Vampires - It's not enough

Just feel like there is way more of a downside to being a vampire than there is an upside. I refuse to give it up but...

    Pros:
Undeath (even though when you get to lower health you are dealing with executes anyways...)
    Faster stealthing half the time...
Fast walking while stealthed (my favorite)
A decent ultimate (there are better options)

    Cons:
    25% more fire damage
    Virtually no health recovery
So many CCs from FG abilities
Can literally be highlighted as a target
Permanent 9% more weapon/spell power damage against you
    Dawn breaker and Camo hunter...

We are always dealing with the negatives so I don't see why we shouldn't be given the recovery at all times... Undeath and sneaking is not worth the amount of extra damage we take.

In pvp, there is no reason to use it unless you play mainly stealthy sneaky type build. The extra damage floating around from camo/evil hunter and dawnbreaker make this a liability. Magicka Nightblades can get away with it from my anecdotal experiences.

Camo hunter was fixed in the last incremental patch.

So if ZOS really managed to fix this exploit mechanism, this could make playing a vamp in cyrodiil a bit more enjoyable.

We'll see how "fixed" it really is.

I've been considering transforming from a werewolf to a vampire... When I made my initial choice, vamps were weak and werewolves were overly strong... but now, Vampires keep kicking my A** all over the place in PVP... I feel like a vampire's stuffed animal.

Maybe there is just a steeper learning curve to the vampire thing.

I'm a highly fire resistant dark elf... would changing to a vamp be a waste?

Been gone awhile, 1st thing I noticed was that ridiculous feed animation is still around. So bad, embarrasing really.

If I have some special ability to make blood gyser out of my victim from 5 yards away at what looks like 10 or so gallons per minute why doesn't it do any damage?

i decided to use mist form again and i gotta say... it's freaking atrocious. for some reason it takes like a second or so to actually go into mist form after you pressed the button. if the performance is bad it takes even longer. So it feels very unresponsive. people can just target you without any problems, they can root you, mini stun you and the damage mitigation is also not working correctly. i constantly get hit for 3-4k damage through mist form. that is not 75% damage mitigation. so mist form doesn't really protect you from anything.

This skill is in a very bad state. It's the worst it has ever been.

No in fact the opposite. You'll be mitigating some of vamps weakness to fire by just being Dark Elf.

ZOS never updated the dunmer fire resistance. Back before 1.6 it was 2k, which was a big deal, cause we all had the old stats (3k health, 2.4k magicka, 2.4k stamina, 134 spell damage, etc.). Since 1.6 we all have like 10 x these stats. But the fire resistance is still 2k. so it's basically worthless now.

1% of damage is equivalent around 680 points of resistance.
Dunmer's passive gives you 2079 fire resistance. Now do the math.

Here's a thread with a similar discussion. I've made a huge post in their and don't think it's right to just repost it here. Instead of just post the thread link above. If anyone is interested in vamp balance, there may be stuff in there that may interest you.

I indeed think Vampire's need adjustment's but not a buff. As for fighter's guild, the only thing that need's to be adjusted is the 60% extra damage dawnbreaker does. Everything else is pretty balanced. More in depth discussion to my reasoning's in the thread above.

That doesn't make sense, we can't all be a vampire lord.

I just want 1-2 more skills and a rework of the existing skills, to make mist form and drain essence useful again.

Vampire lord should be a special unlock for Guilds that are "assigned" as a Coven and have at one point in time had at least 300 members.

Then it should only be unlocked for the guild owner.

300 members? Dude do you hate us roleplayers? LOL My guild typically sits at under 100 and we're considered a "huge" RP guild. Also, if only guild leaders could unlock it you'd hear the outraged screams in space! LOL

This is why I hope one day there will be a vampire and werewolf DLC. I wish they would make it so that you CAN have abilities and cosmetics that will let you mimic other strains of vampirism!

I'm a vampire also and has anybody else noticed that elusive mist does not grant you major expedition .. Very rarely doesn't work properly and retreating maneuvers grants the same amount 40% faster movement speed and people with rapid maneuvers on are leaving me in the dust when I am using mist.. Not to mention half the time the immunity to cc doesn't work and I have people running up to me and PVP without retreating maneuvers catching me and hitting me... Not to mention the 75% damage rarely works either and why wouldn't that include fall damage ... I going to mist form to jump off the castle and land with a sliver of health left ..

    Let me explain some things.

It does grant 40% movement speed everytime, but you can't run in mist form, that's why maneuvers will always be faster. The sad thing is, that you get affected by snares, which makes no sense at all. You're a cloud of mist, you should not get snared.

It does grant CC immunity, but only against hard CC's, soft CC's like roots and snares still hit you, which is really stupid, considering you're a freaking cloud of mist.

the damage mitigation really seems to be broken. there is no way people can constantly hit me with 4k attacks through mist form. And yeah, fall damage can not be mitigated by anything in the game. Would probably be a little OP if you could reduce it.

Another thing i noticed lately is, if you use mist form and drop down from a ledge or something, it will cancel your mist form as soon as you hit the ground. that is new to me.
