Well, if you want to get into PvP, here's some information you will like: Your armor doesn't damage from getting killed by other players!

    See you soon!

    No you won't :)

Like I said earlier I don't PvP, never have never will. To those that like it I'm sure you'll love the IC.

There are games that have separate servers for PvP and PvE. Also ones where you can be flagged or not for PvP. Just like here you can turn off the option to kill innocents. I'm sure they can very easily put that option here for PvP.

Any info regarding the Dark Brotherhood? Also I am not really that PVP guy but I think 2500 crowns is kinda a lot why not 2000 at least?
@LordSteve997 Dark Brotherhood is planned for the future, but no details yet. 2500 Crowns is about $20 or £15, the standard price you would pay for a large DLC on a single-player game.

However, I would query Craglorn being classed as a PvE update rather than as group/competitive-PvE content. While it is possible to solo a fair amount of Craglorn there are sections of the primary quest chain there that require grouping. That changes the complexion of the thing.

PVE is PVE, whether done by one player or 1000 players.

Really? Group-required Dungeon PvE, competitive PvE (leaderboards etc.) and solo questing PvE are all identical to you in terms of the play styles required? Really?

Well that's... interesting. Not sure which group you are setting out to insult here, but I have a feeling that you might be doing a good job across the board ;) .

Awesome, more cool stuff to work for and collect. Wait .... where will I put this new stuff? My bags are already bulging with all the crafting supplies. The inventory management is by far my least desirable part of this game. Did I miss it? Is there an improvement to inventory?

Don't forget, we have dye stations and we can also craft *Sets* that look awesome and dye them any colour we want (as long as we have the achievement unlocked) and the best part? we can do this as many times as we like... for FREE!

The game? It was a subscription model to pay for the game, not to pay for new content after your subs ends.

@Lava_Croft It is clear that you don't understand the model.

I am aware there will be new sets but how about sets like Ravager, Morag Tong, Shadow Walker, Archmage, etc? Will these be updated at the launch or are they to be replaced with the new sets and fade into memory (Red Mountain)? I know it took you guys months to finally give us v14 versions of these sets, will you repeat this pattern? Also will be using AP to get these items or will we now need the Tel Var Stones? If so, this makes AP rather useless, especially those of us who are saving it.

About a dozen item sets from Cyrodiil are being updated and re-released in the Rewards for the Worthy and Leaderboard reward mails, and they will be available at every Level and Veteran Rank (including VR 16). Another dozen or so Cyrodiil sets have had their statistics updated, but will not be included in those mails.

Tel Var stones can only be gained and spent inside the Imperial City.
Shall we also assume this new gear will be 'bound' on pick up? This would force players to purchase a subscription and or DLC to have access to the new items.

The item sets in the new dungeons will be Bind on Pickup. However, item sets purchased via Tel Var stones are all Bind on Equip - meaning that you can sell them on Guild Stores or trade them to other players. Further, the crafting materials found in Imperial City can also be sold or traded, and used to craft VR 15 and VR 16 gear at any crafting bench.

Are these BoP and BoE versions of the SAME sets, though, or are there two different groups of IC sets? Will solo PvEers be able to buy any IC set they want with TV stones, or are there going to be some sets that are unfairly "group-gated" like the Trial gear from AA or HRC?

There already is! Just don't go into the designated RvR/AvA zones. Nothing in there requires you to ever fight another player, and every piece of equipment can be bought for gold. The point of an AvA system like ESO uses is to let people choose when or if they want to be in a PVP-enabled area or not. Even hardcore PVP'ers like to relax sometimes and gather junk, craft in town, or zone out and grind 30 minutes before they log. Likewise even the most hardcore PVE'ers enjoy hopping out to Cyrodiil a lot of the time, too. Simply having "100% danger, all the time" and "Never any danger" would be two over-the-top extremes.

    SO, ....

I don't PvP at all in any MMO - does this mean that the new content is unavailable to me?

I won't go near a place if there is even the possibility of PvP.

    I can't do the fancy high-stress end-game repetitive group content, ...

... so at this point I don't bother with any end-game.

I have 6 chars that I level-up in succession, usually around 10 levels at a time. I take breaks from the game, so I'm only at lvl 25-35 right now.

I love the crafting, love the story and enjoy leveling-up my characters. I was hoping that maybe they would come up with some nice PvE end-game that wasn't repetitive.

    Seems like I was wrong.

So my question is: Will I be able to enjoy ANY of the new content that isn't group-only with the guarantee of no PvP?

(I know that nobody cares, but I will try to explain - I simply can't deal with fighting against players. Lets just say I get enough 'challenge' with the mobs.)

PvP/PvE flagging system won't work here because there is no target lock.

Any griefer can simply 'hide' near PvE mobs and wait until you hit him/her.

