When considering our performance yesterday, please do keep in mind that having an Emperor in group makes a HUGE difference. Granted we (Misfitz) have been improving enormously over the past few weeks with our training sessions, guides, etc, there's still a long way to go!

There are four (main) different types of Emperors (that come to mind) when considering group play:

1. The tanky (usually DK) emperor who is next to useless other than he never dies. We ignore him until everyone else is dead, then melt him in about 10 seconds with focussed damage.
2. The healer (usually Templar) emperor who pumps out enough healing that he should be targeted first. He will usually die quite quickly when chain cc'ed and focussed.
3. The DPS emperor who is frightening to be near, and MUST be killed as soon as possible otherwise he can solo 5-10 enemies. I'm looking forward to seeing Mojar Stalker as emp in the next couple days!
4. The disruptor emperor who is such a pain in the *everything* that you have to work out a strategy on how to specifically deal with him.

While in the Misfitz group, I was a disruptor (my preferred play style that I've written a LOT about) fear bomb emperor and it seemed to work VERY well. We had a lot of good DPS in group, so I went for utility to better work the group composition. I was in full spell damage gear (my trials sets), pumped out a few saps for sustain when needed, and either charged or ambushed from enemy to enemy popping a fear or six (depending on numbers) while our DPS cleaned them up. 30 enemies charging into a breach full of siege with a fear spamming emp standing in the way holding block consistently killed about 20 before they could even get past the doorway.

Misfitz had two groups (Slaxis had one group with 16 people, I had the other with 14 people) when we crowned around noon ish (eastern). We were fighting against about 15 of Zazeer's crew (sorry I don't know the guild name) including the now-former emp and about 12 others that I didn't recognize. There may have been a few randoms with us, but no other organized group that I'm aware of until much later in the afternoon. I'm looking forward to testing the new siege damage! It will definitely change how keeps are taken (I expect multiple simultaneous breaches to become a *thing* ;-)

Multiple breaches on any well defended keep used to be a common occurrence. Now they're a novelty or a specific tactic.

I remember many instances on early Thornblade where, to get BRK back, EP would have to bring down whole curtain walls (all three sections mine side, for instance). AD'd be able to hold one, even two breaches, but when that third opened they just couldn't concentrate enough siege fire with 20/20 defensive siege to turn them all into murder holes and slowly but surely started being pushed back to the porch.

I suspect we'll see more of that in the future.

As for the numbers yesterday, there were 3 bars of AD by noon central. The Arrius and Farragut defenses were woefully undermanned. Some yells for help got us some more bodies by Ghartok and we kept it going for a while until overwhelmed.

And then the zaniness ensued and we got our gates closed, then back capped Alessia and got Alma Ruma back for a while.

I went to do pledges after docking Alma Ruma back in Arrius.

Such a waste of a DK, especially as emp. Who gets emp only to block and watch your whole crew get murdered. You made a fine emp yesterday, the fears were felt.

Guild name is guild of shadows, it was just 8 of us when the AD emp push started up until the last keep. There were other EP but they....didn't seem able to make the transition between outer and inner.... It's been rather frustrating since B2P.

It was a well held defense on the part of the members of Phoenix Rising and a good effort by you guys to attack. It was a great battle and from the video, you can tell how much damage was being slammed all over the place. I will load it up later tonight when I get home from work!

Don't mind the Pact zone chat on it either, it is filled with trolls whining and complaining rather than actually fighting. Though I do have to admit, it has entertainment value to it lol

You'd be surprised at how many don't grasp that there are different play styles available to them while Emperor. Too many seem to believe that being the last one alive means that they win.

Thanks! I tried quite a few things in my first hour.. Sap builds aren't enough damage (just under 5k), the DW/2H build was insanely powerful, but seemed more oriented to killing one at a time. Steel tornado / invisibats was a LOT of fun, but got boring very quickly. Since we had some of our higher DPS in group, I started trying more utility / disruption builds and the fear bomb was just too much fun.. My wife was laughing so hard at me cackling like an evil overlord while fear bombing that she almost choked on her rhum & coke a few times!

The talk is cheap part was directed at you and all those other people complaining in /zone last night and for Tripwyr.

I rarely talk in zone unless it is to coordinate or to look for PuGs. Also, when forum warriors want to call Phoenix Rising out, we have throngs of videos to back up what we do.

When i was dethroned we had a group of 6 defending BRK, i wish we had 15 =(

6 of our guild that is, there were some other players there not sure how many.

Really cant comment on Darklord's guild myself, yet to see them out in the feild of battle. Seem to be a little misdirected in what they think has value.

You missed the part around noon US eastern time today when at LEAST 60 yellow arrived and just steamrolled the map. Not pugs either. I saw members of Misfits, tertiary, alacrity, die, decibel, and even a couple from tko and khans legion.

There were so many yellow at Chalman for the dethrone that when I got kicked to character select I literally could not log back in.

the whole force flip of the flag mechanic needs removed tbqh. Zaz was deposed with literally our entire group standing alive on a flag.

Reading many of the EP names there not grouped with you, I can point out that you had at least a half raid of GoS supporting you in that fight, they come into the fight halfway through, but were on the siegeline/slope in front of the tower at the start of the video.

Names include Purry, Vortex, Legits, Jean Luc Picard, Rhaegar, and others. You see them back off when you charge the flag, stack around the back of the tower, and pop out from the far side at 2:20-2:40 or so.

So to be completely fair, you didnt beat them all on your own. In fact it looks to me like their arrival saves your group from wiping at the 2:45 mark.

Anyone that watches the video and pays attention will clearly see who is right and who is wrong here. GoS chased in the second AD group to hit you, and backslapped them before they could totally wipe you out.

Like literally look to the right around 230 and watch how it progresses. A yellow group comes into frame, then here comes a flapflap DK (probably vortex, knowing him), with the rest of GoS right behind him.

They surround the flag to the relative left side of your camera angle (facing the tower from the flag) and decimate the entire flank of the AD.

Considering 3/4 of your group at that moment was either dead or at 1/4 or less health, id call that a save.

At 3:45 - 4:00 you can clearly see there is almost a full other group of EP there with you, not standing directly on the flag. Thats GoS that just wiped out the entire yellow force that wasnt piled on the flag. I get it, you have an ego about ya regarding your guild pride, but give credit where its due.

The whole "best EP guild NA" thing at the end of your video pretty much sums up why youre getting the flak.

We got plenty of AD and DC to murderize on Chillrend. Worry about them.

Though yesterday I saw some of the most braindead DC I've seen in a while. While we assaulted Fort Aleswell, some EP pugs thought it'd be fun to set up a ram on the inner keep. My group continued assaulting the side postern. After the side postern went down, we went in, and appeared to find no defense. We cleared the flags, flipped the keep...

... and when we went upstairs we found 20 blues still trying to fend off the pug ram crew.

We collected their AP and hard a serious larf.

That was one raid. Not two.

Furthermore that assault may well have saved Alessia and protected our scroll.

Still you took down a very good emperor, so grats on that.
