So in order to PVE you have to PVP?

So if you want to PVE now you have to go to the over populated/laggy PVP area and grind mobs to get gear to do new content, that is all in that area.

Here's a question for you Zeni: What if I don't really care for pvp?

Not sure you though this all the way through....

You can play the dungeons without going into the IC area, and just porting to the dungeons themselves.

There isn't any PVE content that can't be done without going into PvP. Really nothing has changed. In 1.6 what PVErs actually bought their Cyrodiils light, Ravager, Morag's Tong, and Shadow Walker gear with their own AP? Most people bought those items with gold. You can do the exact same thing with the new PvP gear in 2.1.

Do the same as PVP'ers are forced to do with stuff like VR12 Warlock rings, buy the gear from someone who does the content that you don't like.

I'm sorry that they don't only release content that caters to people who only enjoy 1 specific aspect of their game.

IC has been by far the most fun I've had since launch. I enjoy both PvE and PvP, and they found an excellent way to mix the two together. Why do some people feel that they need to label themselves a certain way and make it sound like anything that doesn't fit their interest is a giant waste of resources?

Maybe some of you don't understand what 'content' is. Content is not: I got hawt lootz. Or doing the same dungeon over and over and over.

I enjoy exploring. I enjoy doing quests. I don't enjoy doing pvp.

And I'm not alone in this.

Except you level to V16 without buying the IC DLC and all of the 'exact same content' dungeons will scale with you.

The only thing you'd be buying would be the 2 new IC dungeons.

Content is addition to the current game.

Content can include something added to the store, like a new horse. It can be a single new quest. It can be a single NPC placed in the middle of the Alik'r desert. Just because the content they sold isn't what you want, doesn't make not content.

Content includes anything that is added to the game.

Just because you're not alone in this, doesn't mean people like you are the only ones that play the game.

If you can get over your hatred of running into members of the posing factions (in a game that was advertised with a 3-way war at it's center), the IC sewers especially are incredible to explore. They are HUUUGGGGEEEE!!!, and with a lot of challenging boss encounters along the way. If you really enjoy PvE the way you say you do, I don't know how you wouldn't enjoy at least some of what IC offers, including 2 brand new dungeons.

It sounds like you lost some stones once and got butthurt. We all are going to lose stones/fights in IC, that's the nature of the zone. It's all in good fun though, risk vs reward. And if running into other players is that big of a turnoff, Orsinium probably isn't far off.

Now you know how PvPers feel.

Personally, I like both. But I could understand their pain at Cyrodiil giving the experience that it did (though paradoxically, PvEing in Cyrodiil gave pretty good XP), and the road to max level being so long.

Quite the opposite. In order for me to get dropped sets I have to PVE in IC. I hate Ai controlled dps fights where I have to pretend I'm good at a game by hitting buttons in sequence, moving out of fire every 12 seconds on biblical timing, and moving back in.. My god... Devs.... watch sypher videos and then make a pve encounter that mimics his actions, while also exploiting every bug exploit in game. Give it double mundus while not wearing the gear, give it sharpened exploits, simulate a macro player and have it drop 5 abilities on a players in .05 of a second... Then give them BIND ON PICKUP...

Other wise let it be sold on merchants.

Ps.. after the fight.. Have the mob send crappy excuses why it can hit you 5 times in a row with heavy hits and channeled abilities before the 5 other mobs can hit you one time, even through they are all on you.

But they did! They knew all to well exactly what they was doing. They put the new PvE grind and new crafting stuff behind the PvP door. The bios PvP developers want more fresh meat to easily gank and grieve. They know that PvE people hardly group up to do anything so they will almost always be solo and be pathetically easy pray for them to exploit. Also it was a push to also get PvE'ers to buy their DLC.

I get your post but I think there are ppl who PvP who differ as well.
I think it's good for PvP folks to be able to do things other than just take keeps, PK, Zerg or camp PK.

It's a balance so perhaps the design is unclear but I get your point.

There's plenty of PvE to do in the base patch depending on what you like to do.

I don't consider myself a PvPer, but I've been to IC (mainly the sewers) and thought it was quite fun. It really doesn't matter much if an enemy player can kill you, when the Patrolling Horrors can one-shot you fare more easily.

I have not tried the new dungeons yet, and I'm looking forward to doing the "old" group dungeons at V16.

But you really don't need to buy the DLC if you don't want to. This was always meant to be a PvP-oriented update, and the PvPers were starving for content. The next update will be PvE-oriented, so if you wish, just save your crowns for that one.

@nihonseanb14_ESO I haven't seen anyone say this yet so ill say it here. This, to me, is an obvious move away from crafting the best gear towards not buying gear but buying mats for the best gear (Crown Store).

With mats that take forever to get also requiring thousands of mats for one set or thousands of TV stones for a full set... its as much of a grind as CP's are themselves.

Everyone was crying about the extra VR they had to earn and I'm sure some folks at ZoS were snickering at those posts thinking to themselves wait till they see what it takes to make a set of VR16 armor heh heh.
