In game poll.

Yet another trade guild failure today as one of my previously well oiled trade guilds failed for the third week in a row to get a trader, due in part to the previously 'on it' guild leader being MIA (Do hope he is alright, seems out of character for him to just disappear) And a second trade guild to have missed it's bid due to, I am sure, the ridiculous 2 am bid time or whatever/however it is works.

There have been countless threads opened about Auction House vs Current System, the most recent just getting closed down.

I would very much like to see an ingame poll, limited to one vote per account, that opens at log in to see exactly what the player base thinks of the addition of an AH compared to the current system.

Is this a possibility?

Thanks.

I like this idea. Few players read the forums comparatively, and I know of some that read but never comment. An ingame, bust or go home poll would put the matter to rest one way or the other.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Exactly. And I am fairly confident on the matter of the AH the majority of players would vote yes, or at least yes to something other than the current state of trade.

And if not, then all future discussion on the topic on this forum could be ignored.

I have to agree. I have used up all my 5 guild slots and don't have room to put another trading guild in and would really like to...

ZOS traditional argument against an AH is that, because everyone plays on one megaserver, it will trash the economy as even the most rare auctionable items will be quite common. At the moment the various isolated guildstores create an inflated economy as most players are only in competition with about 2,500 other players at maximum in each guildstore market area.

Also just think of the amount of Undaunted equipment there would be! You'd never be able to find what you were looking for.

It's 3500 maximum and no, AH would ruin this game.

Sorry, I just want to point out that this isn't a thread discussing the merits of such a system, just one asking if there is any chance of an ingame poll to see which way it falls.

There are one or two other threads discussing the convenience/inconvenience of the AH vs GT here:

Actually nvm, the list goes on and on and on.

Still, and in game poll I feel would better reflect the views of the playing community as a whole, as generally only a few of a certain type of person posts on the forums.

Only if the ingame poll included a comprehensive listing of the pros and cons of Both systems so players could vote from an Informed position.

An in game poll would be a great way to get an idea on how many people like the idea of a, AH VS GH.

On that note, I seriously doubt that ESO is going to change that this far into the game though. They may make adjustments to Guilds setups but that's probably going to be the extent of it. Their stance on interfering within Guilds is well known. They really couldn't care less whether a Guild we are in has a trader or not.

If they could give us a marketplace or something to go with the guild store system things would settle a bit.

Turn the fencing areas into a common place for trading goods could be great, and link all the fencing areas so that we can chat with people in other fenced areas.. that might reduce the spam in general chats and maybe not having an AH wouldn't be so troublesome.

Would be really awesome if we could instantly travel to any fence via some portal within the fence area. Trade would still be from guild stores but would give us a place we would naturally have to go for instant tgrades as our bank is within the areas as well.

Gw2 plays on megaservers too & they have an auction house. Rare items in that game tend to be exactly that, rare, also expensive. From my perspective a global auction house is a good idea. Doubt one will ever be introduced into this game.
One distinct advantage of an auction house - not needing to trek all over different zones trying to locate guild vendors.

I don't want my in-game time being interrupted by polls. It is annoying enough seeing so many in the forums.

There's a difference between user created polls, that don't matter at all, and official developer created polls, that may change gameplay. I think most people wouldn't feel that much interrupted, if they had the possibility to decide in which direction the game is going.

Yes, they used them quite well in EQ2 to ask about a few things over time, and it takes about a minute to read, and vote.

While a marketplace would be nice I think rather than linking zones they could give us a feature where players can park their character somewhere and open a small store on the fly. Players would be required to purchase a temporary permit allowing them to set up shop for a limited time per day and have a limit of fifteen listings.

It could pop up as soon as you log in, or hell, they could put it on the launcher for that matter. No need to interrupt your game..Plus, in a thread I started on this exact same topic, I suggested that they throw you some crowns, just for your vote. Now, wouldnt that be worth 10sec to vote?

Why would they want to take time away from other things to change something that isn't broken? It's slightly inconvenient but not broken, it is also a huge gold sink to have kiosk being bid on. The kiosks go for millions some times and if this gold stayed in the game the economy would totally change, also for those claiming that the only way to sell cross faction is to have a global AH is not true, join a cross faction trader guild to open up more customers.

They'd have a far bigger hold sink with auction system which actually encouraged trade via the AH cut
