Seen healers who thought their job was to do damage, tanks in medium armor who laughed at the idea of using a shield, guys who think have no concept of loot generation and so on.
I can't heal you if you're getting one-shotted because you're standing in stupid, or if you're way away from the rest of us, and you can't DPS if you're dead.

We have a role to take. I think it's pretty excitting, and funny sometimes. I've several new to MMO members in my guild and it's amazing how we do not realise sometimes that simple concept are totally alien for them. And some terms;;like kiting, aggro, DPS, etc...
lol this is my first MMO, but I already knew most of the common MMO terms just from watching The GuildStories-Bones-Tell wrote: »Bounced around a few MMOs on PC, havent touched on in a long while but decided to try TESO when it came to PS4. A lot of players came from Elder Scrolls game and had never played a MMO before. This on PC aswell, but certainly a lot more on Console.
I try to help those players as much as possible, answering their question via my stream and videos, and so are doing lots of member of the Youtube/Twich Community.

I started to re-watch that recently - there are quite a few things that just didn't register with me before as I had no context for them. Now that show makes a heck of a lot more sense.
Well if it's not, it is on Youtube. I mean, it's a web series after allFancyTuna8 wrote: »newtinmpls wrote: »lol this is my first MMO, but I already knew most of the common MMO terms just from watching The Guild

I think I'm going to have to re-watch it now that I have actually played an MMO. Hope it is still somewhere on Netflix or amazon instant video.

Your preconceived notions from other games of what a sorcerer should and shouldn't be able to do have no place in Tamriel. I take it you've never played any other TES games?Metal10957 wrote: »ESO gives MMO newbies too much room for error. It's easy to be ignorant of RPG and MMO elements when you can tank as a sorcerer. I'm fairly sure no one's idea of a sorcerer before this game was of plate armor and a shield. Gandalf wore a robe, he had a staff. Just seems this game cares not for true mythology and lore, J.R.R. Tolkien who?

Then you've definitely never played any previous TES game. Frankly my go-to build in previous TES games was a magicka user in the heaviest armour I could get - typically relying primarily on summoning magic and using different weapons depending on how I felt at the time.Metal10957 wrote: »Your preconceived notions from other games of what a sorcerer should and shouldn't be able to do have no place in Tamriel.
