I know that this has already been talked to before but what new classes would you like to see ;)

    The only thing I really would like to see that was worth a whole new class would be some nature magic class.
    Three skill lines, Animal magic for pets and "stinging swarm" DoTs and CCs, plant magic for entangling vines and poisonous spore cloud AoEs, and maybe water magic for healing and support (mist cloud, etc.)

    Everything else, I think is not worth a full class, but ought to be done with an optional skill line. And I guess even the nature magic could be done that way...

    I don't want any new classes, but it would be cool to see new skill lines such as a Necromancer and magic focused on nature. However, we don't know what skills we will get with the spellcrafting.

    Even though I do love my Templar and Nightblade I am going to agree with this.

    There are no classes in Elder Scrolls, just give us a blank slate and let us pick and choose how we play.

    Not picking at you, but just throwing this out there: There were more TES games than just Skyrim in the main series. And for TES 1-4 there most definitely classes.

    Tons of freedom in how you made your character play a set class,yes. You could even eschew the pre-made classes and make your own custom class. But classes were indeed a part of TES. Heck, even in Skyrim if you open up the creation kit and take a look at the npcs, they all have some class that they are supposed to be-even though the dovahkin was full on custom.

    I wholeheartedly disagree with adding new classes from a completionist PoV as achievements/progression is mostly character bound, not account bound. What would benefit the masses is adding more class skill lines to the existing classes for more diversity.

    Wyrd yould the breton-ish name, yes. A nature-tistic class would also fit very well with bosmer, argonians, nords, even orcs going "wood orc" in style.

    Of course, like mentioned... it would be quite possible to do the same with more skill lines. And likely much easier to implement then making a whole new class...
    ...not to mention that IF they made a new class, what about the players who already played eight characters into veteran levels, but wish to try the new class too? Reroll one? Loose all those many many hours spent just to try the new class? I would hate that... thus it might require adding an class change option to the crown store, which would need more coding effort.

    Thus the idea of adding new skill lines, in an "pick one" fashion, for character diversification. Could be done with an quest you get from Cadwell after completing "Silver"... let me repost a bit:

    So I would think the best way to add more "classes" is to give each class, say, three different "class morphs", each with its own new skill/passives line. Perhaps becoming available after completing cadwells silver? Some possibilities:

    Dragonknight
    - Berzerker (self buffs, warcries?)
    - Conqueror (group buffs, standarts)
    - Pyromancer (flame resist and even more fire)

    Nightblade
    - Illusionist (illusion summoning, mind magic)
    - Monk (melee support & assorted magic?)
    - Ranger (animal summoning and magic)

    Sorceror
    - Cryomancer (ice magic)
    - Necromancer (death magic and undead summoning)
    - Spellsword (melee support & magic)

    Templar
    - Druid (plant magic, some summons)
    - Shaman (primal nature magic, totems)
    - Witchhunter (counterspells)

    (Those were just some ideas of course, off the top of my head... there might be other options...)

    I personally would love something like that to happen. It would give people added incentive to play through cadwells for the class morph, and those who already did that can just go and grab the skill line option of their choice, thus making each of the established classes into three new sub-classes, giving us all 12 "classes" to play...


    YES YES YES. This is the kind of evolution that gives depth to the game and allows different kinds of specializations. Lineage 2 has this system and has expanded it over the years/updates and it's one of the best aspects of the game.

    less classes and skills means cheaper to do and manage , people love choice so if they went along the lines of a few more classes and expanded on a few more skills per class .
    if there was a poll on bring in some of the classes in the series I think there is the answer . I would say bring it on and take me money I would pay wads to have more classes

    While I played UO for a bit in the 90's, I truly broke my teeth on the original Everquest. And while I have high levels of disdain for SOE (or Daybreak, whatever they are calling themselves now) I will give them kudos for doing two classes better than any other game in my opinion:

    Necromancer and Shadow Knight.

    Were ESO to implement this, or even an optional skill tree where you could mimic those two classes, my cold heart would grow two sizes that day.

    Id like to see:

    Necromancer - Master of undead, raising the dead, death spells, maybe poison spells
    Revenant/Mesmer(from GW2) - Master of illusions, mirror images, trickery, positioning, CC
    Barbarian - All out brawler, shouts, strength
    Druid - Master of nature, animals, environment, shape shifting
    Monk - Master of agility, movement, spirits

    I know some of these might not fit the Elder Scrolls mold, but they would be fun to play.

    Also, I know a lot of poeple think that the four base archetypes we have now are enough and with all of the different trait lines, and future Spellcrafting, we will have more than enough diversity. I still disagree. You still start as only one of four archetypes, and then try to make something unique while staying viable. Running around the world you will see 1 of 4 classes and you will know them because they will be using, most likely, one of the class abilities, and it does get boring saying "Oh theres another dragon knight", or "Oh theres another sorc".

    I always fancied class/build/gameplay diversity. The more the merrier and to me, that makes a game truly awesome.

    I would much rather see a complete removal of the current classes than even more classes. I'm all for new skilllines that everyone can use though.

    I would hope that spellcrafting would let us shape our own classes, so to speak. But as it seems they've dropped development of spellcrafting (I believe this is because they haven't figured out a way to sell it in the store and it seems pretty clear that all future content must be monetized somehow for them to even consider doing it) I think it's even less likely that they'd consider adding new classes at this point. Unless, you know, they can sell them to you in the cash shop.

    This is complete speculation and only serves to be toxic to the community.

    I don't think they would try to sell this in the store. In doing so, this would teeter on the P2W line and I dont think they want to do that. They said only convenience and aesthetic items in the cash shop. Being able to craft powerful spells that you can only get by spending real $$ in the cash shop is too controversially P2W.

    They probably have slowed down their dev of this, but again, this is speculation.

    Don't go posting things like this and create unnecessary unrest.
