it!

    I don't see why this concept couldn't include passive animals too! But then... I'm not sure what "gameplay" options that would include. I wouldn't disagree with it being added just for fun though!

    Nope! No opt out. Just as you can't opt out of being attacked by npc creatures. Remember, these player creatures wouldn't be as powerful as their regular characters... not at first. :wink:

    Packs of player controlled mobs would gank newbies until they quit. And ESO would basically become a FFA PvP game.

    Make it only available in Cyrodill and I think we'd be fine.

    Takes more than the "D" word to make me enraged I know there are some people that may want to turn into something like MLP THAT would get rage from me. Besides one of those tiger people from Akavir turned into a dragon and I think he lives at that time (and was still alive in skyrim)

    And the wilderness will become a dangerous and scary place... sounds good to me! I think the mechanics I've outlined would be enough to prevent this from being an issue... but perhaps a cooldown would be in order. Maybe players have to wait like 30 minutes to transform after they die.

    I'll have to think about possibilities. :wink:
