    B) nah. I agree text chat is a much bigger issue.

I don't think it would be much fun to hunt for skyshards if an addon was telling me exactly where they are. No challenge, no fun.

Also, wouldn't the question of whether addons will be available on consoles be better posed to the companies who make the consoles? Aren't they considered third-party software?

Fun is relative. Hardware configurations for consoles are not. Nor are they variable. It's more a matter of performance. Limitations on the design of the system's hardware will most likely prohibit modifications of the program.

Edit: Consoles, in general, (yes, even the new ones) are very strict on the amount of programming they can utilize. Part of that is intentional on the proprietor's part and part of it is due to the limitations of the hardware. There's a reason we use this phrase. It's not just to be obnoxious.

@ to get stuff sold. Its horrible, even the AH has become a disaster because of a search limit so posters list one item 400 times rather then stacks. You end up with 400 items from the same poster.

If ESO put in a text chat for console this can be the expected outcome. If they ever decide to I would want an off button and an emote that lets you stand their shaking your head like Lee Trevino in happy gilmore.

I think the problem is because most console players have no clue about online etiquette, chat use, or even add-ons because they have never played a proper mmo before. Most only care about lag or how fast they can get into a map so they have only ever scratched the surface of what pc players have come to expect or take for granted.

The same is true for hardware if all you have ever known is vanilla and 30fps there is no demand on devs to provide more.

Having played the BETA and PC, I personally enjoyed gameplay more without text chat at all.
    Add-ons were never an option

There is a group of players who do not favor the need of adding a cumbersome keyboard to the Xbox one
While text chat works for PC it's not an ideal addition to console and having played it on console adding text chat would be a negative vs a positive due to all that comes with adding such a feature.

PC suffers from it and those who are expecting a PC like experience if added have to realize that is not the reality.
Give the game an opportunity to be different for those who don't prefer PC gameplay who are more open to console like gameplay

ive never been more satisfied with a comment until i seen you post this. exactly my thoughts as well!

You can just run pc version, pop up skyshards addon and take a screenshot of each area. Then print the screens and have them near you while playing on console..use the "set destination" feature to navigate to skyshards. Is not more than ~20 pages. You can do the same with Lorebooks and destinations.

I am not suggesting do this, as it will kill the sense of exploration, but you definitely can do that if you are addicted to addons :)

Or just click google on your console and type eso sky shard and snap it to your screen or just leave it underneath.

Two things that i am sure won't come to eso console and i am so happy about.

    1. Addons thank you Microsoft and Sony
    2. Chat box thank you ZOS

If you want these stay on the pc and leave us be. :)

I was being facetious with skyshard addons. Guild tools, banking, and market addons, however, are very serious detriments. Guild tools could be managed with web based solutions or smart phone apps, but banking and trading are going to be problematic.

Pro text chat just for ease of zone communication or asking quick questions without going to a forum

Anti add on because I want things to be standard on console where the actual gameplay is even for all and you don't need to worry about others basically having auto buff add ons and all the like

No text-chat was/is obviously somekind of PR-stunt. Its coming down the line.

Not so sure at this point but we will see be nice to just have it included in a companion app and be done with it. It's out of the way for those who don't like it, it doesn't clutter up the screen, and it's easier to send messages with my phone keyboard compared to any controller chat anyways.

just curious, can't you just download the addon lua files and put it under the game directory like the PC version???
