slight disappointment or just me?

so i have the imperial edition on xbox one and im not sure if its due to level - currently 8 - or its just how the game was made, but i was expecting a updated and online version of skyrim.

i cant loot everything
it seems impossible to find goods (armor, weapons, etc)
i constantly get attacked by guards if i have a small bounty
i cant kill the guards
i cant fast travel
i have access to my imperial horse yet i cant ride it
the setup is weird (which is understandable because its new)
leveling up takes forever
i cant upgrade items/skills easily (setup is weird)
freeroam is awkward
i dont notice armor on my character but it shows him fully decorated while i choose which character to play as in the load/log in

but really i was expecting the game to be a bit more similar to skyrim... maybe its because it wasnt bethesda but i feel kind of off playing. again it could just be that i am not leveled up enough to really enjoy to its full extent but in skyrim you nearly had fun instantly. with eso it feels so foreign

leveling up takes forever 16 hours till 50 and ~ 3 days from 1 till v14 (with AOE grind./skipping quests)

but really i was expecting the game to be a bit more similar to skyrim... maybe its because it wasnt bethesda but i feel kind of off playing. again it could just be that i am not leveled up enough to really enjoy to its full extent but in skyrim you nearly had fun instantly. with eso it feels so foreign

And this is another reason why THERE NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER THREAD FOR CONSOLES. Or I've just been trolled. If it's the latter, my hat's off to you sir/ma'am.

You'll get used to it. But if you think leveling takes too long now, wait until you reach Veteran level. You'll need 1,000,000 xp for each new level.

Is this a joke or are you for real? This isn't Skyrim Online. It's an MMO based of the entire series/story. That's it.

You went wrong as soon as you thought this game would be an, 'updated and online version of Skyrim.' This is TESO. A MMORPG. Far removed (apart from the ES' universe and a few other things) from Skyrim.

I find the problem with people who expected "Skyrim online" is that they're NOT Elder Scrolls fans. They're Skyrim fans, and it was most likely the only game in the series they've played. They've not ventured into Morrowind or dabbled in Oblivion. Skyrim was it, and it's Nords or nothin'.

But because of that, people have this odd misguided concept of what the Elder Scrolls series is... and expect Skyrim, and ONLY Skyrim, and it sets them up for disappointment.

I don't know where all those people hear this is an "online version of Skyrim".
It is a MMORPG based on TES lore, its just like guild wars and WoW, not like a single player TES title.

At this point you can loot most things including food, weapons, and gold stacked on a desk in the open. What are you not able to loot?

Kill enemies, loot treasure chests, make your own.

You have what's called heat. At its highest you are kill on sight. At its lowest guards will only try to arrest you if you go near them. If you try to flee, you are immediately kill on sight, even if your bounty was only 10g.

They are immortal, it's the only thing that gives the justice system some teeth in this world you share with other players. At least until they add a PvP component to the system.

Yes you can. You use wayshrines, most towns will have one. You can use your map and travel to any that you have discovered, but it'll cost a small fee. You can go to the nearest wayshrine directly or travel to a group/guildmate for free.

Select it in your collection menu.

Most of the rest is just learning a new game, this isn't Skyrim II.

The greatest misconception is that this game is Skyrim Online. It isn't. It's an MMORPG set in the Elder Scrolls World.

Actually that train went by a few months back.

The new circle of terror are spreading the word the ZOS are marketing this game as a "New version" of ESO and are counting on all of the "Is it skyrim"kiddies buying it.
Throw in a few thousand $20 transfer purchases and you have a great cash grab right before it goes full FTP....

The innermost circle of these people are even saying that this is exactly why "The road ahead" was basically all but removed...

The conspiracy is strong in this one. This is the ultimate version of what a ton of mmorpg players are starting to fear with a lot of games because of some of the direction we see games go. I don't feel this way, and I'm not sure if you do either but it's weird that it's plausible to some of us.

When this game released on PC at first, I thought levelling was slow. But now I've got a lot more experience I can usually get to VR within a week or so, as you learn more you'll be able to level quicker (IF you want too). Some people like to enjoy the experience and become Immersed and just take it slow (Which I done on my Main).

As for the "Can't kill Guards". It would be exploitable if you could, people would group to kill them and people would just take murder most NPC's and Steal everything with ease (Which does sound awesome anyway), but they have to be un-killable really.

Not sure why you cannot ride your Imperial Horse? Is it a glitch?

i was commenting that i was familiar with how skyrim played and by familiar i mean how the game was designed and set up. if i offended someone then oh well, nobody in the world gets along all the time. and for those of you talking crap about pc versus console? learn to read because i said it was on xbox one from the beginning. unless you have useful advice to give, then please refrain from commenting and making yourself feel like "a boss" for "trolling" someone on a forum. we are all obviously playing these games because we all have a general interest in them. be respectful of that at least.

Speaking for myself

1- My intent wasn't to "troll" I genuinely did not know if you were for real or not with "i was expecting a updated and online version of skyrim" and "but really i was expecting the game to be a bit more similar to skyrim..." so *I* did not know if you were trolling us or not.

2- My signature was in place before today and had nothing to do with console release, had to do with "Skyrim ideas" threads for a year plus and just happened to fit how the OP initially came across.

3- your OP comes across asking for Skyrim Online because of your wording, it's not fair to get mad at people for taking your meaning at what you initially said. If you had stated in the OP a little more clearly, maybe people would not have misunderstood.

I don't mean to be offensive, but just to give you a heads up it seems and this is just my opinion that on these forums you have disgruntled PC users and to some degree I can understand why they are disgruntled. For us this game has been out for a little over a year, so pretty much everything that Xbox and PS4 user is going to post people have already voiced their complaints more than once, more than twice, repeatedly again, and again. Again I'm not trying to berate you or disavow your opinion in any way.

Also keep in mind that about 90% of the content on these forums is needless complaining and poison (not saying that yours is) and people on here tend to be very jaded when it comes to a lot of comments on here. Just something to keep in mind when you do post on here. Best way I can describe Elder Scrolls Online is that its a movie based off of a book, that book being the single player Elder Scrolls games. You are going to get things that are Elder Scrolled themed and then you are going to get creative licensed stuff in game also. I myself happen to like this MMO not because its Elder Scrolls but because I like what this MMO has to offer.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and give a jaded comment to this, its probably because they just started to play the game since its an xbox user and well don't know about you but common sense is going to dictate your probably going to see a lot of posts by console users that PC users made first few weeks/months of the game.

exactly...also ton of reviews..this dude probably play a mmo for the first time so he is confused by the mmo system..in my opinion it is still good mmo with ES universe as flavor..which is fine to me.