The only answer would be to make zones that have NO PvP with clear access to and from those zones.

I cannot express how disappointed I am to know that pure PvE players are actually barred from the content.

The part that makes me really cynical is the fact that the griefers won't give a darn about the content. I highly doubt there will be many people going into this region after its 'first blush' wears off. Aside from griefers and those who need to get the way-stations to the full-group-only content.

This DLC is going to be the best one they ever do as far as content, for my tastes. Do some fixes and balance tweaks right, maybe throw some other nice little twists in there to address the champion system/VR ranks and I will be a happy gamer. Might even subscribe even though I really don't need to.

I cannot think of a better way ZOS could have said "go *** yourself, scrub" to loyal customers.

Pfft! They wanted 3000 crowns for a mount skin. That's actually pretty in line with what I expected the price of DLC to be.
Looks interesting but now it looks like I have to pvp to enjoy my pve which is unfortunate.

That was always going to be the case with the Imperial City. No surprises there.

Yes, hence why the ESO+ membership mentions it includes the DLC game packs, although keep in mind if you cancel your sub you lose access to the zone (although you keep any items you earned while you were there)

    Catch-22

You don't have to do ANY PvP ...

... but you have to run around in an open-PvP area while you are doing PvE quests.

Technically, if you don't mind getting ganked every now and again (and again, and again, ...) you should be able to ... maybe, collect enough for 1/4 of the first piece before you smash your keyboard and leave the game.

I would say... don't bother. If you are purely a PvE player, like me, then from the sounds of things IC isn't for us. It certainly isn't for me. I probably won't even be buying IC. I have written off the crafting opportunities of IC on the basis of hope that they will not make this new tier available to IC only. I have asked a question about this in this thread, although it hasn't been answered yet.

That said, if this tier of crafting is, in effect, only freely open to PvP-participating players then I will drop my sub immediately and then only worry about picking up Orsinium/Wrothgar, when it drops, with the crowns that I already have on my account.

To be blunt, this update seems, both in its intention and implementation, to not be for me. I am ok with that, the PvP people haven't (apart from class/ability balance updates) gotten a lot of content-based love from ZOS recently...

...they just better get back on track with further PvE updates after and the new VR15-16 crafting tier sure as oblivion better not be exclusive to IC.

That's what Cyrodiil proper is good for, and depositing your Tel Var stones into the bank. More frequent trips to the bank to deposit means more safety, but less earning potential due to the traveling. MMORPG's are designed around competition, both PVE and PVP. You can see this in any game, but ESO especially wasn't advertised as anything else between leaderboards, the competitive tagging system, economy with guild stores, trials leaderboards, cyrodiil alliance war skill lines, cyrodiil leaderboards, and emperorship all up for grabs to the best players.

If you're new to PVP do what everyone does now who is green at PVP that isn't a non-instanced battleground/scenario-style with 10 on 10 teams and a fixed duration: go out there, learn, and practice. Join or make groups if you need, to get a little more support. Make friends and get better at it until you stop dying enough that you feel comfortable trying to accrue those stones. :)

Also bear in mind just as with current PVP gear you can buy these with gold as the items are bind on equip. You can't say the same of PVE Trials gear and Undaunted PVE dungeon sets.

It's not that I am exactly new to PvP, I'm honestly not very good at it, nor do I like it at all. But as my post stated: I have nothing against new PvP content, actually welcome it. So as much as I appreciate your efforts to educate, I have been playing MMOs long enough to fully grasp the concept of competitiveness. I really don't need it explained to me.

The problem I have with this equation is being punished by having my "hard earned" stone taken from me. I get the impression you're missing that from my initial post. If I can get said high-end gear another way, fine - no more complaints from me. But I am not spending my game time running back and forth from the bank with my little limited deposits - run the risk of getting ganked still and still losing it all with each trip any way. This is utterly ridiculous.

So as much as I appreciate you taking the time to try to explain this, you didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. And I'm not buying it, therefore.... I'm not buying it.

We have very similar game play habits. I am not a PVP player, although I do spend time in Cyrodiil. I am by no means good enough in PVP to actually kill another player, unless they have no chance at all, or I am on a keep wall. So far, all (and I mean all) attempts at any direct combat have resulted in my death.

However, I excel in being in places where everyone can kill me, and surviving. I will try Imperial City on PTS to see if any strategies I have in mind pan out. I get Imperial City included with ESO Plus, but it may be that I don't spend any time there.

Any chance of having the latest patches applied to PTS before the launch of Imperial City? According to the login screen, the PTS is currently at patch 2.0.8 while the live servers are at 2.0.13.

This is one of the reasons why I haven't played on the PTS for a long time - no use in reporting bugs that may already have been fixed with a patch.

Also, since I have characters on both the EU and NA server, which one of the character sets will be copied to the IC?
