Here's the thing. The forums are jam packed full of complaints and all the things the players don't like.

So, look at it this way.

1000 people complain about something. The Devs look at that and say, gee, we better change that because 1000 people hated it.

Unfortunately, the 20,000 people who hadn't hated whatever it was, now have their noses out of joint.

However, how would the Devs KNOW about the 20,000 people who loved whatever aspect of the game gets changed because there are not many threads about what we love about the game until it's all too late.

Can we get some balance here and also make positive posts about the stuff we really like - BEFORE we lose it?

I challenge you all to post the 10 things you love MOST about this game without a negative comment.

I like that I've spent every other day since June in Tamriel and never once felt forced to run a dungeon for better gear, and that I've been able to compete in Vet PVP since day 1.

Basically both things are often reported as OMGIMPOSSIVLLLLRLLBSHSH!!!

Also being a Templar is fun, and I seem to use only skills that people think are useless like Practiced Incantation.

TLDR: I enjoy everything that I'm not supposed to if you read these forums.

OK, I'll start a list of things I think are great.
The amount of choice we have about the type of character we can build from race and gender to psychopath to hero.
Provided we're willing to work and earn money for it, there's a massive amount of storage available.
The fast travel system, especially that you can fast travel from anywhere, including inside, if you need to.
    Respec, if you want.
The detail of the graphics, the game is stunning.
The horse is truly usable. Some games it's almost uncontrollable.
The maps are clear and simple.
You can leave a quest in the middle and return to it later, no problem.
You can pick up a bunch of quests and they don't bug if you don't do them immediately.
You can do things in the wrong order and it doesn't matter.
Crafting is simple. And earns XP.
You can repair and revive on the go without having to return to base.
It's an MMO but you can pretty much solo the whole thing, if you want.
    That's a start.

That's not how the development cycle works. Every time they nerf something, it's because it was objectively strong from in-game data. You're part of a massive LIVE testing group and when they see that 90% of DKs are using a single specific ability in every situation that is killing the diversity of builds, they are likely to fix that. That's not to say some things aren't more universal than others... some of the underpowered elements are merely rarely used.

Overnerfs occur when developers change multiple strong things at once. Stamina too strong? Nerf. Blocking too strong? Nerf. Shields too strong? Nerf. Builds that rely on stamina blocking with shields are now super nerfed as a result. It's purely accidental due to the incompetence generated from 50 people working on the same game. This is multiplied when issues are outsourced because then the team working on the problem has no idea what other problems are tied to it.

Complaining on the forum does only one thing: Raise Awareness. When more people on the forum are aware of an issue, they are likely to exploit, report, or mimic it. This leads to developers seeing a rise in their reports of the issue and may even get it to become a higher priority. Complaints that are actually READ by the dev team can also directly influence this process by explaining in detail what's wrong and why it's wrong, but you better have solid reasoning if you expect this approach to even be considered.

If devs ACTUALLY listed to complaints, the games would be balanced by the trolls and you'd know it instantly. EVE Online suffers from this problem where the council had far too much control over the game.

    1. I like the Champion System.
    2. I like that I can find gear and overwrite its enchantment to suit myself.
    3. I like how Dark Anchors look and feel.
    4. I like that the quests in this game try to avoid the "Quest Hub" design from past MMOs.
    5. I like the voice acting because without it I'd most likely skip the dialog.
    6. I like that I can enter a Group Dungeon solo, duo, trio or full with players of any level.
    7. I like that there are chests of varying difficulty scattered throughout each zone.
    8. I like the Combat system.
    9. I like that the Guild Trader system allows me to buy things without needing to join a Guild.
    10. I like that Crafting has a lot of options in terms of styles and item sets.

    Achievement unlocked: Eternally Optimistic.

Lots of great things about the game. A few favorites come to mind:

-Game is built for an explorer at heart. There are so many places to explore and vistas to visit. Nothing like discovering locked chests hidden in nooks and crannies, lore books galore, pretty fishing spots, etc. Game is gorgeous and has lovely music (although I want to shoot the composer of Red Diamond, lol)

-I like the crafting system with the ability to research items, craft armor to various different looks and traits, etc. The dye system is fantastic as well.

-Class system is really neat. You really can be whatever you want to be. I love having the freedom to build my character however I want.

-I like the questing system and running across quests. The lack of heavy quest hubs is a great thing.

Great point and idea! 10 things hmmm....
    • The environments! Beautiful and varied scenery!
    • The creatures! Great designs for the creatures you fight, as well as passive ones.
    • Armour dyes! I was amazed when I first discovered this!
    • Lighting and atmosphere. All of this is perfect.
    • Crafting system. Not as hard to understand as I thought it would be.
    • Mounts and pets! Yes!
    • Concept art in loading screens. Always nice to see.
    • Fun silly quests that are short; they are not all serious and long quests! This changes things up nicely.
    • Werewolf! I'm so happy that werewolves are in the game and you can be one. Even more awesome is the white morph!
    • And last but not least, character creation was way more intricate than I thought it would be before I got the game!

