Something tells me that the vast majority of people using the "wow you are too lazy to roll another character" argument are below level 50 and have no idea what they are talking about.

I do want to reply to this one Alpha. I understand the discomfort and irritation players feel about racial balance. Like I've said before, I was hit by the Argonian Nightblade Alchemist potion build nerfs of TU/1.6. I've felt the annoyance at game system changes that utterly change the way a character operates (2hander and elemental buffs for sorcs or dk's. Changes to Surge, etc). I'm not unfamiliar with these annoyances, but I think we need to consider the big picture here as consumers. While I understand the desire to want to correct flaws in your character, produced by the game developers changing things at a whim, I think the greater concern is that we are offering to pay them for breaking the game. We are in situations like this actually asking them to break the game, so we can pay them to break the game some more, so we can pay them more to break the game. I for one have no desire to reroll a nightblade to vet 14, just to play a more favorable race. I understand that. Simultaneously, I don't want to pay them for screwing up my Argonian. I want them to fix my Argonian. I made an argonian for a reason, both stylistic and statistical.

This is why I keep saying that I'd rather they did away with passives if they're going to break builds. It bothers me to pay someone for doing a bad job.
You make a really good point here (bolded for emphasis). It looks like the majority of the community in this poll will gladly give ZOS money hand over fist to change their race after ZOS "rebalanced" racial passives. That only encourages them to keep "rebalancing" since it'll be such a good income source for them.

Even though I have no desire to change, even with an Argonian, I get that people might like to change their race for a myriad of reasons and I support most of those reasons. But being forced to pay cash to get the right racial passives to be competitive because ZOS changed the rules and broke peoples' builds (and will probably continue to) just rubs me the wrong way.
Happy All the Holidays To You and Yours!
Remembering better days of less RNG in all the things.

Both are cosmetic and have no place in lore..

A race change has nothing to do with the in-game story or lore. It affects the lore about as much as what type of sandwich I had for lunch.

Race change isn't part of lore-

Go to green shade, there's a Dark Elf that uses a potion and changes his race to Argonian.
You can keep repeating it; it doesn't make it true.

the funny thing is, the people who are against race change have already lost.

Not only has this poll proven most of the players either want race change or do not care either way, which is funny considering the entire reason this exists is because the OP thought that "Against race change" would win a landslide so he could prove a point.

ZOS has already said there WILL be race change in the game, possibly soon, and because it will make them money, it is likely coming soon and not soon(tm).

If you learned in school how to comprehend simple sentences you would know this.

Which school taught you insulting people leads to them understanding your point of view? There´s something like reading between the lines which tells me that you´re the kind of guy who should start to get out and take a walk to get fresh air so that you can see things more relaxed again.

Well that was your first mistake....thinking you know what kind of guy I am. First you said I take the game too serious next you said I need fresh air to relax. Would you not also take offense?

It has nothing to do with insulting people to see my point of veiw. I insult people solely if I have been insulted. When I post it is my own personal opinion. It's not some vendetta or hidden agenda against anyone or anything. It's just my opinion.

Let's be honest, the change of racial abilities make not more sense than when a character changes the race. So they shouldn't rebalance races too often, but whenever they do - yes, let us switch.

I agree that changing racials fundamentally doesn't make sense. I would prefer that they have one last stab at balancing them and then never touch them again. At that point I would probably accept a one time race change... but to include the mechanic as something a person could pick up at any time? I can't help but see that as a mistake as we now will be in the position of funding them for creating imbalanced, and ever changing, racials.

It certainly does seem that way. Does that give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside? Because the precedent that this sets, and the behaviour it is likely to encourage, scares the Oblivion out of me with regards to getting quality content out of ZOS in the long-term.

I don't know, call me stupid, but I think it would be awesome if races wouldn't give much except for the looks. That way everyone would feel happy playing the race he likes visually. Or at least give them passives that would help different builds, not just one. Like we could choose between 3 different clans of Bretons, for example, one dedicated to each resource. Just a thought.

Balance isn't enough because balance will be in a particular direction. If someone at launch chose a Stamina-oriented race and then realized at veteran ranks what that involved and needed a change to a Magicka-oriented race, balanced races isn't enough.

And I doubt races could ever be really balanced without making them very similar.

I think this would be great. If the differences were minimal race wouldn't matter. It's the noticeable advantage some races get that creates the frustration.

Race change is not a lore issue. The change will not be backed by the story. It's akin to using console commands or a mod to change your race in skyrim.

It's a metagame desire, which you're free to cast good or bad opinions towards with the issue, but there is no need for lore backing (even though there is precedence for it within the game) since it's not a lore issue.

They will be daft if they do not. It will cost a bit imho, but even myself going to change at least one toon.

My Khajiit Templar main, he will remain as is though, since I am fond on this little bugger even if he is magicka spec Tank/Healer.

I'm fine with them costing a ton of crowns, but there was that awful period where Nords lost their signature tanking passive that almost made me delete my main.

But I'd much rather see name changes introduced into the store. Too often I have to delete and restart a character over and over until I get the right mix of race/class/look/faction that I want for a particular name; it'd be much easier if I could just rename the right mix later.
