It's not 100% PvP if NPC mobs are involved. If you don't want to do it, don't. Wait for your PvE update or something.

The shock is not IC is a pvp area. The shock is they allow other players to kill you and loot you. That was not expected. The killing part yes it was. Not the looting everything you earned part. I mean what game has that kind of nonsense anymore?

Hahahaha omg! You really form the ideas from nowhere. Of course, it was part of the game play. I think it was talked in Zeni´s Twitch.tv when they talked about the upcoming IC. If you had paid any attention you would have known this. Makes you more aware when an enemy loots your corpse. This feature is great and should never be changed.

I just want to know what's so horrible about PvPers being forced to PvE. As they say, it should be a cakewalk. Zoom through new content, back to murdering other players as opposed to monsters.

As opposed to us PvEers being forced to PvP to do anything. Even to get to IC. I can't PvP for health reasons -- it is very high-stress (even when I'm just sneaking in the wilderness of Cyro) and my doctor has recommended I avoid that kind of stress if I can. That isn't most people's problem, I know, but it is mine.

This is going to get me called a carebear, I know it. Keep in mind that those who call others carebears for the crime of not wanting to PvP are revealing more about themselves than others.

So I ask you. What is so bad about PvE? I'm genuinely curious.

I was referring to the comments earlier in the thread about the (presumably pure PvE) Wrothgar/Orsinium being such a horrible thing for PvPers, and was making the point that making a new PvE zone is NOT the equivalent of making a new PvP zone, just for different people.

Isn't it refreshing that a game finally moves away from the carebear easymode style of play and introduces a gameplay mechanic that makes death actually matter more than a 20 second horse ride (at most)?

Just don't even go there if you can't handle that little bit of risk..

Screw "risk". YOU like to PVP. YOU like this patch. FINE. I'm glad for you.
    *I* bloody hate it. PERIOD.
HOWEVER, I am SO frickin' hungry for new content, I wanted to try it.

After the HUGE disappointment in Craglorn (can't do squat unless you're in a group - LFG for QUESTING???!?! That's just stupid), I wanted to do something new.

After the HUGE delay due to consoles, I just want to do new content.

Now the new content means I have to be a sacrificial lamb to the zerging 12-year-old per-adolescent kids hyped up on Red Bull.

And thanks to the FRICKIN' abolishment (nerf? that's too conservative of a word. Abolishment!) of stamina regen for tanks, I can't even enjoy running the daily pledges. NO ONE wants to tank them now. If it was bad getting a group together before, it's bloody impossible now.

Just... just please go f.o. ZoS

You can DPS mobs in the wild, mobs and bosses in dungeons....

I don't get it when people that PvP make the counter argument.

Just want to throw in here, they designed IC quests for groups of at least two. Even if there were NO PVP in Cyro, you would most likely have to group it.

Its worse than Crag, because these NPCs are more like the NPCs outside of the mines/delves, casters and melee.

I'm patiently waiting for Orsinium. It's PvE and it may be the only dlc I'll get. I'll miss out on the sky shards, new armour, weapons and mats. I don't like it and will simply have to wait.

Mind you, I'm starting to lose interest fast. The up and coming super nerfs will make it damn near impossible for me to play.

I too am so starved for some new content... and so i decided to go into IC but within a couple of hours of getting zero accomplished, and ganked over and over again, i just felt miserable and logged out. And yeah.. with the stamina nerfs for tanks, my husband quit, along with a few tanks in our guild too. Its like, you don't even want to log in and play anymore, and yet at the same time, you wanna play. I always liked this game a lot, but being an average player, with zero pvp skills... i guess i have to just wait for the next dlc. Will that also be group content? its becoming to a point you can't do anything solo once you hit a certain level. Never did any quests in Craglorn either, and i heard in future they will bring more 4 man group zones.. Good grief, really?

I think it's awesome that ZOS devs made a gutsy decision to allow players to loot each other's TVS. It really is cool. It's not nonsense. It's kind of a throwback move to the days of PKing like in Diablo 2 or other games. Also, there are so many ways to mitigate your losses and such that it's really no t worth complaining about.

Ok, i am really new to PvP, and my first 20 minutes in IC, I've already died quite a number of times. I am a NB and was in stealth each time and yet people seem to spot me a mile off. Is the stealth feature broken or what? I thought that once you are sneaking, it is near impossible to be seen, save for mage light. Those players, what i could see did not have that on. Is there something i am doing wrong? I can't even seem to complete one quest, due to ganking fests. Where is the PvE part of IC? Or is there no such thing for this DLC?

