Will dk dps even be viable anymore?

I only somewhat read all that PTS update cause I was at work. I am a little sad that Inferno changed because I play a Stamina DK, Close Combat all the way. I have been looking for what class lines went from Magicka to Stamina for DK.

I read somewhere as well that they would give back the skill points, since so much is changing it is only natural.

You guys win I no longer want to play the game after today. I really enjoyed playing ESO but after being repeatedly lied to by the company and harrased by people on the forums constantly about how I'm a huge whiny baby because the way I played the game, my entire build, and my character I spent 10 months building is completely watered down upsets me. Congrats on acting like jerks and driving me away.

Hmm, didn't see any nerf for DKs, must be different set of patch notes. I hardly ever need to use my ultimate, that way I'm always on full charge for when the ww calls

Why don't they just take DKs out of the game since I'm not allowed to run effective DPS with them and I can't heal with them.

The new changes are actually helping DKs be better tanks and DPSers. You get a shield with the Dragon Leap and the new Fire form grants high critical rating indefinitely. I saw a stream and it seems DKs are still in a good spot for viability.

All I saw were DK buffs in the notes and one nerf to RS. Can someone explain this thread to me?

the strongest class in the game got even more buffs, the weakest got even more nerfs.... nothing to see here

Hmm funny how this dosen't effect me cause I'm a Heavy armor wearing DK tank if anything I'm getting some nice buffs due to the new armor system in 1.6.

"I am a Dragon knight I wear heavy armor tempered to be that of dragon scales I sharpened my great sword to be that of a Dragons claw. I am a dragon knight."

So any one else got lovely poetry to say about there class. But I am gonna say this burning talons, Flame lash, and Shifting standers do need worked on.

Thread full of pve roleplayers. Say goodbye to DK dps, their purpose is to turn it into pure tank and survivability, full heavy, stamina regen maxed, spam cinder storm and block. Huehuehuehue thanks obama.

1. Cinderstorm 30% miss chance removed, also made it a throw spell check some videos it looks absolutely ridiculus with the curretn stomp animation
2. Banner cost upped to 250
4. Unstable flame costs stamina and scales of stamina, no morph to revert it.
5. Ulti change affects all classes ofc, maybe not NB's as much tbh. It does change things for alot of Dk's who made builds relying on several DOT's to tick for ulti build.
6. Reflective scales only reflects 4 projectiles as of 1.6

More or less it feels like they are targeting the "FOTM" (ulti gen builds) DK build which is very popular in PvP and ,sadly, ppl now know to counter it so some of these nerfs are just too excessive imo. But a change might be fun we will find out soon enough.

Just some nerfs at the top of my head, not judging, but they are def nerfs. However these might mostly affect PvP, I hardly PvE so I dunno.

I love Stamina DK now! Even with crappy template gear its nice! Finally able to play dualwield without feeling like a scrublord!

DK is fine. I was sceptic at first. But actually its damn good. Still need to wait for EU chars for proper testing.

This is par for the MMO course, the only difference here is that ZOS scrapped a core game feature (VR) and did some massive class re-development long before most MMOs get their first expansion, which is when this sort of thing usually happens.

I am so happy about this, i put 60 days times 24 hours into playing my dk and the only skill line a have never used is at level 6

Unstable flame is currently the core of the magicka dps dk rotation and it is now a stamina morph.


However, there are replacements.


Guys, this game has changed so much in 1.6 that it's like a new game. Current build information will not be helpful for anyone I any class. What you do now won't work. That's true for almost everyone.


Don't overreact because it has a huge effect on you. Basically everyone is in that position.

The loss of unstable flame for my magicka build was disappointing. I'm more curious how my build is going to compensate, more experimenting will be done.

Was in an AA trial with a DK last night that was pulling 1.9 to 2.8k DPS consistently on all bosses. Says it all really. Why should anyone bother DPS with any other class?

Dps numbers in aa are super inflated because fights are so short.

Look at a 10 minute parse like serpent and you see less variation between high end builds.

On PTS? 2.8k dps in 1.6 is very low.

Please enlighten me as to what other spells are needed in my rotation. Try not to be totally stupid and say elemental drain (which only one person has to apply) or evil hunter (which is a buff and not a spell itself that does damage).

So let's hear it genius, because my damage is just fine.

Played my DK in PVE and PVP and they are just as powerful as ever. With a few minor tweaks to my bars, I was loving it! Still full magic/light build I was able to cast even more than I could in normal. I'm looking forward to experimenting again, because the game as it is now, is stale.

@joejudas cmon, man. dont be so upset. im 100% sure you can adapt to a new build so effective as the older one. its a new game to everybody, so everybory need to rethink everything at the moment. you know this fourm, we are just kidding with you. but i think your op rly interesting, cos reading the patch notes, looked to me like dk got a huge buff and some minor nerfs....
