Where are the girls?

I'm looking for other girls to play with, maybe even start an all chick guild, or join one. I'm in Daggerfall covenant, playing on xbox one NA server.

Oh dear, it reminds me of the time Mrs Tandor - who is not very computer savvy - wanted to find out where the local Virgin DvD store was, and said "No problem, I'll google "virgin"" !

    Good luck!

I dunno, same gender guilds get weird. I think it's better be in a purely anonymous guild but I just realized you're stuck with voice chat so nevermind.

Well there are certainly plenty of women gamers on PC, I can't imagine it would be much different on either of the consoles?

You probably want to start a recruitment thread in the appropriate section of the forums though, there is one for making and finding guilds :)

I'm going to guess that most girls in ESO are the same place as any other game. Hiding from creepy male gamers that try to hit on them. Lol.
  • babygirl7883
I agree that would be better, but since it can't be that way and I'm tired of grown men turning into 10 year old boys when they hear my voice, I am going this route.

God I pity you console players having no means of communication aside from voice.

I personally REQUIRE the sense of anonymity that text chat gives me in order to properly role play my character, and hearing the cracking post-pubescent voices of that burly Orc DK tank just kills the mood for me. XD

I really hope you guys get text chat soon. There are also voice synth apps out there, though sadly that won't work for console either. If ZOS ever implements voice chat on PC though I will be using a voice synth program to change my voice to suit my character, male or female.

I have no idea how guild recruitment works on consoles but I sincerely wish you the best of luck.

    Also, girl gamers rule!

I still haven't heard another woman use area chat or guild chat on my Xbox account yet, I hear plenty of women's voices on Teamspeak in various guilds I visit for the PC version of this game, including PvPers in Cyrodiil.

So from my limited sample, it seems as if the gender composition varies quite a bit between the PC and console communities of ESO.

I've heard girls in the voice chat, but it's rare, and every time there's at least one person who apparently can't control their testosterone. I play the game but I don't use the voice chat. Doesn't mean I don't exist.

That's a shame, it could be that women are either deterred by voice-only chat, or stay quiet to retain anonymity. There are certainly times online where I do not particularly want to reveal my gender and have it known by all and sundry, although less so in ESO on the PC servers than in some other games tbh.

While I don't think it's right or fair... and maybe... just maybe society will grow up some day... the best thing you can do is keep anonymity. Unfortunately for a lot of girls as they have aged with the consoles, their stuck with gamer tags that they wish they could change and it's like a homing beacon for idiots.

Like I said, I don't agree with it, but unfortunately, that's how people are.

You could start an all-female guild, in which you are the only one capable of issuing invites, and only invite confirmed females.
I'm just going to sheepishly add that your gamertag (or at least ID on here) is probably going to add some to the attention you are probably not wanting.

But this isn't an issue with voice chat on the PC version of this game. Women DO freely visit various guild Teamspeak, Mumble, and other voice chat servers without it being a big deal. So why is it a big deal on the console?

I think I was typing out my response when you posted this, but yeah pretty much what I thought a few posts down from this!
I see it as one of the issues of having voice only chat. On PC I can choose to use a TS server in certain of my guilds, but they are people I play with regularly and it's no surprise to them that I am female (and plenty of other women in the guilds I play with too).
Unfortunately there are some juvenile idiots around who can behave badly (and it is a small minority - unfortunately it only takes 1 idiot to make you feel like ***), but at least I am not forced into voice chat with them so that I can hear their idiocy. I hope Zenimax takes another look at communication on the console versions.

I definitely agree that ZOS should take a second look at communication on the console version. I love text for many reasons as well.

But I want to reiterate that it's very rare for anyone to make a big deal of my gender when I jump into someone's Teamspeak for the PC version of this game. When my regular guilds aren't running in Cyrodiil, I will hop into some random guild's Teamspeak server without knowing any of the people before and usually I am not the only woman on it.

So for women on the PC, it IS safe to be heard and meet strangers. I don't feel the same way when I play on the Xbox.

To answer the questions about the PC... and as a console gamer, I'm hiding my head after this because I will never defect to the master race... But guys on console for the most part are complete idiots. And it's not just towards girls.

This may be just a personal pet peeve, but one of my buddys that I play with frequently is in the military. And nothing annoys me more than when we play with a group of people for an hour, let's say, and then through conversation, if my friend is talking to his friend, they find out he's in the military. After that it becomes a oh thank you for your service and we appreciate you and all this.

Now I have no problem with people thanking members of our armed forces by any means, but he's on here to play the game. Even he has said how annoying it gets when people are like that.

So yeah, it's not just girls... like I said... guys on consoles are dumb *runs and hides before I get marked for treason against consoles*

Yep we are in agreement btw in case that got lost somewhere along the line in this discussion! I have never had a problem on TS on the PC version, and have used TS with groups of randoms when doing PvP and it's been fine. I think a lot of it has to do with ts groups being able to ban people. If you could put a lock on anybody's voice on console that also muted them from everyone else forever, people would think before talking.
