...has anyone managed to do any Research yet on which sets/traits seem most feasible?

Depends on what you want to do, Im guessing you are refering to dps? As a tank I have always used stamina and heavy armor even when people told me not to. I personally like the whitestracks retribution set for tanking, though most people will of course say hist bark. I like WR for its shield that helps me stay alive longer if I get a lot of spike dmg on me. hist bark will help you avoid a lot but when you do get hit it wont help you. its a taste thing I guess, and build specific. But as said if you want dps try ravanger

Just the new scale and nerf to crit bonuses i think

Hmmm OK.
Was thinking of going for a combo of Orgnum's Scales for the health bonus and increased health recovery and Eyes of Mara for the Magicka boost, but maybe I'll try Hunding's Rage and/or Whitestrake's Retribution instead...

Before the character wipe on PTS and in PVP....I was using 7 heavy, mostly stam runes, reinforced Ravagers and Willows path(for the combat regen). I was using a 2H setup and S&B. I can tell you I felt more tank like than ever.
