PvP is a big part of MMOs, I just don't think ZOS has implemented PvP the right way for Elder Scrolls fans. I think that many of the people who enjoyed Thieves Guild and Dark brotherhood quests in TES games like the PvP aspects in ESO. Besides you've never had the opportunity to gonk your fellow player over the head with a frying pan. Try it out I n Cyrodil you may like it :)

I already tried PVP in Perfect World International (Got ganked to hell, killed over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over just walking to a quest hub.) Also tried "Siege" in Guild Wars 2, again, ganks and roamers... don't care. Objective camping in Battle arena games, objective camping in TF2, Titanfall, other shooters... no thanks.

I played for 1 month after launch but left because the game was buggy, felt unfinished and was totally over-run by bots. I also couldn't stomach the inventory micro management subgame. These issues overshadowed the fact that the general gameplay itself was fun.

I returned for TU to find that the gameplay remains fun and there's now less bugs and the bots are a lot less rampant. The game is for the most part stable, although the game client seems to crash a lot more now than it ever did at launch.

I'm happy with the way the B2P format has been handled. I like how non subs are not locked out of any content they've purchased and I don't see the Crown Store as an issue the way it is currently implemented. I might even sub if the DLC is good quality when released.

My #1 issue with the game now, is the same as my #1 issue at launch - inventory managment in this game is a nightmare. Too little space (even when upgraded) and way too much clutter of items, mats, trophies etc. Constant inventory juggling really ruins what would otherwise be a very fun questing and exploring experience. Most modern MMOs have realised players don't like inventory micromanagement and introduced systems to alleviate the problem. But not here. ESO seems stuck in the MMO dark ages in this respect and it drags the game down (for me).

As soon as players find something that works devs make something to break it, and think that's progress.

Groups in PVP for example, reason behind siege was to break them up because why? They worked.

Devs need to learn to make real progress.

The differences are barely noticeable. Game is still the biggest let down for me in my 29 years of gaming. And now you get modded for saying something as benign as "zeni makes poor decisions with ESO". Shameful.

@Cernow If you havent, install inventory grid view and advanced filters. Will help a lot. I think 170 inventory is max on a character, and then you have a shared bank. But I agree to some extent. Im not a hoarder, and I have about 40-50 spaces open, rest is used for sieges (must haves), potions, different gear for different build. But a lot better now that you always have a "pack horse".

Idk they are an accepted part of the game and I have been using them for a while and now I am having messages like LUA memory reached and I haven't before.

    Just upgrade it :)

It's in your user settings text file. Open it in a text editor and search for "SET LuaMemoryLimitMB". I bumped mine up to 256 after the f2p update.

Obviously PvP isn't your thing. However while you may prefer to see more PvE content, hoping that no new PvP content is ever added is poor. ES titles and lore are heavily based around the conflicts between faction/races/groups. So PvP is actually very relevant to Tamriel.

I happen to like PvP. I am however not so callous that I wish for the complete abandonment of others' preferred play styles.

I played the game in beta and for the first couple of months after release and was fairly disappointed at the lacklustre gameplay and how 'un-ES' like it was. It scored a 71/100 aggregate from professional reviewers and a 5.7/10 from users, much lower than any other ES game. And I felt these scores were fair - from a professional/technical standpoint I would have given it a 71% and from my experience as an end user, 57%.

Now I've returned, spurred by claims of how much better it is than at release and how TU was a complete rework of ESO.

Ultimately, I'd agree it is better than at release, but not hugely, and also that the core of the game has barely changed. I'd give it maybe a 75% professional/technical score now and a 65% for the overall end user experience.

Better, but still not up to scratch. I really think that ZOS lack the internal culture, imagination and magic touch that Bethesda does, and thus ESO will never capture the public interest that the ES single player games have.

This is a hard call as while some things like provisioning were made better by changes and thieving is a semi interesting alternate way to get gold and/or certain mats (provisioning mostly) there appears to have also been a bunch of stuff that got worse such as frequency of crashes.

Overall I say the game comes out somewhat ahead but lfg issues still hold back things a bit.

Mostly we really just need Wrothgar to get here so there is some legitimately single player end game stuff to do.

    (played since and in beta)

    This exactly.

    Features promised but still missing.
Abilities still broken from beta and beyond. NB's are a joke to play, especially with Oceanic ping.
Basic MMORPG features STILL missing and mod authors doing ZOS' job for them is just slack. Where is a bloody global auction house?! Where are nameplates from beta?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
End game is bland and repetitive.
Veteran levels create gating/barriers between lower levels veteran levels and essentially all level 50's. It should just be champion levels after 50 and that's it.

When they fix something they Always break something else in the game. PvP is still very very laggy, even after 1 year.
There haven't been any new end game content for a really long time. Also the end game content items is kinda bad.

Different play styles are more balanced now though. However... shield stacking is just stupid in pvp, they couldn't have been sober when they decided to have that in the game with no way to remove it.
Also dark cloak is still bugged...

It has exceeded my expectations the game works well
I do PVE on a daily basis in the game, almost exclusively solo, but that is mostly because I just don't do the dungeons and trials. I really don't need to group up. I have not been in Cyrodiil recently, but I used to do it about once a week.

For what I do, the game is incredibly stable. Very little, if any, lag. No random loading screens, crashes, failures when logging in. All of that is terribly rare. To put this into perspective, my biggest and most noticeable bug right now is the horse movement.

For me, it has been this way for a very long time.

So, my inclination is to answer the poll that the game is worse, due to the horse bugs. Because of that, I cannot honestly answer the poll with an answer that is both accurate and interpreted the same by everyone.

Horse bug is a problem, every time I rapid manuvers horse gets stuck tripping on its on feet randomly.

There needs to be an entry between "step in the right direction" and "exceeded my expectations".

Chose "exceeded" in lieu of a decent interim choice.

Seems the poll is biased toward the negative, so meh. OP is not happy so his poll reflects that. Again, meh.

I feel like even after a year the game is still in beta stage.

It was only fairly recently that stamina builds were finally made somewhat balanced (more of a bandage fix that doesn't really fix the underlying problems)(also don't worry, I'm sure all the mages will complain until they're nerfed back into uselessness again, because f*** anything but stick wielders right?). We've only had one new zone, and we only just now received a basic form of thieving.

PvP has received no love aside from occasional balance patches (these are to be expected, you shouldn't praise zeni for merely doing their job). It has been extremely laggy recently, even unplayable at times.

Other content is missing, also misleading content in advertisements not present in the game itself:
    http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-gb/esotu

I like the game but I am very disappointed in more ways than one.
