Imperial city 1st PvP update since launch and cost $25

Imperial City an update being only partially PvP the 1st ever seen in ESO and it costs $25? Most of us played ESO for the PvP being promised PvP updates
Q: Are you all done building Cyrodiil or will there be any PvP updates?
A: There will be plenty of updates to Cyrodiil as the game lives on. There are already plans for the first few patches!

After almost a year of subscription fees we have to pay to play the 1st new PvP content. The old PvP content is bugged and laggy and not yet fixed.

I could never force myself to pay that) even if I simply wanted to check it out. Who will pay for more of that or has something changed?

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/160820/alliance-war-faq-zos-brian-wheelers-answer-to-pvp-updates-from-april-2014/p1

Heres a post with a list of the 1st 6 updates that has to do with everything that went wrong with the game AND with links to original patch notes, Brian said there would be updates in the cyrodiil FAQ,

    I looked everything up.

Dont call people on something you clearly haven't, unless you want to explain and do anything relevant with your post :)

I'm willing to pay for it, and I've been PvPing since beta
This is obviously no small patch, it took a lot of time and effort and it looks like much has changed since they first announced it.
If you haven't spent the crowns you got for subscribing from the start, this update is free to you. The fact you decided to spend it on a pet or a mount when they told us DLC wouldn't be free is your fault.

I don't mind paying these guys as long as i'm having fun with the game they propose

Just like then you can either get it for free with your subscription, or you can buy it for a onetime fee if you aren't subscribed

Nothing has changed except you having more options.

So when there was no choice in regards to a subscription fee before it went B2P, would you have made the same comment? Because actually, it is "free" (in the sense of the "free" it would have been under the subscription model) as long as you are subscribed.

Well, if there's one thing you can trust ZOS with, it's money. If they tell you something won't be free, it won't ^^

And I stopped believing a lot of the stuff they say as well, which is why I don't subscribe to ESO + anymore. Nevertheless this looks like a worthy update and I'm willing to pay for it

    1) It is free if you are subscribed.
    2) You received 1000 crowns at ESO TU launch - so it will cost only 15 euros/dolars/pounds.
    3) If you dont want to pay - just dont buy the dlc.

Now we had ~6 months without paying 13€ every month to get full access to that game and pay again ~17€ (2500 crones) to get full access again. That's a good deal for us players!

    ~78 € vs ~ 17 €

    1st 12 months sub $180 vs $205

I had a sub last year I wouldnt have had to pay an extra $25 for something promised (also would have gotten content months sooner, alot changes in the 2 scenarios)

So it's better to pay subscription till 31.08.15? The subscription model will not change the date of the release.

This would already be in our greasy mitts had they not chosen to drop everything for consoles. Forgive me if I'm a little cranky after being asked to shell out $25 to get something that we should have had a long time ago.

My list of content that the year's sub *did* pay for, besides fixes:
Craglorn (though that was promised for launch, so its place on this list is dubious)
    Dye System
    Hobbled Justice System
    DSA
    Undaunted pledges
    Guild Tabards
    Dwemer motifs

Anyone have anything else to add?

Go look at FF14's patch notes. Frigging new quests and encounters every time you turn around.

This "go do something else if you don't like it" rationale needs to stop. We are not morally obliged to swallow everything we're fed and like it, just because we happen to enjoy the game.

It is stunning how undiscriminating some consumers can be with their hard-earned pennies just because of this bizarre misunderstanding of the concept of loyalty.

If Imperial City had come out when it was promised, we wouldn't have to pay because it would be a part of the base game. That's the answer for the "you would have paid for it if it came out last year" nonsense.Charging for Imperial City is like if they had charged for Craglorn upon B2P launch. Delaying content for a year to squeeze extra cash out of it is not only an insult to the existing playerbase, but I can't think of a single person that's going to come back to the game after hearing that news.

If it was an entirely new zone, like Wrothgar, I would have no problem with it being DLC.

Adding an extension to an existing zone, the ONLY PvP zone, by the way, and putting it behind a paywall, is ridiculous. It will fracture the community, as well as raids.

What the hell am I supposed to tell people in my raid that didn't buy the DLC? Tough *** guys, drop group?

It's 20 bucks. Seriously, you pay that to see some garbage Hollywood time-sink in a theater. If you didn't buy all the pny and kty re-skins you prob have enough crowns sitting around still from un-subbing to just buy it (I do). I suppose the loyalty crowns were a gift or an apology, but either way they can be used to offset the cost of the content. This content was announced when the game was mandatory subscription based and their content objectives were more ambitious. They said all content past 1.6 would be store based, this is past 1.6, therefore it is store based. If you go back to your previous subscription commitment the content is inclusive, just as it was "PROMISED" originally, inclusive in a subscription.

If you are very upset about this just don't buy the content. You will still hit v16 grinding out old pvp and pve content and you can get v16 gear from scaled dungeons, cyrodiil or just buying the new stuff from other players. It isn't a very big content patch with just 2 dungeons, 1 pub dungeon some new armor skins and few motiffs. It is no Burning Crusades.

20 SETS OF SUPER POWERFUL GEAR, THIS IS P2W. YOU ARE FORCED TO PAY TO PLAY THE GAME.

You haven't seen the gear stats so you don't know that, you are just spouting your worst fears. Even then they have already said anything you can buy from the PVP section of the update can be sold on a guild vendor so you can farm nirncrux till you can buy the gear with gold, or have a friend who can keep 20 bucks in their pocket get it for your whole guild and they can farm the gear for you and sell it to you on the cheap.

    Where did you read that?

Do I look like google? Read yesterday's "official" discussion thread. It cleared up a lot of questions.
    “Whatever.”
