I do remember 4/4/14, and ... hint hint ... the level cap wasn't raised to v14 until upper craglorn came out many months later so no, some people were not v14 as you say.
ZOS could implement either a hard cap, or a diminishing return on CP gain per week or something, though both have potential pitfalls. As to your bolded suggestions, killing mobs IS playing ESO normally, so why shouldn't you get CP for it?
What I don't understand is how you
1) think that is acceptable and know that you exploited and
2) are not banned
why is it exploitable? its called grinding, what he's doing is fine. he earnt it.

Of course people won't have 3600 CP in a month or so (it will take months and months before it happens). But soon some people will get enough CP to be have a too important advantage over the masses. And there is only one reason for that: grinding. Some players have already 150+ CP just a few days after the CS was released.
The gap grows and grows and grows because of:
- CP is seen as yet another VR to reach whereas it is not, and therefore people grind, grind, grind
- Normal activities in ESO such as PVP in Cyrodiil, or cleaning dungeon are not enough rewarding for the CS, so people grind, grind, grind
- The grinding spots reward too much CP
- Bugs of enlightenment
There is a huge risk of a major game breaking issue, if nothing is done rapidly to stop the grinding behavior induced by the CS.
Solution:
- Killing a mob should reward a fair amount of XP for those who level up their VR, but should reward ZERO CP - none, nada
- Increase CP earned in Cyrodiil
- Increase CP earned in dungeons when killing a boss and when completing them
- Increase CP for accomplishing the dailies
- Increase CP for accomplishing the pledges
In short:
- Grant ZERO CP for killing a mob
- Grant only CP for playing ESO normally
- Adjust the CP curve so it remains in line with your original plans
- Keep it balanced across all the activities BUT grinding on mobs
If you don't do it quickly, many people will just stop playing the game. Until this is done, I suggest that you put the CP on hold.

So you admit you knowingly exploited a bug? And smugly brag about it on the forum? I hope you reported this problem even as you took advantage of it, because if not, then yeah, you totally deserve to be banned. What I don't understand is how you

How can you not exploit a system that is so exploitable? Don't tell that if you had permanent enlightenment bug & a grind spot that gave 1 CP every 10 mins you wouldn't do it. I'd say 50% of the veteran player base used this spot and the other 50% didn't know about it. Ban us all then.
Why do you guys not just quit crying and start playing the game? What do other players cp bother you? Perhaps some may have 250+ cp....and? Others dont. The cp system is nice, when enlightment is fixed just stfu und play or just quit when you cant stand other players being stronger, better equipped or ahead in progress... People who want to grind will always find a spot, and those not grinding will always cry about ppl grinding...
This one should be applied retroactively. We fixed an issue where more Enlightenment was being given per day than intended. You will now gain one Champion Point worth of Enlightenment per day

Agree, this single day(or was it 2) has enabled people to have more then triple the cp of other people. It aint exactly fair.
