Either most of you have the wrong side of your brain working or I dont get it why are you QQ'ing about Sorcs. Read it carefully, as it was stated they are going to decrease shields from 15 or 20% to 50% as well as add additional stam costs / nerfs to block & rolldodge, that all with 50% damage reduction.

Now if you used your brain cells to think of *it* instead of going into QQ mode instantly, you would use 3rd grade math skills and think of...

30-35% shield decrease in total ~

    ...

    with 50% damage reduction ~

Now, mathematically, survivability wise as for shields, sorcs are the only class to get a boost. I know, I know... BE nerfs. Well, it had to be done. Sorcs will atleast have to manage the timer between bolting, this shouldnt be hard.

Now if you take, for example, Templars - they are the ones to get yet another nerf hammer to all sides, especially magicka one. Stamina (Blocktards) DKs will rot in hell, and magicka ones that are *Skaffa* type, will shine even more and thats all because of the built-in heals that are not affected by heal reduction. Stamina NBs will remain the same and just take Sorcs place to get better at dodge management. Magicka NBs will shine.

Good changes overall, lower TTK, more skill involved to survive and outplay an opponent - as well as much easier to kill the one that does not know what to do and used to hold the mouse button to act like hes good.

Cant wait to see them live! ~

You don't have the brain cells to realize there is already a 20% dmg decrease in cyrodiil. So no survivability buff for shields... They come out even.

I don't think this will increase TTK. Everything will degrade in almost same ratio maybe 5% more or less. You have to get rid of empower stacking and implement some sort of softcaps to increase TTK.

It is a bit interesting that everyone, including zos complains time to kill is too short in pvp, so they nerf most of the ways people stay alive. Be interesting to see how the damage mitigation change evens that out.

I give Sypher to come up with his build YouTube video post update within a week.

I'm quite sure those complaints relate to the instagibs that happen, and these changes will increase the time it takes to "instagib", so it won't be an instagib anymore and you'll have time to react.

The other way how TTK is broken, is fights vs permablockers, shield spammers, infinidodgers. That's when you get cheesy fights lasting forever (or until one side gets bored), which is far from ideal as well.

I used to say that this game either has a TTK of <0,1 seconds, or it has TTK of >10 minutes, hopefully this patch will fix both of these issues.
  • wanderlustx5
Awesome changes! finally someone has sense to nerf the perma block/dodge/bolters. Also no more one shots and infinite heals. Now if they would only nerf the radius of purge down to 5 miters

I don't have to find a new build to rack up kills with the changes....my build just became even more OP. Guess what class I'm playing?

    I was a good guesser.

About a month ago, I decided to switch from the magicka sorc I'd been playing since day one to a stamina NB. These announcements confirm I made the right choice for PvP.

I am pretty happy to see that Dual Wield will get a major savagery buff. DW/ Bow is a lot of fun :)

Ok so I didn't see the nirn nerf part described in the OP. Can anyone give the details?

    Consider the overall plan:

    - Reduce the effectiveness of most active defenses (e.g., Dodge, Block, Bolt, Healing)
    - Increase everyone's passive mitigation (e.g., standing there looking at your map) via Battle Spirit

Whom does this favor? People who don't use active defenses properly, but nonetheless expect not to die before they can hunt-and-peck their way through combat. That's who. This is ZOS tuning PvP to be easier on those who prefer... let's just call is "slower-paced" PvP.

    - Block nerf
    - Bolt nerf
    - Horribad light armor

So now against someone in full nirn my attacks hit even less and have less survivability. Bye min/maxing

Nirn will only affect the resist of the specific armor value, making it arguably worse than reinforced. Question is how does this work on a nirn weapon?

    RIP Sorc

Class will be dead with the changes, it simply won't be playable at all....ahh well it was fun while it lasted....the class with the least healing options and defense is also the class with the most nerfs leveled at it...how ironic....with this next update there will be no reason to be any other class but Nightblades....

You only Read the sorcerer nerfs it looks like ? With reduced damage taking, 33% more cost after each roll nightblades Will not be as effective as now.
Since 1.6 I've seen you trying to put the attention on nightblades to defend your shieldstacking class.
And now you're dumping your main class to play a "OP" class . xD
Pathetic. Sorcs had this coming. As did permarollers and permablockers.

Stop whining, the nerf to bolt escape was needed from day 1, it is a good change... Note that there is also a 50% reduction in the overall DMG output to offset changes to shield, roll dodge and bolt escape.

The only thing that changed is that you now no longer will be able to roll dodge and bolt escape indefinitely, which is a good change.

My only concern is that from the list given by the OP i see nothing that helps Heavy Armor to be useful

SO whats the use? lowering shields 50% and lowering dmg 50% doesnt that mean it will stay the same?

Wow, it's amazing to me so many people are missing so much.

The huge nerf to nirn and sharpened has zero impact on a shield-stacking Sorc.

It has a huge negative impact on melee NB, probably 25% nerf to damage taken and dealt.

All of the changes are probably good for the game, they actually seem reasonably well thought out, assuming they get all the bugs they didn't mention sorted 1.7 should be a great patch IMO.

No idea where the balance will land, although NB tanks definitely got a lot better.

Considering sorcs use nirn and sharpened weapons, "zero impact" is incorrect, lol. Maybe Zeni should make an official written post and then it might be reasonable for you to look down your nose at people "missing so much."

Let's have cloak and breath of life double in cost after every cast so all classes are screwed. Good bye sorc. Garbage, absolutely a terrible idea. give me a respec token if you going to nerf a class into nothing. Is green dragons blood going to get a 50% reduction in heals as well since it based off a percentage? Just nerf everything. GARBAGE. Take the Damn skill out of the tree if you don't want the players to use. Pure trash.

It doesn't matter if they use them, it only matters if they should.

The nerf to sharpened won't apply to staffs.

    Mitigation doesn't apply to shields.

    zero.
