I'm completely torn on Grim Focus morphs
what do you guys like more?
Merciless Resolve, Damage and Snare
or
Relentless Focus, Stamina Regen

I noticed that Deltia had used Merciless Resolve on he Stam NB, but I'm not completely sold.

Whats the community's thoughts?

Thanks a Ton!

Is the damage for this ability improved only by increasing magicka or does it use your highest stat to base its damage?

Well it always deals magic damage and always costs magicka, so I would assume it scales of magic, but I'm not 100% sure.

I am only using the ability for the damage bonus. I cannot pay attention when I need to activate the special attack. The extra stam regen is also nice a bonus.

Thats what I was kinda figuring, I seems to really only proc on boesses too. Ob the other hand, maybe thats the only time to have it on your bar (boss fights).

I use merciless resolve always on my magicka nb, in pve anyway. I love it, i weave the proc in my rotation seamlessly and it crits for high damage, 22k+.

    Wouldn't be without it

Does anybody use this for pvp for anything other than the 8% damage buff? I honestly can't ever see a pvp encounter happening where you get off 7 heavy or light attacks in 20 seconds....and I have pretty much perfected my own animation cancel light attack weave. No way this is happening in any of the fights that I am in.

If your Stamina based, its only use is the stam regen tbh.

Magicka PVE based merciless is good to keep in your rotation. 8% dmg boost and the active helps keep your dps up.

For PvE DPS, once you feel you can pull off the assassins will regularly without resource issues, the Mercilessly Resolve can be a nice spike for magicka or stamina.

To answer an earlier question, it does scale off your higher stat.

Well thats good to know. So most people only use it for damage in pvp if they are magicka based? And in pve is the extra damage of merciless really helpful. I feel like Assassin's will only really procs on bosses, but for the most part even in vet content normal mobs are dead before the proc.

Perhaps outdated question to be making comment, but for me the combination of the 8% damage and Stamina recovery by 10% helps sustained damage in a fight with more than one enemy. Combined with other buffs, it is helpful. Honestly, I've yet to see the spectral bow ready to use, but if you activate it - switch to character view quickly and you will see the stamina regen drop off after it times out. This is direct feedback it is active.

Merciless Resolve damage is still going to scale off of your weapon damage and stamina if those are you highest stats. So many bow NBs using relentless and stacking their points into mighty CP passives...

Poison Injection and Lethal Arrow are both poison damage, therefore will benefit from Thaumaturge and not Mighty. And guess what? Merciless Resolve is magic damage too.... and so is soul harvest, meteor, soul tether, and both morphs of execute

I use Relentless for the stamina regen and damage boost.

I don't make use of the assassin's will attack that often. If i manage to proc it i might use it but i'm not trying to use it.

Relentless Focus if you have it on your back bar.

Merciless Resolve if you have it on your front bar, ranged weapon is helpful to proc it consistantly.

Its pointless to take Merciless Resolve if you put it on your back bar and need to switch to fire it.

For stam NB I think Relentless Focus is overall the better choice.

    Merciless Resolve
For PvE magicka build, Merciless Resolve gives higher dps, so go with that. If you also PvP, you can run Relentless Focus. It's a dps loss in comparison, but really not worth sweating over.

And you will get to use the proc very often when fighting dungeon bosses. Not so much with zone mobs (other than Craglorn). But for those, you can kill them and survive with just Sap Essence and Funnel Health anyway...

I don't run stamblade, so can't say much about that, other than many people I know run Relentless Focus.

It scales off of both now. Main damage = Mighty and dot damage = Thaumaturge.
