They said that they hadn't planned on doing consoles until Sony approached them but then I think when they saw the amount of consoles being sold they switched focus. That's why they are taking their time to make a new UI, make sure it actually works, allowed console players to sway them to B2P, and are pretty much letting PC go to crap. So I think console is the real launch not just the rebranding.

Anniversary? It's something that I'm not interested ...

is the only thought that crossed my mind regarding it. I cannot say I was expecting anything, or perhaps I saw the relaunch of ESO: Tamriel Unlimited as the anniversary? Hard to say.

I think it's very likely to have restarted the counter with the release of TESO TU, which was the March 17, 2015.

But currently the console gaming community is not present and perhaps part of the strategy is included as part of the base community to start counting.

That is why the June 9, 2016 can be a possible date for the first anniversary.

You know, being that ESO is going to be on separate servers for Console and PC I honestly don't think it would be too much to ask that the communities be celebrated separately. Why not have a celebration for 1 year now for PC users... and have the 1 year celebration for console players June 09 2016?

If they SERIOUSLY have a 1 year anniversary June 09 2016, it will be really insulting to us PC players.

It is a difficult situation because the community is fragmented into 3 stages.

Those who started to play the April 4, 2014 with TESO ..

Those who began playing the March 17, 2015 with TESO TU.

Those who will start playing the June 9, 2015 with TESO TU (console).

If celebrate the anniversary today April 4, 2015, are excluded from the first celebration console gamers and is clearly a market that want to target.

see this is what angers me alot about eso, its allways this same stuff that happens.
there is expected certain natural things supose to happen and what would seem like normal and to be expected and eso staff simply refuses to do it.
so we ...
1) talk about it
2) feel confused and sadd about it.
3) come to forums and ask about it with zero responce (or if we do get a responce its not good)
4) we then make up our own ideas of what they should do to fix the problem
then lastly
5) we all feel bad as customers and end up totaly confused and upset that nothing at all was done or that they did attempt to fix it but actually made things worse with thier "fix" same thing over and over and over.
i honestly and expecting a bad announcement any time coming up that eso is finished and thier closing thier doors with zero and no explanation.
im sory thats just what i am expecting.

It's not that it's such a big deal in itself, but that it is representative of ZOS's attitude and approach to customer relations in general. Every MMO I've ever played makes a big deal of anniversaries, because it's a smart and effective way to maintain engagement with the community. An MMO is a social entity, it has a community. That aspect needs to be understood and fostered, through things like anniversary celebrations, in-game events etc. ZOS seem to have trouble with that entire concept.

Personaly do not think the game finds its end for this kind of issues in short and medium term. As far as I'm concerned, I would not let go of all that is good about the game for a celebration, but I'm not going to hide it's something I dislike.

It affects my continuity and current support to the game? Currently no.

But these decisions reflect attitudes to follow closely and do not forget in time. Over time it can become more of an anecdote, or it can become a recurring habit begins to profoundly affect the user / company relationship.

The truth is that while the game maintain and improve its quality in other deeper aspects such decisions can be a bad shot in the worst generate a surface damage. But many bad decisions lead to many superficial wounds and as a whole, can become serious.

Sometimes no matter how, but do it.

If not having an event is based on timing issue, priorities, etc, at least they had made a small mention in the official website providing a title for the character or a simple object within the game as a reminder, nothing fancy.

That is sufficient to show a gesture of goodwill and recognition. They are small gestures that eventually accomplish great differences.

I had no time to prepare anything more special, but as they say, the real intention is what counts!
