How do I add a picture to my post?

There's a button above the text box that says Image when you hover your mouse pointer over it.

Above the box where you enter in the text of your post is an icon that looks like a picture of a landscape. Click on that and paste the URL of the picture you want to put in the post.

For most forums, images can only be added to posts if they're hosted elsewhere. For example:



(If you quote my post, you can see the tag I used)

There are a few forums, mostly the support and PTS sections, that allow images to be uploaded. This way someone who has encountered an issue can more easily get us screenshots of the problem.

You have to use an online image, one already there or one you upload to one of those photo sites. One on your computer won't work.

Uploading pictures here only worked for me during beta. After this, whenever I wanted to post a picture, I uploaded them to my homepage to link it in here. When I click on the "image" button here, it only shows "Image URL", nothing more.

you can search that for a few basic guides.

i dont even bother with the little quick option above, its faster for me to paste and do the tags myself now.

of course i seem glued to these forums so its pretty obvious i would end up learning them.

Ok thank you, i wanted to upload a screen shot of blue skies and white fluffy clouds I found thru a glitch in coldharbor, was the funniest thing I have seen in this game yet. I looked like I was playing mario brothers.

I tried posting a screen shot I'd taken and uploaded to Twitter, but it didn't show up. What photo sites are supported?

Only one I use is imgur.com - it's pretty fast for uploading, and also pics display here quite fast as well. I'm sure there are others, but I just use imgur as it's free and I can mostly ignore the ads.

This is the BBCode format from imgur.com. Once you upload your image to the site, hover mouse over it and you'll see a COPY LINK box and Three dots. Click the 3 dots and select "get share links". Select the BBCode format and just copy and paste link directly into text box here.
Imgur is free and works very well.

I like postimages.org for PC.
Open a new tab for postimages.org.



Click the Choose Images button, find your pic, and click the Open button at the bottom right of the screen.
The file will automatically upload and you'll get a list of links to your pic to use on the web.




Copy the Direct Link URL, and tab back to the forums.
When you make a post or leave a reply on the forums, click the image icon on the menu bar.



Paste the Direct Link URL into the form text box.
Click the Preview button to see how the pic will be viewed on the forums, and adjust if necessary.

Finally, click the Post Discussion or Post Reply button for the pic to go live.

Once you get the hang of it, using the img + /img tag in brackets works just as well.

I have never used an image hosting site here because generally I have been able to drag and drop something from my desktop directly into the “Leave a reply” box. Sometimes it does not work, though.

Perhaps the Bug Reports allows me to do this but Housing and Crafting does not?

This is news to me, though.

Geez, it’s hard enough to get the image from my PS to a USB and then onto my computer, now I have to use imgur as another step? The browser on PS4 was clunky so I didn’t use it and I don’t even know if PS5 has one to use to try directly from there. Something tells me it’ll still be fewer hoops to jump through on computer.

Just use the housing forum and copy-paste the code if you don't want to use Imgur.

Easiest way is use imgur.com (its free)
Create an account
Upload your picture to the imgur account
Select the picture
where it says ' Direct Link' click on Copy
Go to Forums
create/reply to post
click on the Image icon on the bar at the top
click on the box that pops up
Paste (control + V)
your URL will show up in the box
