    Hitting someone with the rim of the shield seems more damaging than the face.
    Maybe leave the bug as is? (I have not logged in to see it in action yet)

    Some shields do this, other don't. Dwemer and Altmer styles do, but my friend who has a Breton style shield blocks and bashes like normal.

    Correction, seems to only affect female characters; male characters block/bash like normal.

    Possibly related, my tanking character ran into a fun visual glitch that occurred on weapon swap. Swapped from resto staff to sword and board. The resto staff (altimer) appeared at the feet and then swapped to the right hand.

    So while I was using sword and board, I appeared to be using my resto staff like a sword. When blocking, would just raise left arm w/o shield to block. Worked out well with taunt stab. Only affected my client as my party members saw the proper visual.

    Numbers were all the same for combat, so only a visual glitch.

    Went away after wayshrine travel though.

    @CaptainOblivious yeah my sorc bugged out on a dolmen, furiously trying to swap weapons resulted in too many weapon swaps and took me a bit to realise my 2 hander was actually my staff, so i switched to "2 hander" and pulled out my staff... which i then proceeded to smack daedra in the face with..... animation actually worked really well... would love the option!!!

    My redguard female is bashing her own face in when she blocks with her huge breton shield.
