    I dont know why do they have to f**k with this game... I remember the times, at the early start of our journey, there was no lag. Aprox pre/after 1.2 lagfest started and i left the game, only to come back and face the same shjt yet again :)))... so beatiful.

    Id like team based pvp if it were added, such as a 10 v 10. game i came from had warring clans and we set up these wars with each other at x time y date and duked it out. lot of fun.

    Ya just to chime in, I like the idea of arenas but if they are to be competitive they can't be 3 way; just team vs team or there will be a lot of skulduggery.

    And I don't get all the people saying that it'll force ZOS to rebalance the game, is balance between classes not what we want? Isn't getting balance in 1v1 combat or 2v2 or 3v3 one step closer to getting balance in Cyrodiil?

    I would take some time to read the above posts. This is already a finished product. It would just need to be implemented. There would be minimal time invested in getting this into the game. If you scroll up, You'll see videos I have posted of the 3v3v3 being used at cons.

    Allright let's clarify some stuff here that people seem to desperately focus on in this thread and that makes no sense at all.

    I don't like arenas, I play Teso for the large scale battles

    Keep playing large scale battles. Respect the interests of the others. Tastes can't be discussed.

    Instanced PVP is going to ruin Cyrodiil

    Once Zenimax finds a good system to fix the population balances in Cyrodiil, they could easily adjust the amount of campaigns out there to fit with the number of players missing and playing in arenas / battlegrounds.

    Once arenas and battlegrounds are well established into the game, it will inevitably create, like the move to B2P, a new wave of new players or old players coming back to try instanced PvP. Afterward, once the popularity of the game has grown large enough, devs could re-introduce the missing campaigns. All that matters is to keep at least one or two campaign competitives (vet / non vet) with a great balance system.

    Arenas and battlegrounds are all about smashing buttons

    It's like saying that it requires more skills to play one game of Wintergrasp than playing one 2800 rated Warsong Gulch. Go experiment it once, then talk. Nothing else to add here. Bring some arguments to your point at least, because I don't understand it.

    I don't want the game to be balanced on 1v1 or 2v2

    No one said that the game had to be balanced this way. Some games with arenas and battlegrounds try to balance a 3v3 fight. This is only one example, I personally think that the balance is great the way it is at the moment. All classes can do pretty well in their own way already in 1v1, 2v2 or 10v10.

    The only factor which can ruin a good fight with equal numbers is the big monster out there.. always lurking around any fight.. mister LAG. In instanced PvP, it would be completely GONE!

    Zenimax will do it only if they can monetize it

    I'm pretty sure that arenas and battlegrounds will bring thousands of players. Let say that 5% Of them subscribe, another 10% buy crowns and 80% talk about the game and their experience of the lag free instanced PvP to all their friends, what else do you need Zenimax ? It would not only satisfy a large amount of players, but it would also remove some pressure on your shoulders to fix the performance issues in Cyrodiil, but it would also increase your profits. DO IT!

In other words, the code was so badly introduced in the beginning by the developers that at this point, it would require alot of ressources and time to rebuild everything from the beginning in a more "modular" way. They said that they won't give up and will still work on it as much as they can. In the mean time let's be realistic tho. Is the best solution to keep hoping that they fix the system the next week, month, year while getting frustrated over and over again in large scale battles or to try to satisfy a large portion of players and introduce lag free instanced PvP?

    You've noticed the blistering pace at which ZOS releases new content, right? Like a narcoleptic turtle.

    It appears they are severely resource constrained. Content is a zero-sum game. If they add one thing, something else isn't getting done. If you prefer RvRvR over arenas or battlegrounds, a focus on the latter means that RvRvR development stops altogether. Heck, it may even run backwards somehow.

    I'd agree with you except for the fact that this is already finished. It's playable, and It works. Hell, it's already been tested at the numerous cons that it's showcased at. it just needs to be implemented into the game.