Apparently daedra have super op detection, and most pvp'ers use detect pots very often as well even though they have been nerfed.

Well, I will give it a shot if I get to the front of the waiting queue. ZOS btw never made a statement to my knowledge that they would increase the number of servers used or - which imo is more likely - re-dedicated e.g. the craglorn delves servers to host the new dungeons instead.
I just hope that ZOS will stick to their twisted way of fairness and bind cool PvP gear to Orsinium content when it comes out and only allows crafting of v18 gear at the end of a dungeon in orsinium. Considering how insanely high the prices are for gear like the ravager set I assume that the number of regularly PvP playing people is much lower than the pve playing ones and that there is a way higher demand than supply that way.

PvE is boring and repetitive. Nothing changes, it's all able learning the mechanics of a boss and then running the same DPS build as every other person of your class wears. PvE is all about grinding. If you want X reward you've gotta complete X over and over until you get it. People compete weekly to get reward that are practically based on how quickly they can do content they've already done 10+ times.

PvP is ever changing, the map over Cyrodiil has barely changed in pretty much a year, yet there are always players running new builds, people playing a certain build differently than another, people having a different 5 skills on each bar. Even when taking the boring copy/pasted keeps, defenders always have a different set up of siege, they always stack and bomb from different spots. You don't create your build based on how much damage it does, you make it to to be competitive in an environment where at any time you could get ganked.

I understand that people who PvE require content more often than PvP-ers but that doesn't mean they should ignore us completely. Before the Imperial city the only new content we actually got within months was some reskined siege equipment and two new alliance skills.

To a bad PvP player like me, NOTHING is more boring and repetitive than ESO's PvP:

    1) Ride horse 5 minutes looking for battle.

    2) Spot and enemy.... and attack!

    3) 20 more enemies appear out of nowhere...

    4) Die.

    5) Go back to Step 1.

This cycle has been the same since ESO launched, and I don't expect it to change because ZOS loves zergs.

"Before the Imperial city the only new content we actually got within months was some reskined siege equipment and two new alliance skills."

LOL, what? PvP players got new "content" every frickin' patch since launch... the devs have rebuilt the game's classes, skills and combat systems over and over for you guys! Your "content" came in the form of all the NERFS you begged for endlessly.

Taking into account this game is over a year old, could someone please point out where this over abundance of fresh PvE content is? People use this as their sole argument. We get told on a daily basis that one set of gamers have it better than the other. If you've been playing it since or near release, both PvPers and PvEers are in exactly the same boat (or at least were) as far as fresh content goes.

This isn't an indictment on either party, it's ZoS that hasn't kept this game fresh for all players. The chances are, a lot of those who do play solo will have moved onto something else by time the PvE content hits. It's akin to saying The Witcher 3 is still as fresh for the vast majority (who bought the game at release) today as it was in the first few weeks. There's absolutely nothing in ESO that keeps it fresh for the PvE players. It's a case of running over all the same ground over and over again.

Seriously, please feel free to point out where all this non stale PvE content is outside of Cyrodiil. Why we've had it so much better than those whose main staple has been PvP during the same time frame.

ZoS did a smashing good job.... at trying to bait players who are not IC's target audience into providing funding for the DLC. They put the new crafting resources particularly the water for the most part in IC to try to lure players into a PVP zone. I'm frustrated with that aspect but I refuse to give ZoS a dime.

Vote with your wallets, don't buy IC.

Hopefully they make it up with Orsinium/Wrothgar but if they pull a stunt like make that DLC higher VR cap to try and sucker players into buying IC no matter what.. it'll be a good time to quit the game and uninstall.

If you are saying that IC is necessay to lvl to v15/v16 i am fairly certain you are wrong. You still can use and get (in various ways) the new mats even if you dont buy it. You are buying the new areas and dungeons. So jumping to a conclusion that if they increase the VR lvls as a way to "sucker in players" then you are not paying attention.

And they probably will do similar things for orsinium. But yeah go ahead and buy or not buy. But dont spout misinformation to justify your reasons and cause.

It is just a macho attitude by some on here that seem to equate toughness with wanting to PVP. Don't PVP and there is something wrong with you. I've seen and heard this since UO. Lots of online toughguys. LOL

I am happy that IC was released for PVP. It was long overdue.

Where I think ZOS missed the mark was by not making some of the equipment available on the IC elsewhere.
