Gta for PS3 was down for two weeks and for the last 5 years every mmo I've played has been screwed on launch

Hey speaking of bad launches ...You guys remember GTA 5?? That was 2 Smooth opening week's... Hey Bethesda, you can't call it a mega server,If were all having a problem logging in & playing it!!

It is frustrating for sure when you want to log in and the queue just says you are 1 second away. That is my only issue so far. Am I 2 hours away and I should just go to bed or am I 10 minutes away and stick it out? So for my 1 second away has been as long as 45 min while I puttered around and did laundry etc.

I've also been around mmo's since Ultima Online (Napa Valley!), EQ (Cazic Thule) etc. etc. and yes, the first week of any of these launches is always like this. While that does not perhaps make it right, it is unfortunate and in a few more days things should smooth out. Now if after a month we are still having these conversations then I will be a little more vocal

DAoC was pretty smooth.. There was the odd server crash here and there, but all in all pretty good.
I think there's an effort to update DAoC. Might be worth checking out.

I've been gaming for 35 years and I've owned every console and PC MMO.

This crap about there being server issues with every launch, is just fanboys trying to defend their game.

FFXIV and DCUO never had server issues. I have never, to this day, had to wait to log in. I've never been in a login que.

And your forgetting 1 very important point. This IS NOT a new game. Its been out for over a year. Plenty of time to get their megaservers in line.

The problem is with Zenimax. A law firm, trying to act like a game developer. This game got horrible reviews for PC. That's why they dropped the subscription. They're trying to save their game.

This game is a mess.

@ZOS should have concentrated on fixing the game instead of changing to B2P. If you(ZOS) don't fix the CORE ROOT OF THE ISSUE, PEOPLE WON'T STAY TO PLAY EVEN IF IT IS FREE......

I will agree, but love the comments "you've never been a part of a launch before" i guess makes it ok for a company to put out complete garbage......I understand there will be bugs and kinks but geez do any of these companies get it? Can they see anything other than dollar signs?

I love the ominous feel of this becoming more and more pay to play content as I progress.....i'm trying to give it a chance but am very close to the tipping point of them disabling the game and crediting my money back

they were planning on dropping the sub at some point regardless of the reviews, they even stated that in multiple interviews

The fact they even considered a sub fee show's you how out of touch they are.....

Not necessarily. Old school tactic? Sure. It would have been fine if they actually delivered on their promises though.

Since you needed to qualify it twice, "compared" and "infancy", I'll stand by my statement. It had issues. There have been fewer drops in ESO on the console than I had with the original EQ.

D3 was awful on PC. Didn't hear much about what happened when it went live on console though.