    1. Real-time combat, with active dodge, block and attacks and not having to click buttons on my screen and watch character do stuff.
    2. Lack of UI clutter; this is huge for me.
    3. I like the group dungeons and think they are some kick*** content.
    4. I love the level of graphical detail and visual/sound immersion in an online persistent game.
    5. I love that there is a lot of different types of content, and a lot to do in PVE.
    6. I like that I can define my character pretty much however I like.
    7. I love that I can experiment with my build, and try various things and keep honing what I am doing, enough to solo group dungeons with some success.
    8. I like that there are various styles of armor / crafting complexity.
    9. I like finding random encounters (delves, random quest givers out in the wilderness, campfire people, camps).
    10. I love that exploration is actually meaningful in this game, unlike other MMOs, where I can happen upon things of interest without needing to pick up the quest in advance.

I like the fact that so many people lie and said this is nothing like Skyrim and everyday I play in feel like I'm playing Skyrim but better.
Love the Online aspect where u can play and connect socially with millions of people around the world.
Love the character creation that is full of opportunities to get what you are looking for as a character.
Love the look that is dropped from every other character which is mostly stuff u need or can use.
Love the perks given as a ESO member.
I love the fact that every dungeon is exciting and mysterious and pushes the boundaries of what will be around the next corner.
I enjoy the the fact that the game is full of quest and lore at every corner.
I love with the DLC patches that all skills are reset giving you the opportunity to make ur character something new and exciting.
I enjoy the many NPC you meet on the way through the game..

I like it because I can ignore the classes and play Werewolf Online.

Wish someone made an MMO that didn't have classes. Just a bunch of different types of monsters you can play as.

Npcs that make you like them. Raz and Naryu, I'm looking at you.

The humor you find tucked away in odd corners and quests.

Quests that actually touch you sometimes like the elderly gay male couple you find while on the Wilderking quest.
I never pass by those guys without stopping for a moment of respect. Which leads to...

Representing diversity in a matter-of-fact way.

    Awesome group dungeons

The Craglorn open air delves, especially the Skywatch area. Absolutely beautiful, it's a shame more people don't see them.

Being able to craft and mix and match styles to suit me.

    Great dye system.

The chests and little hidden away camps and scenes you find in out of the way places.

Khajiits...I want to take one home.

My favorite voice actor from Skyrim, who I was very pleased to find here voicing Shalidor, Eboric Direfrost and several other random npcs.

The Action Combat. I don't know if I'll ever be able to play a CD management/tab target game like LOTRO ever again.

    Okay 10 things.

1-the way the fennic fox twitches it's ear. The animation is so well done for that I keep wanting to pet it.
2-The horrible squishy/oozie noise that assassin bugs make when they die.
3-The fact that chickens flee from my guar when I ride it through windhelm
4-the fact that I can mix and match any style of armor on my character
5-the fact that when I do loot one of those coolo skull destruction staffs, it's the level of my character
6-Unexpected streams of sunlight in so many dungeons illuminating little corners and plants.
    7-Raz' sarcasm
    8-Gibbits
9-The way Sergeant Firion (might be spelling her name wrong) twirls her axe after fighting (Kenarthi's Roost quest).
10-The fact that my summoned Twilight matriarch gets bored, drifts down corridors when I'm not looking, and starts fights. It gives her more personality.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Cities just feel larger and more vibrant compared to both Oblivion and Skyrim (kinda unfair to judge alongside Morrowind).

    The world looks nice

    The UI

Able to access all guild shops

Better looking Dunmers and Bretons compared to Skyrim

    Always a sense of progression

    Dolems still sound epic

Better quests than both Oblivion and Skyrim

Watching a group of players having an epic party in major cities from time to time

Also, thanks for making pets, horses and companions so sturdy - I remember trying to keep Lydia and a dog alive throughout Skyrim was pretty stressful but if you left them at home, they got cobby.
I think the dog left home in the end, with me running after him shouting 'come back, I just didn't want you to die and you won't sit when I tell you to'.
Seem to remember getting through a horse or two.
    So, excellent upgrade, thank you.

Probably won't find ten things, but here goes.

    1) It's still a visually stunning game. Easily the best looking MMO out there.
    2) Combat is still fun. I rarely use my ability bar. Basic attacks/heavy attacks FTW.
    3) It's still easy to get around without a mount.
    4) I still don't have a single add on, and the game is still functioning.
    5) ............I got nothing else. Sorry.

Managed to get halfway there? There's far more I dislike about the game. The cons outweigh the pros at the moment, I'm afraid. Perhaps that's why I only log in about once a week anymore, as opposed to daily pre-justice system.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.
