]I know the theory of how to make it work. I'm not an experienced enough tank to actually try to make it work myself. I'll stick to my 5-pieces of heavy armour and sword & board on both skill bars for my own tankLearn to walk before you run. Yes, you can play a tank in medium. You know how to make it work.
Honestly I still rarely dodge-roll, partly because I find I can usually get out of the red without using it (if the red area is big I always try to dodge-roll out though), and partly because sometimes the double-tap gives me issues. I've just remapped it to one of my mouse buttons, though, so I'll probably be using it more now.I look back to when I started and I laugh at myself, but it's part of the fun to learn new things. I was in Vet levels before I realized how useful dodge-roll was.

I'm level 30 or so now and I have to say 99% of people have no idea what is going on and I'm wondering if this is because MMOs are a new genre for consoles or if the TESO community is just composed of people who are more interested in an TES title than an MMO.
Seen healers who thought their job was to do damage, tanks in medium armor who laughed at the idea of using a shield, guys who think have no concept of loot generation and so on.

I am, however, equally surprised at your expectation that things have to be done a certain way. In most parts of this game, there is a vast gray area.
@Merlin13KAGL There's a way that something can be done and then there's the most efficient way to do something.

Look, I got the memo, I know we're putting these cover sheets on the TPS reports now, I just forgot.FancyTuna8 wrote: »Merlin13KAGL wrote: »It's not an ignorant-of-MMO's thing, it's more of a new player thing.

So, Peter, has Bill talked to you about your TPS reports yet?

dont take your time find a good one. decide what you want to do while levelling then ask your more experienced guildies for their suggestions on how best to achieve what you want for your character. This has the advantage that you wont be LFG all the time and if you have an idea and want to test something you weill no doubt have access to experienced crafters to help you out.PS4 EU
Has to be said ESOTU is my first MMO and currently I am still trying to figure out what I want my character to be. I'll also take my time before joining a guild because I want to be sure I know what I am doing,
That said, having played TES single player games for many years, like others who have, we have the heads up re exploration, lore books and so on in the game. It's part of what we love about the TES universe.
I too watch people running around like crazy doing quests, running past chests, missing quests, resources, dungeons, Ayleid ruins and so on.
I am pretty sure some think I am nuts wandering around apparently doing 'nothing.'
Now you would think that some folks who played Skyrim (and expected ESOTU to be like Skyrim) to get the exploration element.
Two things there already. Those who thought the game was going to be like Skyrim, and have never played an MMo and those who thought OESTU was going to be like other MMos.
Some folks can't deal with the freedoms the game offers in building character/class/race, weapons/armour.
I love it! and..I look forward to joining up with others to play...but not just yet
Have a good one all.
I have healed tanks that don't use a shield, and tanks that do use ones. The ones that don't, make me want to strangle them, that's group kick worthy right there. I don't give a *** if hes having fun or not, do what your supposed to or move the *** on.
@FancyTuna8, @UrQuan, yeahhhhhh...that'd be great...Look, I got the memo, I know we're putting these cover sheets on the TPS reports now, I just forgot.FancyTuna8 wrote: »Merlin13KAGL wrote: »It's not an ignorant-of-MMO's thing, it's more of a new player thing.

@Aeeeek, you're ahead of the game.Been playing 2? weeks after launch and I've only just discovered what bash is.
In my defence, my main is a DW NB whose idea of defence is moar offence.

Well of course not. There is no reason to. You saw what they did to the vet zones right?UrQuan wrote:There are no words. This is the problem with some people who just grind to level up: they never learn how to actually play the game effectively.

LOL, except you literally can't do high level dungeons without a dedicated tank and healer.

So run with a group that has that. Not everyone is going to play the same way. But never say "you can't do it any other way," only a Sith deals in absolutes.
@LionxoftGoing into a dungeon with 4 naked templars is probably possible but it's not effective.

Well, I've only been playing since PC launch day (no early access because I didn't get a chance to install earlier than launch day), and I picked up the game with no MMO experience purely because it's an Elder Scrolls game. And I've loved it since day one.R1ckyDaMan wrote: »Anyone with no MMO experience who picked this game up cos of the TES in the name will be really angry I think, by TES standards its total rubbish imo.
Maybe. Or maybe it grew on them and they've been playing since early access. Who knows? :-P

I've done it with my nightblade because my armor broke down completely and I decided it wasn't worth replacing just for two levels. :P@LionxoftGoing into a dungeon with 4 naked templars is probably possible but it's not effective.
We have a group called "The Naked Nords" and we do PvE group content and PvP, you guessed correctly, naked.
It's actually a lot of fun and the added challenge of playing without any substantial armor bonus is a refreshing (albeit sometimes a bit chilling) bonus.
There aren't many who can claim to have faced Molag Bal naked and lived to tell the tale ...

I wasn't naked! I was still wearing armor for looks, it just had 0 armor value.traigusb14_ESO2 wrote: »I've done it with my nightblade because my armor broke down completely and I decided it wasn't worth replacing just for two levels. :P@LionxoftGoing into a dungeon with 4 naked templars is probably possible but it's not effective.

No wonder he is so mad and wants to kill everyone... naked people keep stalking and attacking him! Show a Daedric lord some respect! sheesh
