I think a lot of it has to do with ts groups being able to ban people. If you could put a lock on anybody's voice on console that also muted them from everyone else forever, people would think before talking.

Just like irl. You could get your teeth kicked in if you offend the right person.

While this is true... much like the way everything else is set up around here.. they may get the satisfaction of kicking your teeth in, but in the end, they get a slap on the hand and nothing happens to or for you. Unless you sued for medical expenses. But then your putting effort in.

So at the end of the day, you have your teeth kicked in. The person that did it get's told that they're a bad boy/girl. And business continues as normal.

Ooh. Every game should have gender neutral characters. IDEA. Remove the races from the game and add different colored sack boys. And for xbox.. Idk I would need someone's help because I think LBP is sony exclusive.

Agreed. But let's be serious. If someone (and I'm sure they have) made a guys only guild, there would be girls reporting that person for discrimination, which by the way is against the CoC and ToS.

I myself personally don't get why guys are dumb on console. And I have no problem with gender specific guilds, as long as it's treated equally by Zenimax. If girls only guilds can exists, then so should guys only. I just want equality da** it.

I don't know if it's just me but I find people barely use mics anyway.
Not even when your in a group with them.
I'll join a group and be all "g'day all. What's going on and what are we up to today".
9.9 times out of 10 I'm met with complete silence.
I've found that largely to be the case when playing with others on console. I don't know if console owners are scared of their mic or what but most of them are definately not using them.

I think it is the simple fact that real voice communication is a TERRIBLE medium in ROLE PLAYING games.

It completely destroys immersion and the "mood" of the environment.

    For me at least.

I posted during PC beta a suggestion to create an in-game voice synth for role play, but I guess ZOS thought that licensing Naturally Speaking was too spendy?

I'm not joking. If there was a male only guild or a white only guild or a straight only guild everyone would flip out so why is this okay?
I agree that would be better, but since it can't be that way and I'm tired of grown men turning into 10 year old boys when they hear my voice, I am going this route.

It has nothing to do with your voice. It's the anonymity of the internet. Everyone has to deal with people being ***. I can't count how many times I've had death threats and comments about my mom's sex life and their role in it just because someone was losing or some other trivial reason. My first day in ESO it sounded like someone was rolling their mic down the stairs so I told them to mute before the whole town goes deaf. Their response was "[snip] you! How's this sound? [snip] you! [snip] you! [snip] you! [snip] you! [snip] you!" ad nauseum until I turned off chat. Male streamers have been swatted just because of their opinions. Etcetera.

Just join a guild and try to pretend nonmembers don't exist. That's the best way to avoid the idiots. And no I don't mean one of those zerg guilds spamming you with invites every time you go to town. Those are glorified PUGs. I mean real guilds with actual standards and an application process. I've never seen a woman in one of my guilds be treated badly. In the unlikely event that they were, whoever did it would be kicked out immediately. There's no reason to go all female supremacist, assume all men are creepy perverts and start segregating.

And this guild was begun by some of the Mara tester ladies who were a focus group that ZOS invited to the closed beta two years ago. It was very cool that ZOS had a focus group of ladies to get our perspective on this game. Very innovative of them!

Though I thought the guild opened up to include male family members after Launch? I'm not sure anymore because I left the guild to make more space for Trading guilds and PvP focused guilds, though I do keep in touch still with some Maras.

I mean... Not to be a jerk but let's be honest. If a guy would have posted this requesting a guild. Someone would have told them to go post in the megathread and report them, resulting in the thread being closed. It's happened before.

Funny how it's a post seeking a girls only guild and it's still open.

Like I said. I'm not trying to be a ***, but there's a double standard on both ends. (I guess that makes 4 standards... but I digress.)

And just to cover my ass, I'm not blaming any person in particular, I'm just saying that this is how society is. You can't escape society. Not even in a video game that has an online multiplayer aspect.

Yes, I was in it during the beta.. they are all very cool ladies! I didn't join in release though, so I didn't hear they are accepting male members. After looking at their webpage/facebook now, I am very glad to see it still active. I miss beta days. :3

This thread quickly moved beyond a player seeking a woman's only guild and moved into a discussion of why someone may be interested in such a thing. That's why I believe this thread has not been moved. It's had some interesting discussion and I'd be thrilled if a certain Dev known for lurking delurked here.

Genderless RP characters are definitely possible. A few years ago I used to do what we called 'freeform RP' on a forum - aside from a few basic rules (like you couldn't be invincible) you could be anyone or anything. We'd have storylines where the god of insanity worked alongside a pikachu with his own space station and a tree sprite from another dimension. There were quite a few gender neutral, or completely genderless characters. My personal favourite was a guy who RP'd a blob of sentient goo, made for a surprisingly interesting character and some challenging scenes.

I'm sure I've also played at least 1 RPG where the genders you could choose depended on your race and at least 1 race was genderless, but it was years ago and I can't remember the name. A quick google search tells me it does happen in some MMOs too. But you're right that it has to be worked into the lore and I don't think that's happened with TES (yet).

Yes but Zenimax and or Bethesda have a story that they can add whatever they want. First, ESO is set in the past (if I remember correctly 1000 years, i could be wrong though). Second, Dragon Breaks (I think that's what they're called).

Now granted, using a dragon break to explain why the gender neutral races or characters didn't show up later in the chronology will probably lead to some Zenimax bashing if the story doesn't provide a nondiscriminatory reason.. but it most definitely is doable.
