He's likely attending the idea that the UI is barebones by default and shows almost no information to the player. This is typical of an Immersion RPG. A game like Final Fantasy where you can see the exact damage, health bars, time till your next turn, character turn order, etc is an Information RPG.

The information is visual rather than the standard numeric info mmo players are used to... I commend ZOS for displaying this info in a different manner. But yes, it makes it borderline impossible to min/max and to test your build. I do sympathize with old school mmo players in that regard.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I'd have gone for Immersion back when I first started playing and leveling up through Tamriel, but months later, I'm quite sick of not having any knowledge of the damage I'm doing. I feel blind. I was so used to seeing my damage on games like Runescape and World of Warcraft through the years, so that's one big thing that bugs me about this game, on console.

If this is in regards to adding more the the UI...

I choose "Other" because it depends on my mood. ESO is advertised as being a "freedom of choice" MMO, so it should be obvious that those who like and what to stick with the minimalist UI should be able to. We can hide helmets, horse addons (now), ect so this should not be an issue. Those of us who like see the buff timers, how much DPS we're doing, ect should also be able to.

Don't assume. Some people just like playing with a "immersion" feel. They shouldn't have to use an addon to remove elements just like we shouldn't have to use addons to give us much needed information.

Information because it's an mmorpg not a rpg.

PNP literally requires you to have volumes of information handy. I still have cheat sheets of economic data, culture, topography, and climate information that I used for a lot of sessions. Really it all boils down to how much information you need. The UI definitely needs more customization, but the result needs to be flexible on both ends.

    I choose Neutral.

I like immersion, but it's in the eye of the beholder. Some people considered Fast Travel in the later ES games "immersion-breaking". I'm not one of those people. How far you choose to suspend your disbelief in media rests solely on you.

However, I find it amusing when I enter a dungeon, only to follow a trail of dead bodies leading to a skyshard and ending at a small group "camping" the boss for the loot/achievement.

I really enjoy having to find out the numbers my self, it adds a whole other level to theory crafting and testing. I really love knowing the numbers, and that's what I want. But I want to figure it out for myself, when I'm out there comparing skills, drawing graphs and tables, that's my research and I want it to stay that way unless I choose to share it with others.

If you want to know something you can go figure it out for yourself or just ask someone, thats part of the fun ^^

What I would like is to restore some of the old old API so we can create these addons instead, that would be good indeed.

Will it? Okay then, I choose Morrowind. It provided copious amounts of immersion and just enough information, with nice descriptive clues (sometimes a little misleading, I admit), past quest log, an aesthetically pleasing map, a minimap, buff icons and resizable menus you could lock on the screen.

Skyrim had a map not showing roads, that's how informative it was.

You doing PvP? You want information. Unless you're a suicidal freak.

I love suicidal freaks, mind you.

No one bats an eye in PvE, outside trials that is.

Can we have both? Yes we can. Considering the lack of addons in the console version, give the option to show more, or give consoles addon support.

It's rigid statements like this, or the opposite 'but my immersion' that are problematic.
