a point to consider when weighing up the whole losing stones feedback in IC.

folk who seem relatively ok with losing chunks of stones in IC on the PTS might feel very different when its actually hurting them for real.
after all the PTS means nothing , its gambling with someone else's money.

Once it goes live and it really is your hard earned time thats getting wasted in the blink of an eye from a sneaky gank or whatever. You can expect any amount of negative feedback you get now to be magnified pretty severely.

just worth bearing in mind when revisiting how its all being recieved.

    Add in that the casual demographics of the game population don't go to the PTS.....

    The *** will be epic and go down in MMO history.

    This is not DayZ, Eve or Darknes Falls (the mmo), where people knew about player loot before they signed on to the game. This is a system trust upon a game that didn't have this game element until now.

    Things are going to get really ugly and the DLC will cost them a lot of revenue.

    agree with this, there are some fairly impactful and purely negative changes that once it hits live will bring much rage and negativity onto the forums.
    ESO player since beta.
    previously full time subscriber, beta-2024, game got too disappointing.

    Yes and if we are quick like Khajiit with stolen Sweetrolls we will be able to screencap epic forum replies/ragequits to such said losses. Going to make a Collage out of those!!!

    At the company level, Im expecting that they will probably have to lay some people off, shift people around, and cut back to one Twitch episode a month and only give away 1 random tee shirt, Not the size you need, at random.

    This is the most ultimate nerf patch update I have ever seen for a game...... Ever. Completely gamebreaking. Eso Endgame.

    I got my stones ganked for the first and last time tonight. I wasn't pissed because, like the OP said, it ain't for real yet. But I can tell you right now that the IC streets are no place for a solo grinder. The same zerg-or-die dynamic that plagues Cyrodiil also plagues IC. If I ever go up there again, I won't be carrying any stones!

    The Sewers, on the other hand, aren't as bad, at least not yet. It's possible to grind the sewers in relative peace most of the time. I've only had to chase off a solo ganker a couple of times, and I was able to carry on grinding without any problems. These solo sewer gankers are quite skittish, and tend to run away if they can't take you down on the first hit.

    Even though I HATE the player-looting mechanic, I won't be griping about it for the rest of PTS. I don't think ZOS has any intention whatsoever of reverting this dynamic based on PTS grumbling. Anyway, there will be plenty of time to gripe in earnest once 2.1 goes Live!

    Yeah. I get this will help create the competitive nature of who controls IC and also how ownership passes from one Alliance to another

    I would prefer they limit the loss to 75-80% of your stones.

      Imho TVS can be farmed incredibly safely:

      Do the daily quests, die as often as you want.
      Get 300 Stones per Quest as a rewards, get the rewards in a safe zone and deposit it to your bank.
      This alone will get you ~2 V15 items per char per day (and a V16 item in about 5 days). Bought or crafted through mats.

      What's really dangerous is running around with tons of stones in order to have a high multiplier. I guess this could be very efficient farming but it really has a high risk. If you want to do it nevertheless, better know you're in for a dangerous game.

      A thing i dislike is that getting a PvP kill for many stones can often be cached out relatively easy: Just suicide to mobs and pay teh little fee. Further I don't think the multiplier effects player kills (not 100% sure). If this doesn't, it's by far the biggest flaw: gankers have pretty much nothing to lose. They can stay until they get one bigshot, suicide (or TP out) depending on if you got more or less than 2500TVS (-20% for death, 500 stones for port) and deposit everything.

      TBH I'd really prefer "x% lost on kill + no bank available" over the current "100% lost but banked stones are safe". If that's not possible, add a maximum amount you can loot from a kill that depends on your own stone count (e.g. you can at most get twice as many stones form an enemy as you carry yourself)

      The 6 story quests plus the final quest in the story is in total 2800 stones and the daily only gives you 80 stones per quest so 480 per day. Its not a lot at all but even when there was a lot of ppl on the PTS I had no problem gainin large amounts of Stones, lost several thousands as well, but the intensity of the fights were great and I had a ton of fun. Though something to note, IC is by no means Solo friendly at all. I only got a lot of points because I was in a 12 man group that all used TS. 4 of the main quests you can technically solo if you can sneak around well enough, but 2 of them are impossible to solo because of big boss fights and lots of adds. Keep that in mind. Though there was this one area in the EP starting sewers that was pretty secluded that I grinded a few thousands stones in without any interaction from enemy players, only problem is that the more ppl that use the place the less stones you get and since its so close to base ppl will run through it constantly. All in all I'm not worried about stones on PTS nor Live, cause if I can just get the gear I want right of the bat then whats the point, then its just the 2 dungeons that will in short time be just as over played as the rest.

      They plan to have an 80% loss rate for next pts patch as stated on ESO live
