0.8% chance for Perfect Roe. ZOS, REALLY?

i have an addon that show total chance for any fish based on my experience

so im wondering why the chance is so low?
this addon show the chance not only from this type of fish but it count all your attempts from all white fish

Some people have a higher percentage and others have a lower one.

My advice is to save some money and buy any extra pots you need.

its average chance

ummmm im surprised by your surprise.. what % were you expecting? what % do you think it should be? its a GOLD(!!!) crafting material. ya know. on par with tempering alloy, druegh wax etc..

let me say that again. its GOLD. i know it different but, ya know.. the same gold the imperial motif is. TOP tier item. RAREST kind of item. is this getting through>?

p.s. i am pretty sure its 0.8% you have just been a bit unlucky=(

IMO the chance should be higher on rare fishes (green and blue) because right now if you catch it and its already in your collection, its useless beside some funny money for selling it.

If rarefish already in collection then chance for perfect roe

but higher than normal

It's a legendary ingredient. I find the drop rate justified, but I may be biased as I've been lucky with the drops.

I agree, It's legendary, which equals RARE. I haven't found any yet, but still I find the drop rate fine Patience is a virtue.

I got 22 roes out of around 1900 fish. That same add-on gave me a 1.2% drop rate. It probably hovers around 1%, which I think is fine. At least now I have an incentive to get the fishing achievements (already got all zones in DC except Bangkorai).

I think it's a lot, I'm more accustomed to RNG where you have like 0.1 or 0.01 chance of getting what you want.

It's a rare item used to make an awesome potion, I feel the rarity is justified.

A 0.1 or 0.01 chance is 10% and 1% respectively. Or did you mean 0.1% and 0.01%? If that's the case, thank Kyne ESO isn't made that way.

Sounds about right... I found some, on average about one roe every 120 fish or so... so, I'd say, somewhere between 0.5% and 1% would be the rate. Call it 1% after figuring in my usual luck with these kind of things...

Show me the lottery that gives me a 1 in 100 chance and I'll spend enough to get 100 tries.

I have 15 perfect roe. The drop rate was consistently 1 in 100.

That's a really good rate for something like that.

Consensus on the board is already that the drop rate is about 1%, and my own experience seems about the same. You don't need an add on for that.

And personallly, I don't consider that a bad rate for a gold item.

Well from my time fishing i spent about 2-3 hours using the right biat and didn't get anything other then fish, oh and the odd wet sack of crap. Lucky you for getting that many fast.

0.8% is just fine, especially for a gold mat. That's more than 3 times the drop rate for Nirncrux, which is only 0.25%.

With XP scrolls being sold in the crown store, did you really think they would make Perfect Roe have a high percentage drop rate?

C'mon guys.

Within 48 hours of the patch I had 24 of these potions in my inventory without having spent either real money nor ingame gold. Nor having spent hours fishing (just 2 or 3). The drop rate of both the recipe parts AND the gold ingredient is so fair that I'm truly afraid that they stealth nerf it to boost crown store sales.

I dont think the drop is that bad. TBH i think nirncrux are worse. I consistantly get about 1 per 100 fish. Though I do fish a lot :P

Last night though I got lucky and got 5 out of 230 so....

Wait, Votan's does that? How do you check it? I only started using Votan's Fish Fillet recently...

And for the record, I think a drop rate of approximately 1% is reasonable for a legendary ingredient. If each perfect roe could only create 1 Psijic Ambrosia I would feel differently.

Well since the OP wouldnt answer. Its not Votans Fish Filet that shows that information, its another of Votan's addons called Votans Fisherman I linked there. Its actually pretty good, puts a colored pin on your map showing what kind of water it is, as i am always having trouble finding foul water in zones this will be extremely useful

Ill do some fishing today and post my results.

Just because you're extremely lucky clicking reward bags, doesn't mean the drop rate is is fair.

I've done 64 max level provisioning writs in Craglorn and I've gotten 1 fragment. That's about 2 months work for a player with only one provisioner and same "luck" lol. I'm certainly not the only one getting close to nothing on a daily basis either.

Getting Roe about 1% seems fair enough though.
