What do you think is missing in the game?

I'm curious, what do people think is missing from the game at this moment?
Be it class based, environmental based or quest based... just write it down.

For me personally its a few of the following things:
Templar:
Healing magic that exceeds any other skill tree (no offence in the Restoring light tree, yet still below the Restoration staff tree that everyone else can access).

Nightblade:
Opening skills. Skills that deal a huge amount of bonus damage if the target is full health or within the first 25% of his life. We can all do sneak attacks, yet the Nightblade (an assassin type class) doesn't gain any bonus damage from this compared to other classes.

Sorcerer:
More summoning in the Deadric Summoning tree. Curses and Wards sounds like things you would find in Dark Magic, not in a tree that has summoning in the name.

Dragonknight:
(0% knowledge about this class, so nothing here)

Soul Magic:
More skills. You start the game, which lets you use 1 skill by default. You finish the game and you get your second skill. The skill ranks up from level 1 till 6, where are the skills for level 2,3,4 and 5?

Main quest:
Option to do the main quest during the Silver and Gold Playthrough. We beat Molag Bal at level 50, yet VR14 is the max level. Kind of sad knowing you beat the boss "halfway through the game".
(Or just a general option to Fight him again ones a day or so... i wanna beat his ass again)

The option to gain (level/ CP) exp through crafting.
Some people like crafting more than combat, yet ones you maxes out the trees you have no real need to continue crafting.

For me these are the first things that come to mind, what do other people think?
(Don't start about Lag, no one wishes that)
Mending-The-Wounded, Aldmeri Dominion, Templar.

Content. It's missing since launch and Craglorn didn't solved that issue. What kind of content? Enticing dungeons, enticing "raids" (not trials), one or two other solo zones with events, invasions, siege fights whatever.

Classes & Combat Complexity. 4 classes is not enough. Whole combat / class system is shallow and boring.

Skill lines. Healers have 1 skill line, that's *meh*.

Open-World feeling. Loading screens are destroying the immersion of an open world although the zones are quite huge.

Better PvP. ESO was advertised as a PvP game but it isn't. Cyrodiil may be huge but it gets boring pretty quick. Arenas / Battlegrounds are missing.

Cross-faction zones. There is absolutely no reason why there are none of them besides Cyrodiil.

Performance quality. Do I need to say anything about that?

"Polishing". Game is 1 year old and didn't feel polished yet.

Story & Lore. Cadwells Silver & Gold are a joke.

UI. ESO has by far one of the worst MMORPG-UIs ever developed. This game needs an entire UI revamp.

But maybe the most important part that's missing... is: Soul. ESO has no soul. That's it. No true ES game, no true MMORPG. Two souls mingled up in a corpse don't make a great game.

    - A working group search tool

    - Small scale objectives in PvP

    - Content/activities designed for VR 14 characters to get Champion Point XP (I personally don't mind farming monsters to gain XP, I think that's more enjoyable and relaxing than doing the same instance 100 times per day - even though I like doing instances as well and Catacombs was one of my favorite instances long before Update 6 so that was fun, for me at least -, but there's not that many good spots now and some of them are really crowded already and when they're crowded they're not good spots anymore; this will probably get worse as more and more people will try to find the most efficient way to gain Champion Point XP with their VR 14 characters and in the end the best spot might be some instance again that has to be reset every few minutes which makes half of my playtime loading screens again ><).

Before hoping for new things, let's hope that someday we see what has been showed yet ... (Imperial City ahead)

But if you really want an answer, more daily quests would be great for starting.

    1. Separate starting areas for each race, not just each faction.
    2. Separate story lines for each class, not one story to supposedly fit all.
    3. Thieves' Guild, The Brotherhood, maybe a healers' guild of some sort; place some restrictions on players joining guilds such as "only choose one appropriate to your skill set".
    4. Smaller scale PvP; keep captures to become emperor are just stupid. There is no motivation to PvP; it's not fun. Die in a second to unseen foes with no chance to fight back, then spend five minutes or longer getting back into the battle just to die in a second again to unseen foes? Worst PvP implementation ever; no, this isn't DAoC revisited. DAoC was fun; this sucks.
This would dramatically improve replayability since there would be a lot of content that couldn't be done by a single character. There'd be a reason to have alts.

I would like to see some sort of ability system tied to alliance rank (like DAoC realm abilities) to give the ranks above 24 more meaning than just a shiny new rank icon.

