Templar changes for Puncturing Strikes? Also, Purifying Light irregularity

So I noticed nothing about removing the cc effect on Puncturing Strikes and its morphs. Is there a reason for this? Pretty sure every Templar was in favor or indifferent to this proposal. It is nothing more than detrimental in both pve and PvP.
Also, I noticed Purifying Light was adjusted - does this now apply the ultimate buff when healing allies who have the buff? The idea of normalizing ultimate gains was to make it easy to understand and remove out of combat abuse. I see no reason why this spell shouldn't follow the trend of applying the buff.

    Templar changes in general seem to be rather unimpressive. Most of the fixes and upgrades are welcome, but the class that needs the most help by a very large margin is changed least of the four in this patch. With the buffs the others got ( Nightblades...You have to be kidding ? ) the gap will probably be even larger than before.

    Yes its really frustrating. Even the promised takeaway GCD from Templar charge isnt there.
    The first impresions arent nice at all from Temp perspective.
    And there will be tons of unkillable Sorcs and perma invis NBs.
    If it stays like that it could be the end of this for me....

    Not any more. Based on my question yesterday in the 2.1 patch notes thread, Gina clarified that Lotus Fan's initial hit is now the same as the damage from unmorphed Teleport Strike :)

    Well, the did nerf RD and at the same time created a bug that keeps the ability from critting. That made an impression. But yes, generally, it was kind "meh". Now when you consider that my VR14 Templar is also an Argonian, the patch notes for her are really disappointing. :tongue:

    ZOS tried to remove the CC on puncture a while back and they found that doing so broke the class at low level. They also found that without that ability as it was at launch the Templars would rebel in mass. Thus there has been no change and wont be in the near future. Now the ultimate gain from purifying light is not from that ability but rather from the dawns wrath line passive. Every time you cast a dawns wraith ability while in combat you gain 3 ultimate. You also gain minor damage buff and each of the dawn wraith abilities has a minor or major buff they apply. This is not bad although they could increase the damage of those abilities considerably.

    Not convinced by that excuse. 0.5s cc being removed is not going to break someone regardless of level. Leaving a bad mechanic in place based on supposed issues it caused some n00bs is hardly reasonable.

    As for Purifying Light, Its not the gain via Dawns Wrath I am concerned about. It is the fact the spell causes aoe healing around the target, healing allies who have the ultimate gain buff (the one from light attacking) is supposed to grant the healer said buff (as if they themselves have made a light attack). It does not currently do that and there is no real reason why.

    I actually like the new change to puncturing strikes Templars don't have the mobility like other classes do so you want to keep the fight at you which this will do (70% movement speed) and if classes try to escape such as the sorc and nightblade you can toppling charge the sorc while jab the nightblade to stop him from getting away. Also it stops you from cc them with jabs which I think it better because you can then use your toppling charge to put them down or use eclipse. Not 100% sure what's happening to Purifiyng light though

    @Ryankiin

    Dude there lots of Templar threads in this forum. Why would you choose to necro one from 7 months ago? All the posters above you are talking about different stuff than you are.

    The change to puncturing strikes is a good one for Templars. We needed a way to slow the pace of combat, and we needed the CC immunity removed from jabs.

    In theory both of these issues are fixed now by removing the knockback and adding a snare. Using Toppling Charge or Javelin you will better be able to setup a CC > Burst combo.
