    Even if they put a cap the cap will eventually have to be removed. They need to determine the power of CP at at various levels to determine the ideal spots and the problematic spots. This way they can appropriately accelerate the low end, moderate the mean (which should be the focus level for dungeons) and decelerate the high end.

    Or make seasonal caps while accelerating the low end and moderating the mean and decelerating the high end. ....without using the crown store.

    225 at VR1 (for 75 in each tree)
    +30 PER Vr lvl gain
    That means 705 at Vr16

    Implementing a cap alone will not help new players . A catch up mechanism would need to be implemented in tandem. ZOS will need to figure out how, but I suspect something like if you have under x CP, you earn them X faster.

    EDIT: ZOS already said they expected this issue to arise, so we know they view it as a problem. I think they envisioned that enlightenment would help, but it seems that to them, its not done enough.It will affect any competitive sphere for players(both PVP and PVE- speed runs etc), since having eg 20% extra health /stamina/ magicka means you will probably die less, do more damage and run out of resources less.

    Honestly if you grind them out, and spend all that time on them, you should be godlike in pve, but if you do so, most likely you'll get bored
    But pvp should be skill not time grinded, unless you want to all be gods so then a campaign with cp enabled
    Earning the best gear in pve requires grinding
    So what's the problem with grinding cp to get better pve gear quicker

    Remove from pvp, keep in pve
    Let the PvE'ers have it but disable in PvP. Infinite resources and huge attribute stacks create problem builds and people cry for nerfs.

    Every PvE'er should be clamoring to have CP disabled in PvP. It would decrease the amount of nerf threads that come up and get skills they use with no problem nerfed in PvE because someone abuses them in PvP.

    PvP combat is a game of resources. If you run out of resources, you die. CP makes it so you can have infinite resources. If you have unlimited resources, then you need cooldowns on skills. Cooldowns suck. Read the "root of the problem" article posted in my sig if you havent. Its a great explanation of this.

    I am honestly starting to think Zos are running a combo of the first and last option. Sure...theres been talk about cp free campaigns and caps...but its all talk. When will we finally see steps taken? Right now, I am thinking Zos simply do not believe such steps are needed. A shame...because I am beginning to not care as much about the game myself now. There are just too many good games out there right now for a casual gamer to enjoy and Zos don't seem interested in casual gamers Imo.

    Yep! I think Zos should shut up and get to work fixing it...

    I don't think they should remove it though, all the artwork is there now. I like the idea of a cap. It would be nice if they could tie it in with a call to arms system on the group finder to encourage people to use that too.

    CP should be kept as is, with a slight twist. The maximum values need to be reduced (25% down to 15%, those that have 15% down to 8%). The contribution towards stats (health, stamina, magicka) need to be fixed numbers, nothing percentage based and in the range of 10 CP earn the equal amount of H/M/S you got for one veteran level (30).

    Then put in a cost increase for gaining CP higher than server average, with strong diminishing returns, so that people with twice the average need to farm 20 times as much XP for a single point. I was very much for accelerating gains for low CP but on a second thought, that would just worsen the issue.

    That would be my proposal.

    I would like it removed from PvP as you can already get enough advantage from gear. on top of that add a catch up mechanic and a cap is also needed and will probably be pretty damn high still giving those that have been grinding since the system came out with those who just got veteran or can only play casually.

    soft cap should be implemented , 120 points in thief, warrior, mage after you reach 120 points in thief, warrior and mage you lose gain by 25%, 50 % all way up to 99%. 0-120 no loss you can either focus in one area or fill 3 spots but after you put 120 points you start losing gains.

    This whole CP thing has been blown way outta proportion. CP points bring greatly deminishing returns so only the first few hundred even matter. Even still, like me, guys with less than 100 can still be competitive.

    Your level and your gear make a huge difference. These guys that cry about CP are the same guys who are not putting time into their build. I guarantee if a guy gets recked in PVP now hell get wrecked in PVP if they remove CP because his build is garbage. If your not VR 14+ theres your first problem. Once there you should be hitting at a minimum 2500 spell damage or 3000 weapon damage; or your build is trash. Get the proper set pieces for your build and temper them purple or gold(this will require, reasearch, crafting, farming, grinding, shopping all the guild stores weekly, and lots of gold). Understand what trait you want on your grear, it can make a big difference. Slap some purple or gold glyphs on your gear(did you take the time farm runes and level up your enchanting?). Choose the right boon. Craft some purple tri stat food (youll need to level up your provisioning). Craft some tri pot power potions (gonna have to farm flowers and level up your alchemy too). "Buy" all the propper passives for you build(start farming those sky shards). In general stack magicka or stamina (depending on your build) and stack spell damage or weapon damage (depending on your guild). Research builds on the internet then play with them and tweak them( more grinding and leveling up skills you don't have). There is alot of work that goes into making a good build and good builds aren't just for elite players. Part of the "content" in this game is making builds. If you skip that it is just like skipping the entire story, you won't know what's happening on the battlefield and you will blame anything you can, in this case champ points.

    A final note, there is no God build (except emporer), your going to get beat up once in while no matter what so if you expect to run through groups of enemy players like they are mobs of weak monsters you are going to be very disappointed. When you run across someone who is just better than you all you have to do is grab some randoms and go beat his butt.

    When people say learn to play this is the stuff they are talking about. Its become the common insult to be thrown around the forums but seriously put the time in so you can start recking guys and then theyll come to the forums to cry about how overpowered you are.

    Your friends are wrong. I have VR8 and about 70 CP. I also have over 1400 career PVP kills despite being a healer and only PVPing about 5 hours a week. The number of VR16s (the people most likely to have high CP totals) that I've melted over the last 2 weeks has to be north of 50. Only the first 300 or so CP matter. Everything else is extraneous.

    Loose "but... champion points!" excuse.

    ...cry about it...
    ...
    Accept it.

    And then you can either work on getting better, or just find your joy in getting small success despite being barely adequate.


    The poll is missing the option I would favor though - expand the champion system upwards ba adding another 2400 points worth to it, add some catchup mechanics giving low CP players more CP, and some slowdown mechanics giving high CP players less CP...
    I mean, if, say, people from 0-300 cp got quadruple enlightment, and those from 301-600 double, while those from 601-900 as usual, and those from 901-1200 get no enlightment at all while those 1201 and above even earn c-points at only half rate... and then every three months they raise those numbers with the newest DLC...

    Then the newbies would catch up much faster, and the whole thing would be much less of an scarebear issue then it is right now...

    It's almost linear. 100 CP gives you a ~24% bonus to X. This includes:
      Damage Taken Damage Given Shields Break Free/Roll Cost Regen Ability Cost Much More
    The advantage is enormous.

    I will repeat:
    Just because people without jobs, families, or social lives can play 10 more games of chess than you or I can each day, doesnt mean they should start each game with 4 queens.

    All they are doing is AOE grinding NPCs with EXP pots. Why should this provide such a large advantage in PvP?

    Thank you for proving my point about deninishing returns. The graph clearly shows deminishing returns over the specified range (a few hundred CP).

    There is no reason to try and attack me personally. We may disagree but please try and be civil as I have.

    No, it doesnt support your argument.

    You max out a star with 100 CP. There are many with 12 to 15 stars maxed out. All the best stars. I can see that you dont have any experience with these players, but the problem is getting worse, and your arguments are naive.

    My preferred option is not even a choice: keep the same but remove attribute increase for CP spent