    Great video, but uh bro...they aren't going to do jack until the console crap is done and released (in June). Your best hope for any of this (outside of some miraculous lag fix) are about slim and none till like next year. IF that.

    I wouldn't mind some arena or battleground stuff, but they can't even get what they have to run right. Just like everyone else on these forums, I think your dreaming of a game that will never come.

    Thank you for talking for "everyone" but what you just said doesn't quite resume what's been said so far. I suggest that you read again what people discussed in the current thread.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
    • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place
    • Release bigger battlegrounds with 8 to 16 players per team and only two teams
    • Fix the permanent block animation - see examples : link1 link2 link3 link4 link5
    • Gives players 10 minutes to get back into Cyrodiil after relogging / crashing
    • Add a function to ignore the Claiming system of useless rewards
    • Improve the Mailing System / Rewards of the Worthy stacking
    • Assign specific group sizes to specific campaigns (24-16-8)
    • Make forward camps impossible to place near objectives
    • Make snares only available from ground effects abilities
    • Change emperorship to last minimum 24hours
    • Fix body sliding after cc breaking too quickly

    I want the devs spending time on improving cyrodiil, not wasting it(from my point of view) on something that diminishes the open-world-like warfare experience.

    There are already plenty of games that offer instanced PvP. Those that offer something like cyrodiil are few and far between.

    Son, they've been "trying" to improve Cyro performance for over a year... as I said before.... in what world do you think they are actually going to be able to improve it at all? I have a bridge I want to sell you...

    First, i am not your son. And you are probably half my age.

    Second, i do not know whether they will manage to improve cyrodiil performance eventually if they keep working on it or not, but i know it won't be improved if they stop.

    During the last live stream on Twitch, Brian Wheeler mentioned that at this point, the chances to fix the performance issues in Cyrodiil would require to modify the core of the game. In other words, the code was so badly introduced in the beginning by the developers that at this point, it would require alot of ressources and time to rebuild everything from the beginning in a more "modular" way. They said that they won't give up and will still work on it as much as they can. In the mean time let's be realistic tho. Is the best solution to keep hoping that they fix the system the next week, month, year while getting frustrated over and over again in large scale battles or to try to satisfy a large portion of players and introduce lag free instanced PvP?

    Yeah i got the same thing out of it when i saw it before, lag free performance is a year and a half to two years away. And thats only if they actually have someone looking at the code that hard and rebuilding it (doubtful). The engine cant handle whats being thrown at it now, the idea im reading where people want an all stop to all PvP development to adress this... You just have not been keeping up with what the developers have been saying.

    They have NO idea how to fix whats causing 'performance issues', they themselves admitted that. Hardware upgrades will do nothing, since its a pure code based issue.

    Also Cyrodiil's not finished i dont know why other players have been saying as such. To me the missing heart of the zone, Imperial City, being absent means otherwise. Hard to say somethings finished with a hole on the map, and what the entire lore of the game is pointing to is missing.

    Please give us a place in the game where we can fight, and not lag. We all know that place is not Cyrodiil =/

    We've been waiting for darkness to fall for about a year. The central part of pvp is still in development a year out, and the core game mechanics are taxing the server too much for them to rectify it. While I'm glad they can admit that the game needs an overhaul to perform better (network transport packet efficiency and .... cooldowns of some sort even if .2~ second to discourage input spam), why didn't they do this in 2.0 ? Why did they declare that the game was too complex and difficult to understand, and attempt rebalancing when the issue was server performance.

    No. We need refinement of the current system. Do NOT add in arenas or battlegrounds, but instead add in dynamic objectives within Cyrodiil that can serve and quick skirmish centers or what have you.

    Refinement, not replacement!

    No one talked about replacement. Cyrodiil will still exist and be pretty popular no matter if they add Arenas/Battlegrounds or not. I'm pretty sure that most people interested in Arenas/Battlegrounds will still play in Cyrodiil anyway.
