Yes that would bumb me out as well. While I would like to think there is a logical reason for it and give ZOS the benefit of the doubt(I have done that before and been burned) I do not think there is one.
I love character names and seeing other folks character names. There's a reason a ton of us were rdy to log into the game during early release 1 hour earlier than planned (they stealth opened the game 1 hour early) to create 8 characters with names that we wanted to reserve. They are a huge part of an MMORPG imo.
But, maybe ZOS is equating the console community to the CoD community that doesn't care about such things. I just don't know.
