How much would you pay for DLC?

With the crown store in place, I've been looking at the costs of everything and how it translates to actual money.

1500 crowns = ~$15.00
3000 crowns = ~$25.00
5500 crowns = ~$40.00

The dwemer motif is currently 5000 crowns. So we're talking ~$35
The real question in everyone's mind is how much is the downloadable content going to be? How much would you pay for a zone?

I voted $25 but that's a guess as it really depends on what it is.

Basically I'd expect it to be the equivalent to the cost of a single-player RPG. So if they added a whole new continent (or all the rest of Tamriel) with hundreds of hours of gameplay I'd be willing to pay the same price as for a full single-player game.

If it's much smaller, one zone with say 10 hours of gameplay (on average), then I'd expect to pay proportionally less.

Depends on size and what is contained within, if its just one map like Stonefalls for example...$25 is enough, more than that I'll hold till its on sale. What we know from b2p games is it always goes on sale at some point ;)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Realistically the cost to purchase all DLC released during a year would be slightly higher than a subscription for that same year. It's logical since players can pick and choose what they will purchase.

Some DLC may cost more than others. A release with a trial or another arena setuo may be double one with just another vet dungeon.

It depends on how much content is in the DLC. I wouldn't pay anything for forced grouping half zone situations like we got with lower and upper Craglorn. Not interested in having more of that.

But give me a full new themed zone with a good storyline where I'm not forced to group to complete the quests, with delves, dungeons and world bosses, etc, and new motifs and good set crafting stations and I'd pay. Or I might just pick my sub back up for it.

That's not far off what GW2 offers.

Each of their DLC story chapters are 4 or 5 story instances, achievements to do within them and a few items awarded for completing the chapter or the achievements. But then each one costs $2.50.

It will depend on type of content (not interested in solely PvP nor in forced grouping) and size for me as well. Besides that I will try to guestimate if buying the DLC or renting it (via a subscription) is more economical for me.

It really depends on the breadth of the content. If you're talking a few zones and new quest lines, then yeah $40 for an expansion is cool. They can't release something with less content than the base game and expect the full price. If it comes down to $25 per zone, then that's too high.

I picked the absolute maximum I would ever pay for a single zone worth of content. If the price for a single zone is actually as much as $50 though, I would have to think long and hard before deciding if I'm going to make that purchase, and I think an awfully large part of the player base would end up deciding not to buy it at that price point (probably me too - at that price I'd only buy it if it really really interested me). Now for more content than a single zone, like several new zones, or a lot of new questlines and content (maybe a bunch of new endgame raids) within existing zones, $50 is more reasonable, and I'd be potentially willing to pay more, depending on what is included.

For ESO to be successful in the long term, the price point for a single zone's worth of content needs to be at the level where the majority of the players will consider it worth buying. The way to success is to make the existing player base feel like they should get all of the DLC, and to make potential new players think that it's priced reasonably too. What I personally may be willing to spend may be different from what someone else is willing to spend. Because of that, I think the right price point for a single zone's worth of content is actually lower than the $50 that I picked.

Voted but it really depends on what the DLC brings. If it's like update 6 (just justice and CP) then I reckon $25 dollars is about the upper limit. If it's new zones, new features like housing, new armours etc etc - ie: more like an xpac, then maybe a higher price tag.

There's no $15.00 a month subscription fee option. I plan on just staying subbed until I decide not to play anymore, so doesn't seem like it would be worth it for me to buy DLC.

For me I guess it all depends on how much DLC it comes with. If you ever played SWTOR the Hut Cartel DLC was small when it came to the story, so $20 was more then enough for what I got. If there was a large amount of Content for ESO being thrown in all at once I have no problem paying $50. If it is as much content as another game then I have no problem paying an amount of a new game. If it is a small 3 hour DLC then I don't feel like it should be over $25. But that is just my opinion.

Being that this game has no monthly fee I'd be willing to pay upwards to $49.99. I would rather pay the devs for the content they produce. I've played too many failed MMO's that expect people to pay them for producing rehashed nothing. Obcourse that's not directed towards eso, everything I've seen in this game is incredibly detailed and I just hope they spend same amount of time on their dlc.

I don't think ESOs DLC will be as much as in an expansion pack. WoW sales entire islands for $50-$60 as does most MMOs. When ESO says DLC I am thinking of an area the size of one in game zone now or smaller. No way on earth I am paying $49.99 for that.

If DLC is 6-8 zones the size of the ones in game now....maybe.
