IS ZENIMAX EVEN LISTENING?

I have seen a million great ideas posted on these forums. And not a SINGLE ONE has been implemented. So what do you think is the reasoning for this? Is Zenimax listening? Or do they just not care?

I also find this poll ridiculous. This is not your game, nor is it that guy's game, or that guy's game. This is their game, they have a vision for it, they do receive good ideas, but implementation is not as easy as you are assuming it is.

Making an MMO is an extremely complex and time consuming process.
They have their own agenda, schedule and priorities, but they try to include our feedback when possible.

They are already working on another project and have abandoned ESO almost completely. At this point, Console sales are just cash cow before they give up on it entirely.

I'm pretty sure after all the things they *** up ZOS will be disbanded if ESO ever tanks. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, and I love Zenimax, I just wish they would listen.

This is the most responsive dev team on any AAA MMO. they have taken more action on player feedback than I have ever seen a development team take and in a shorter amount of time than most would believe possible.

Zenimax refuses to listen to it's player base.

I remember them saying a while ago they have a 5 year plan or something like that, so they are probably deadset on the content they want to release. They have already announced several major projects like imperail city and orsinium that still aren't done, so unfortunately I don't think they even have the time/resources to start on all the awesome player suggestions for the time being.

well i see them visiting the forum quite often.. i guess perhaps those who visit the forum are unable to give any clear answer of how/when the issue will be resolved.. personally i have some faith in ZM, their customer support have been very helpful so far

The forums are so full of negative comments I would not reply either if I was the devs. The few times they do post they get yelled at. They have has staff cuts and so much negative why should they reply here on the forums. There are a few good ideas but they have months of good ideas of there own to process and not enough devs to do it. They don't have the man power or time to reply and if they do, they get quoted and hassled more if things change so it's safer for them to say nothing

This is just like any other software project in the history of software projects. The creative process was bureaucratized, improvements are made in 'sprints' specifically designed to follow the 'minimum commitment' rule, there is no real metricable feedback mechanism to target improvement efforts, and most of the real development work is probably outsourced to the lowest bidder. None of this is conspiracy, this is any software project ever.

ESO is first and foremost a revenue generating venture. This is why they stopped the subs, because it wasn't profitable enough, and changed their revenue model to depend on flaming horses and wedding dresses. They are less interested in providing people what they want, and more interested in providing people what they will pay for. Again, this is not a conspiracy theory, this is basic business. Ask any marketing department, there's usually a big difference between what people say they want and why they will pay for.

So yeah, they listen but don't really listen. That's how most businesses deal with consumers. As long as there's income, the feedback is not important. When revenue streams decline, changes are made based upon what the consumer will spend money on. So if you want ZoS to listen, you have to speak with your wallet.

Look, I don't think ZOS is as bad as many are making out, but to call them "the most responsive dev team on any AAA MMO" is truly laughable. I've played 7 major MMOs now and I'd say ZOS is about average, perhaps a bit below (in terms of overall responsiveness that is. For communication: F, see me after class).

Another thing I have a good chuckle about is people who say ZOS does or should ignore the forums because they have too many negative comments. Such a laughably childish notion. ZOS is a business. Customers pay them to provide a service. You must pay attention to feedback, in particular the negative kind, else your business will fail. Business 101. I run a small business and if I was so incredibly unprofessional that ignored negative feedback because it hurt my widdle feewings, my business would have gone under long ago.

I agree. The amount of devs working on ESO must have been reduced quite a lot, while the amount of people working for ZOS as a whole seems relatively stable: 473 in January, 448 today according to Linkedin. It's very likely that people have been switched from ESO teams to whatever other project ZOS is working on.

A few questions remain:
- Will ESO be successful enough with the B2P switch on PC and consoles?
- Will manpower be added back to the developing teams if they get enough money from box sales?
- Will this happen before other AAA MMOs get released with better graphics, less bugs and equivalent stories/lore?

Yea.. I can't help but think there are different people with different motivations making decisions on the same things here. If you're smart enough to come up with something like the champion system to solve the problems with the veteran rank system, you're smart enough to understand how having 3600 CP with cash store XP pots completely breaks that system. And I can't imagine anyone writing code or art for something this detailed would be happy with how broken so many things are, yet development effort is pretty clearly aimed at things that will bring in cash in the short term.

Sorry if this constitutes a "conspiracy theory."

The problem is that ZoS is listening but atm the are so focus on console release the are total ignore everything else and we will be happy if see any new content at all this year which i think we will not see which i think is bad for them ESO is go to dead really fast for F2P and B2P game like ESO is not the need more content release to keep it intressed for there playbase but we have see much content release last year it was mostly system and feture update we have got not really 100% pure content.

Go look for Final Fantasy XIV and SquareEnix please. If you see what they are doing and how responsive they are, you could never say that again about Zenimax.

Even Blizzard is more responsive.
