Why isn't anyone pushing for more CP from the conversion?

    I am making a completely new NB when 1.6 launches so I can have a good chunk of time with the easier content adapting to the new system.

    Thanks! There are at least three threads floating around today on this XP for achievements issue so I think a lot of people would appreciate clarification.
    Ok, we can confirm that some achievements will grant XP upon completion. This is intended, and we won't be removing it. ;) Sorry for the confusion, guys!

    As for the topic at-hand, a maximum of 70 Champion Points was a number we felt was fair for the conversion and with the launch of Update 6 around the corner, it will not be changed. That said, we understand there's some concern about earning XP beyond Silver and Gold content. Outside of quests, you can also earn XP by killing monsters, going through dungeons, finishing Crafting Writs, participating in the Alliance War, and completing repeatable quests. We're also looking at increasing the XP you receive from Veteran Dungeons, but that's still a work in progress.

    ah, so basically spend 9 hours a day killing trash mobs?

    such fun.

    that or play PVP and be gimped.

    Yes, Final Fantasy XIV is a great example of a successful sub-based MMO on PC and consoles.

    It's pretty much recognized that characters over VR6 will become overall less versatile and powerful with 1.6, and that one needs anywhere from 300-900 CP gets you back to where you were before the update. Does this not bother anyone else? The original 30CP was indeed terrible, but 70 is only barely better as it still asks players to sacrifice a good chunk what they've gained since they started playing. I'm fine with all the ability changes (even if the main, niche advantage of my Argonian NB is getting shafted), but this still seems like a glaring problem with 1.6.

    ZoS has made it loud and clear that they think people who preordered, subbed without intermission and bug tested their game for a year are worthless.

    They throw us scraps and expect us to grovel and be grateful, the sad thing is the majority are. They are like slaves who are glad the master is letting them pick 2 pcs of cotton for themselves to make a bib.

    1. Wasted over a million gold buying redundant horses.
    2. Wasted hundreds of dollars paying to beta test a free game.
    3. Wasted hundreds of hours due to bugs and getting VR ranks on 5 toons that will all be taken away.

    What do I get? A cat I can ride, a moronic costume, and a laughable amount of "Crowns" not even equal to a half months sub.

    Close, but you forget destroying the trial gear we earned, and increasing the gold drop rate after 1.6 to devalue any gold we had banked. They are much more thorough in their near character wipe than you give them credit for. Characters are wiped after betas. This is as close as they thought they could get away with. Ahh, to have been a fly on the wall in that meeting and to have actually heard Matt say. "So guys, ideas on ways to approximate a character wipe for the console launch without the casuals thinking that is what we have done?" I wonder if anybody stood up and said "but Matt, you promised them their XP would be converted and they kept on playing the content and competing quests. This is immoral." Wonder if that guy has a job? Maybe they just multiplied his salary by 10x and paid him in pesos.
    I am mostly pleased with the current state of ESO. Please do continue to ban cheaters though and you guys have to find out who is duping gold and how because the economy is currently non-functional.

    Then keep track of the gain in APs after the patch goes live and add more CPs as enough extra APs are gained (keeping the rounding down conversion formula as points accrue).

    Simple, easy and fair... also very simple to code.

    If they don't do this, then they are clearly not interested in fairness, they have another agenda.

    Oh and it's not just gold is it...

    Old redundant food & drink ingredients will sell for a mere 1/15th of the vendor cost of new ones.

    Some old sets we broke our backs trialling for and/or crafting and upgrading to legendary now won't see use due to nerfs - and we don't get the upgrade materials back. This is especially prevalent for Light Armour builds and Magicka Gear builds. Also, just to remind you this is the SECOND gear respecc forced on us to remain competetive without reimbursement.

    Basically a lot of the effort you put in prior to 1.6 is negated or trivialised so they can make newcomers feel better about starting later in the game.

    Not sure that's going to work, but it sure doesn't sit well with established players.

    The Banks have learned not to only reward new account holders... you'd think Zenimax would pick up on that...

    With little to no XP for it, there's no point to repeat dungeons when it's not a daily pledge. Normal and Vet dungeon rewards aren't worth the time it takes to complete them other than for a skill point which most won't get because they've done all of them already. If we aren't going to get decent XP to apply for Champion points, then at least give dungeons better loot.

    Whilst your system would be comparatively fair to established players, I don't think it would be fair to new ones, the gap would be too great.

    It would also force people to Acheivement hunt rather than play the way they want to due to the massive difference between CP XP from playing and CP gain from Acheivements.

    I think dividing the amount by 100 is a more balanced formula, and as a player who subbed from the start and who has just under 10K APs (it would be more, but I ain't going fishing unless you put a gun to my head...) I am arguably bias to the argument to have even more CP from AP.

    But no - it would be unfair, and if I were a new player coming to the game and seeing veterans so far ahead, I'd be put off.

    Ultimately, a successful game needs and influx of new blood and good player numbers to thrive. Your suggestion might kill it off.

    That said, I think as time goes on, they will need to lower the bar on rapidly gaining APs for new players, so they can at least stay within sight of those who have accrued a great many of them.

    But that's another issue...

    What we really need is for ZOS to create a single campaign without large groups. So, you and all the other "zerg" haters can play without being offended by those who enjoy running around Cyrodiil all the day repeatedly pushing one button.
    And how, technically and mechanically speaking, do you imagine creating a campaign that will successfully prevent zergs from forming?

    Will you 1) remove them or 2) will they still be there?

    - If 1, this is unfair. You granted Skill Points and Stat Points for Veteran Ranks shortly after you announced that the VR system will be eventually removed. So you gave us something you already know you'll be taking back. What the...

    - If 2, this is unfair. How other characters below 50 level will be able to get them after VR removal? Yes, for the sake of fairness, they should have to opportunity to get them as well.

    They know the answer, just like they knew they were changing pay models for quite some time. They just don't want to answer for business reasons. I highly doubt the VR system is ever going away, so if I am right you have nothing to worry about. At best, they might rename the ranks or other surface changes but the levels, experience required to achieve them, and gear associated with those levels are not going away imo.

    1.6 has been months in the making and there are still glaring balance issues and a slew of skills that are still broken or worthless. From a business perspective, I don't see why ZO$ would want to devote months more of developer time and money towards the massive rework and rebalancing of a vast amount of items/weapons/armor when it does nothing to increase their bottom line. That time can be spent towards dlc's and cash shop items that does improve their profits.

    The majority of people who hated the vet ranks are either gone or have multiple VR characters and are not affected by it anymore. The console players won't mind the VR levels as much as they will find it more rewarding with added champion system incentives and will mostly likely have access to additional content through dlc's that older players didn't.
