Nope no plans, games perfect in zos eyes, however they will be adding a "quick chat wheel "....Lord_Arkala wrote: »As a veteran eso player since beta of last year i love this game and am awaiting console release. That being said......

Add-ons were never an option
There is a group of players who do not favor the need of adding a cumbersome keyboard to the Xbox one
While text chat works for PC it's not an ideal addition to console and having played it on console adding text chat would be a negative vs a positive due to all that comes with adding such a feature.
PC suffers from it and those who are expecting a PC like experience if added have to realize that is not the reality.
Give the game an opportunity to be different for those who don't prefer PC gameplay who are more open to console like gameplay

When did the gameplay change? Pretty sure all games use the same action combat....
Thats why they sold us the pc version a year ago and told us they wouldnt be downgrade for console ..
Also you dont need a "physical keyboard " to type letters into ps4/xbone there is a onscreen keyboard that works fine. Especially for small text like : "vr14 templar heals lfg to raid AA " gee ivwould eally need a keyboard to type all that .... Guess we will ignore the fact keyboards ARE supported for naming guilds and characters ...lol hope the players can get thru it without a keyboard ....
Text chat cant add anything negative, you see its OPTIONAL on pc where as console you dont get a choice! Regardless of what you were SOLD a year ago.
Console actually will have text based chat, just not chat logs. They are creating an entire new system, the "quick chat wheel "
So ya know you can have chat bubbles with people in range of the forced voice comms .... Seeing a pattern yet? Lol

Forget the addons they don't impact too much.. but the no text chat does that one is a killer.

I hunted all skyshard without a map or addon, not impossible.
I also maxed every skill in Oblivion and Syrim without a Exploit or Cheats, not impossible

I personally plan to play completely differently when I'm on console. Console is going to be treated more like a third person action adventure game.

How am i gonna find customers or ask for group? Without the chat.. we do need that .am i supposed to stand at the entrance in davon watch screming materials for sale! .. xD it does sound funny but still. Not everyone has a mic the chat is an important element for mmo's .. sure the voice communication is awesome but its more for a group kind of thing.
I think zos is having a little experiment on how we will manage without text chat.. payed subscription for features not to take away something that is supposed to be in the game. Why can't they just leave it at that and prevent more people getting mad over this. Im sure im not the first

Cyrodiil was likely the selling point for the no text idea. Zos is probably banking on consoles being more PvP and small group focused. It'll work fine until people need to trade.Lord_Arkala wrote: »As a veteran eso player since beta of last year i love this game and am awaiting console release. That being said......

If your biggest concern is communicating with the world and groups that are larger than 8, then you'll be just fine. The in-game chat system lets you talk to the world around you, and also lets you communicate with your 24-man groups. I spent the majority of the beta weekend pvping with 20-24 people, and every single person was in the group voice chat. I did have to mute the 1 guy who was constantly blaring death metal though

I would suggest watching the ZOS Twitch stream today where they will be playing PS4 console and answering Twitch questions via chat. It's a Sticky, post a question there.
Ask your questions to them directly.
This topic has literally been covered way too many times on this forum and we have to accept what we're getting on console now. Maybe after feedback, ZOS will make adjustments for text chat. I can assure you there won't be addons. There may be UI enhancements that will be added to the ESO UI, but that most likely will have to be added to both PC and Console.
