No Content For A Few Months, No Road Ahead...Why Continue Paying For A Subscription?

I loved this game, and will play here and there but until we get new content I can not justify staying subscribed or paying one more cent to a game that is making us PC players content starves for X amount of months. Perhaps if we return the neglect back at ZoS we can get them to pay a little attention to those who pay to help the game. It is clear the minor bonuses we get a subscribers is not worth $15 bucks at all. I pay to help the game, and they seem to repay us with nothing but grind stalling CP system.

I love the game, but would like some attention from the devs so we are not content starved...

So, now that you have made the grand finger gesture, when does your membership actually run out?

I ask because this situation is not news, we are likely on the eve of them starting to talk about what is coming up next, and we know that Imperial City is coming.

Will you make the same grand announcement when you resubscribe? Will you even be out of ESO Plus before then?

I'm not sure it is really news if anyone cancels. You don't really lose all that much unless you really want the crowns anyway so might as well get the slight perks for getting them via sub.

I continue to sub for one reason only I love the game and want to support it so it gets better. Don't get me wrong I hate a lot of stuff they did to PC/MAC players but the game still rocks and NOT WoW!

7 Days, and yes I certainly will make a "grand announcement" about my resubscription when they add new content, js
Don't worry, those silly whales with too much money will be more than happy to keep the money coming in for those that leave. You can count on that. When the consoles release, those damn lazy whales will pay for all those shortcuts in the cash shop as well. They will get a huge increase in profit once June hits.

So we get no content because our money is not enough or good enough?

Have we not known about Imperial city for a long time now?

Also, yes, i am happy to post announcements on positive things when ZoS, you know, does something of that nature.

Unless someone is leveling a character there is no reason to subscribe ATM. Only if they make purchasing a dlc very expensive it should be better to buy the content rather than rent it.

Why, yes, oddly enough, we have. And they have mentioned it recently, too.

The crown store gets a lot of comments like that, but I would imagine that more than one player has already purchased every mount, pet, and costume in the store. ZOS could take them out of the store and they would have missed the opportunity. There are a lot of things in the store that people will pay money for, mostly pets, mounts, and costumes. A few people in the forum complain about the store, but the SQUEE! I hear in the real world when something new hits the store tells me that these things sell.

ZOS... if I might make a suggestion on this note. The limited time senche was a good idea, but I think you could get a little more panic and a much higher sales rate with a limited quantity sale. The first 500, 5000, or whatever people get the mount and then it won't be available until the next time it is offered. Use the senche numbers as a baseline and add to that to get more sales from the event.

You need items that people will purchase multiple times..right now there is nothing in the crown store that would do that. Potions and food were terrible solutions to that problem as they are so easy to make in game and so much better

    Don't worry.

They announced last ESO live they are now putting all resources into developing Underwater Combat.

Because.. like who needs to fix lag in Cyrodil, release Imperial City or Wrothgar, Justice PvP, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood or anything else that has been promised for a year now.

    LIke.. cause Underwater Combat...

This i is a whale lol

But to feed a whale you need items worth buying and remember costumes and pets don't cut it for us whales.

We like things like player housing where we can buy things for it for crowns.

When the next Crown Store announcement is:

"Ride into battle on a giant shrimp mount, and don't forget your new plankton pet, available for a limited time only."

    I'm blaming you.

I to have also cancelled my membership, but let me clarify one important point: I have no intention of quitting the game any time soon...or even later for that matter.

This was simply a decision based upon my own finances and what's being offered in the crown store.

My sub ran out on May 6th...yet I still play the game on a regular basis.

It's simple really. Currently there is nothing in the Crown store that I wish to purchase. I have 500 crowns left on my account, and there is no DLC that I need to purchase to have access to. While having crowns added to my account on a monthly basis is not a bad thing, it's not a deciding factor.

Should something be added to the Crown store that I wish to purchase or some DLC is released, I'll do 1 of 2 things: I'll resubscribe for 6 months, or I will purchase a set amount of crowns and then get what I need. In both cases, ZOS will get my money.

Honestly, I feel that the option to continue with a premium membership OR alternately just purchase what I want to use on a case by case basis is more preferable to me.

    I didn't realize ESO was a Charity.

Here I was the whole time thinking they provided like some kind of service, and actually planned on following through with what they sold us on.

Had I known ESO was a Charity the whole time, I would still be subbing. Silly me.

I'm keeping my sub so I can accumulate crowns to eventually buy things that I want in the store.

Plus.... it's $15/month... if 50 cents a day has you tight for cash maybe you should be doing something other than playing the game.

When the consoles release, those damn lazy whales will pay for all those shortcuts in the cash shop as well. They will get a huge increase in profit once June hits.

The primary feature of the subscription is missing in action still, which is advertised as access to ongoing DLC updates. Once they begin releasing things worth paying for like zones and minigame packs, and fix long outstanding issues like the beyond basic (honestly very subpar and not even compact by default but huge) user interface, I will resubscribe and shovel cash over for crowns more than I already had left over (I have 8900 on my account and have made no purchases of them directly) and start spending the ones I have. Not a second sooner. I pay for goods delivered, not potential. Given the Imperial City was due out last year and was slated to be part of the game as it was meant to release ages before the buy to play thing was announced, this is even more true.

I already paid for it as far as anyone could realistically be concerned ($300ish in game time and other associated items like the physical imperial edition game), but I am not holding my breath on it being provided to current owners. With that context, I'm definitely not going to pay more right now when it's not even released yet and other major problems like the veteran XP leveling from anything but monster grinding in pve or in pvp, or the UI. Give us the goods, fix these long running problems, and I will start paying again even if they do charge for the Imperial City. Fix those problems and even then that would be a day 1 purchase from me.

I'm embarrassed I play the game at all. I enjoy the game, but I also hate it. It's like some perverse habit that you have some compulsive enjoyment of....like biting your nails. I dunno.

All I know is if I met someone IRL that played this game I would think less of them and I would be embarressed for anyone to know I play it.

How so? Me playing the game does them no good.

If anything, losing a subscriber would mean even more now ( assuming we don't buy crowns either).

We still require server space. We still fill out support tickets. Etc. ... but we are no longer contributing any money.

If that's LESS meaningful, then this company is even less sensible than I thought. lol

I know what your saying and for the most agree, but believe me there will be people there to pick up where your sub left off, people will buy from the store, I have a few friends that I think have bought almost everything in the store, these are the people that ZOS loves because they are still subbed and spending money in the store, so dropping your sub does not have the same impact it used to have, I am afraid. I have not spent one crown, I still have a sub, I am waiting until I see how they handle the dlc's which will determine if I keep paying or not.

I actually unsubscribed a few weeks ago and before that my playing habits went from everyday to may twice a week. I just couldn't take it anymore. The veteran grind the second time around was the end of me liking the game. The lack of XP and meaningful loot was also a breaking point. As a long time fan of TES the plot of this game was great, main story, the alliance, and fighter/mage guilds. I have not logged in for a while and as of yet there's nothing to bring my back to the game. The DLC's would have to be just as amazing as the game itself for the price, no more 19.99$ DLC's like Skyrim since rare motifs are 40$, looking at the current prices in the crown store. I'm just going to save my money until I hear of something great for TESO: TU or TES6, which is rumored for release in 1st quarter 2016.
