Rare Items Part Deux - Dolmen and Trial Gear

After the last rare item thread I wanted to put together a new thread that has some pictures for you all to see. This should be a good resource for you collectors and help people know more about these sets. I'm 99% sure that I am correct in my explanations of the items and how to obtain them.



Purple rings I believe to be a final boss drop from AA (Warlock) and Hel-Ra (Syrabane), but you may also be able to get purple rings from the trash enemies in those trials. You can at least get the blue rings from trash enemies as well as some other items that have a low percent chance drop rate such as the Stygian Dagger from AA and the Claw of the Dragon from Hel-Ra.



These are some other items that I believe have the low percent chance drop rate. There may be more items than just these, but I am most confident that these shoulders are hard to get.



The First Titan set can be difficult to get as it only drops from dolmen chests that appear after the general Ozzozachar (Son of Molag Bal) has been defeated. The loot pool for a boss drop is actually 8 because there are the items "Ozzozachar's Claw" and "Ozzozachar's Tooth" that can drop.



The Lich set can also be difficult to get as it, again, only comes from dolmen bosses after either The Lich of Mournhold (Gedna Relvel) or the Seductive Sisters (Vika, Dylora, and Jansa) have been defeated. Defeating The Lich of Mournhold can cause the Robe and Crown of the Lich to drop from the chest. Defeating the Seductive Sisters can cause the Bracers of the Lich, Epaulets of the Lich, Dylor'as Staff, and Mask of the Darkest Seducer to drop from the chest.



These final dolmen items are just some cool extras that are popular vanity choices. Hood of the Voidguide can drop after The Traveling Dremora (Methats, Vonshala, and Sumeer) have been beaten and both anguish items have a chance of dropping once the torturers (Kathutet, Amkaos, and Ranyu) have been conquered.

Finally I'd like to tell any devs that may be reading how quite a few people enjoy collecting items. Please be careful with how you handle the changes in item levels because many people have worked hard to get the top level of item for the sets that they use. Also, maybe use the dolmen generals in some future content. It was always exciting to have a general appear and they are cool enough enemies for you to make content with.

First Titan is part "Draugr Heritage" and the first titan pieces only drop from Ozzozachar.

The rest of Draugr Heritage includes 2 staffs, 1 bow, 1 hammer, 1 axe, and 1 other chest.

Here are the circumstances that make me believe that the purple rings can come from the final boss.

I was in an AA run with a guild that I frequently run with. We wiped on the mage after I fell off the boss platform. There were no more corpses that could be auto looted by the time I got back. Upon defeating the mage a guild mate got very excited as they found the epic warlock ring. This overall situation points to the epic rings being lootable from final bosses. Is it possible that they just didn't see the purple ring in their inventory from an earlier? Yes. Do I think that the player actually got the drop from the final boss based on the circumstances, their excitement, and their certainty? Yes. Do I still think that trash can drop the purple rings? Yes.

Blue rings do still drop. 2 separate people sold me a blue ring that they claimed had just dropped last week.

Unassailable I have no idea about.

There are some examples of old/non existent items.

The first, apprentice set you talk about, I have never seen a single person, out of the great number of vets that I have played with, have.

The sword is an item that was able to be fished for during a short period of time.

As you may notice, seeing the item link confirms that the item is is game code, but doesn't show that it was ever obtainable or currently exists.

Bestial Rampart is a nice boss drop from the giant daedroth Hrelvesuu (Spelling). It is in an interesting spot because it is the only armor item that can be used for the Draugr Heritage bonus, but doesn't come from Ozzozachar. Most people end up getting a Bestial Rampart while trying to get the other parts of that set.

you can use this spreadsheet to find some cool items, but keep in mind it was generated without paying mind to what levels the items actually come in. For example there has never been a v14 Akatosh Blessing item.

if you mean the werewolf hide set, I believe that those items drop with some regularity at up to v13. There rarity may be gauged on peoples tendency to decon them rather than sell them in a guild store.

If you mean the Hel-Ra found salvation set, I don't believe any of that particular set has an item with the low % chance drop rate.

I got one of those rings a few weeks ago from Vet Elden Hollow final boss. I think those sets can drop from any of the main bosses in Vet dungeons though.

Jlucey thinks correct.

The 3 piece sets are from vet dungeon major bosses (not coa or coh though).

My question is whether or not certain sets are seeded based on the dungeon you are in. I've got my fair of same drops from the same dungeon, so as much as I would think it is randomness and the human ability to notice non-existent patterns, I have seen this occur enough, with myself and others, that I think the drops are seeded some how.

For example I have gotten shield of the man bull from the transmuted kwama boss more times than I can remember.

I got a tip that I could get the neck for that set from wayrest. I didn't, but 2 team mates did on the very next run.

Hey, good hearing from you.

Thunderous set I don't believe to be special at all at v13. It is just one of the items that you can get at that level from craglorn, like prisoners, or werewolf hide, and it doesn't seem to drop less for some reason.

The thunderous pendant, thought not rare, is a bit unique because it has a hidden enchant value of spell damage and if you re-enchant the pendant, then it will have the new enchant, but retain the old spell damage enchant. I think this is a holdover of from how jewelry enchants worked in beta.

A few in the play guild I am in got Boots of the Titan at a dolmen boss last week - and are now somewhat wealthier as a result. I didn't need mine as I have no use for that set, and sold them within about 3 seconds of getting back to town

It will not show a double enchant on the item, but it does still have a double enchant that effects the character sheet.

I've received a few of these from Cyrodiil Dolmens; however, they were only level 50 despite my character being V14.

I was under the impression one of the patches some time ago fixed the level of loot from rare bosses at Cyrodiil dolmens. Should I report these items, or are there only certain dolmens where the V10 versions drop?

That is normal. v10 is from your final area of your caldwell gold zone

the only other one I know of that is similar is the badge of the unassailable.
