VR16 - Yes, or no?

  • gjmgamesub17_ESO
    Yes
It's an mmorpg, not a single player game.

People on forums always seem to be under the impression that they are the majority of the player base. If thar were true then there would be thousands of no votes.

Fact is, most forum posters are a very minor depiction of the player base and seem to feel entitled like they have any say in any matter and then cry when they don't get their way.

If you don't like the game then find another, it makes no difference what your opinion is, there are thousands playing right now who think otherwise.

I didn't vote, because I don't know what to think about this. I have one vr character and she is only v8.

Congratulations. It will now take you 25% less time to get to VR16 than it took us to get to VR14 through questing. You win!

    Some just refuse to acknowledge:

    1. XP needed for every VR rank reduced by 15%
    2. Quest XP increased by 50%
    3. Public Dungeons (Large group delves) Doubling XP
    4. Craglorn XP increased by 20%

My highest level character is a VR2, so the change also benefits me.

So you would have them hold new content (which is almost ready for release), re-do all in game itemization which will most likely take months, and then release with the removal of VR Ranks?

You wouldn't prefer to have things to do and achieve while they work on this? Just because they said this, they can't adjust based on what players are asking for..like new content?

    No.

I would have them actually keep their word.

I know ... a novel concept in this brave new age, when peoples' words are meaningless. Call me old-fashioned.

    I reiterate: I don't care for liars.

Personally I'm okay with them re-prioritizing based on what the majority of the player base wants. Put up a poll for an option of 6 months without any new content but at the end the VR Ranks are removed or temp increase in VR Ranks by 2 which allows for more content to be released and tiered gear, while removal is worked on.

I would take the second option every time. I think it's great that they can re prioritize when their players want content.

I only vote yes because if that's what they need to do in order to roll out new content, then so be it. ESO is in desperate need of new content above all else.

And the xp buffs lighten the blow some.

If that's what they said then it's BS. Why would they need to add levels to add content? Why couldn't they just add it in at VR14? Never heard anything so ridiculous from an MMO dev.

"Long term goal is still to remove veteran ranks, but it is intimately tied with gear progression currently. This allows them to release more content without the delay on full re-itemization."

I don't know the details, but this was the reason provided I believe, it's a 2cnd party paraphrase from yesterday's ESO live. I believe it basically means they want to introduce new gear with the new content, and the time it would take to itemize all the new gear as well as all the existing gear in order for it to match a vet system restructure, would delay the release of new content even further.

Still not entirely clear why they'd need to re-itemise anything. Why not just release the new gear at VR14?

And thousands who've already left due to VR. I know a few of these myself

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.
