The moment ZOS added that horror into the game we knew the lore is meaningless to them if they can turn a quick buck by breaking it entirely .. I expect we'll see the same fatuous attempt to justify this thing as well.

I would have been perfectly fine with a Draugr horse, but this I don't get.
ZOS probably won't come up with an explanation, but maybe we can? That's what the lore community does, after all.

The closest thing this reminds me of are the original Volkihar vampires of Skyrim, which are said to be able to walk through ice.

Another lore breaking mount yippy lol its just a recolored version of the other one.

Zos atleast put in some effort like :

His whole body needs to emit an instense aura of cold.
If he truly is a popsicle horse then he would have shards of ice forming over his skin and breaking each time he moved.
He should look closer to an undead horse think of it in the way the Lich King "Arthas" Brought sindragosa (his dragon of bone and ice) into the world.

Which is exactly the point. There are enough strange or cool-looking mounts in the lore, but they would require some more work than just reskinning what we already have.

It's pretty but I would not want to make my characters ride around on a horse-shaped block of ice and freeze their rear ends off.

As much as I like lore-friendly stuff, I also like cool stuff. This is cool. The coolness outweighs the need for lore-friendliness. You also have to remember that at a certain point, it's a videogame.

Besides, you shouldn't underestimate the ability of people to make things fit within any given videogame lore. As the leader of one of ESO's oldest RP guilds, I should know.

Nah the sea serpents are closer to water snakes they can survive both land and sea terrain.

So if we would have airplanes in the game you can fit them in the lore too?

It might be "just" a videogame, but if I play TESO and I see Huey, Dewey, and Louie selling armors in Cyrodill something is wrong. No matter how much imagination you have.

And how "old" is oldest? Game is about 1 year old. All rp guild I know are formed before the release so maybe 1.5 years.

Fun Story. The only reason I didn't get the Fiery Steed mount is because the red would clash with my Temps and Sorcs blue aurora with Inner Light.

I'm very tempted to purchase this steed as it will fit better - but then - I'm also very concious that something better will come around the corner in 2-4 weeks that I think - that is even better.

And before you all class me as a "ZOS Fan Boi buying everything" I still have 1300 coins left from my original 3 mths subscription going back to January

I find it more interesting the riding skill upgrades only granting 1 skill upgrade and not the max amount... like you have to buy 180 riding skill upgrades via the crown store... WTF!?

What they really need to start dOing is making each mount unique animation wise.
This one has some cool stuff they could do:
When you Are forcefully dismounted by an attack make him shatter
When you call him have him materialize via mist particles
I want to see breathe
Small trail of ice when sprinting
Etc

Another addition that is a triumph of "cool" over actual substantive content.

I hated the fire horse because I knew I would be seeing if everywhere after its release... and I do.

I hate this for the same reason.