I agree on balancing the combat. But it amazes me how so many think they have a better idea how the game should be. Hate to tell the people that say stuff like this but you would be getting attacked on your ideas. I think for an MMO they have got close to what a SINGLE PLAYER Elder Scrolls should be. In fact I think they may have gotten a little to close, lot of the game feels like a single player game and shouldn't.

Really interesting ideas! I would love it if there were stories for each class and race. I would be curious as to how this would work though. I would assume much like the FIghter's Guild and Mage's Guild storylines, where they are tied to an organization so they can occur in any faction. Maybe...

Dragonknight = Fighter's Guild (another story line through them)
Sorcerer = Mage's Guild (another story line through them)
Templar = Through the temples of the 8 Divines.
Nightblade = Through the Outlaw dens.

    Would be pretty awesome!
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

i think that instead of new classes, you should get class morphs. when you reach a specific level, you get to choose a different path. relativly same skills, but different elements and power animations.

sorcerer would branch into atromancy or necromancy

templar would branch to to paladin or druid/priest

dragonknight would change to vanguard or spellsword

nightblade would switch to assassin or illusionist

This is a rather open ended question. I don't know if the snark of some of the comments is what you were looking for, but even the most ardent fan would have a long wishlist of stuff they want to see added. For instance, more than half the world map has yet to be added in. I don't think it's possible for the game to ever not to be missing something more.

I don't remember if Arena had housing, but I owned several houses in Daggerfall, and a boat. Boat was almost like a pocket house because you could summon it like a horse and store things there.

I'de like joining the Morag Tong...

Or questing for some old deadric artefact. Trading with or tricking the Prince of lies...

Get rid of these teleporting shrines, they are misfit... replace them with Silt Striders and Mage guild services.

Have unexpected massive factions attack on main cities, just to wreck havok on too quiet flower gardens...

Risk verses reward. Like for instance... looting a master chest should reveal greater types of loot, even quantity as well. Pickpocketing hard npc's should yield the same. Attacking more difficult critters (boss already do I know...) as well... In other games, the harder things are, 'generally', the better items drop.

Some of the comments weren't really the things i was looking for (mostly the lag or bugs related things), but overall it gives a nice idea about what people might want to see. Some of the things sound pretty simple, yet could be awesome if they were implanted. There are quite a few things that people mentioned already that i have never thought about that myself, yet when i read it i was like... that would be so awesome.

The fissure thing @ZRage mentioned, you already have Random Deadra or stupid summoners popping up every now and then, so a small hole in the ground which opens up randomly shouldn't be too hard to make. They would need to do something with creating caves and the sorts... but overall it doesn't sound that hard.

The Teleporting Shrines @Kublakan mentioned, you see those things run by sorcerers in each Keep in Cyrodiil, yet somehow you become capable of doing it yourself in the "normal world". It would be such a small change for which they already have the NPC's and such, yet it would make it so much more realistic. Creating a small camp around those wayshrines would also make sense , as seeing just a few sorcerers in the middle of nowhere would also be strange.
They could make the Harborage the portal between the different factions. Currently you only go there for the main quest and after that you never come there again.

I don't care if you're an annoying hipster who is mad because "everyone else does it, wah", it's a good addition to the game. In fact, tie it to crafting and it would make crafting more worthwhile and help the currently stale economy where mats just pile up and collect dust in guild store listings.

    Basic Functionality

Unfortunately the game has a ton of problems here. Trophies aren't a part of collections for whatever reason, there's no searchbar for the store, quest sharing in groups often bugs up, horses sometimes won't allow you to dismount, really just a long list of little things.

    Content

I would love to see more classes, more weapon types, more skill lines, so on. That's not important at the moment though. What is important is that the game has been out for like over a year and the only new part of the map is Craglorn. The whole appeal of the game was being able to explore Tamriel, especially never before seen areas of it.

    PvP

-There's too many low population campaigns, pretty much either Thornblade or nothing.
-There's no small scale PvP, with constant zerg v zerg.
-Max level players have too much of an advantage, to the point anyone else might as well not even bother.
-Maybe that's why there's so many low population campaigns...no one below V14 wants to play it.
-Who doesn't love dying immediately then spending 10 minutes getting back to the action?
    -Just terrible implementation all around.

Being able to re-do the Molag Ball fight.

    I like that idea.
