Werewolf Changes

Another step backwards for me. I remember when WW was a utter joke, 1000 ult to make your self weaker. After months and months of waiting they finally made huge changes. The blood rage passive was amazing for my tank, and even though 300 ult cost was still far too high for what you actually get it was far better than what we had at release.

I found my self being a WW just for blood rage as i never considered wasting 300 ult for 30 seconds of being rooted and kited until i transformed back worth it. That said the passive allowed me to drop my banner very fast very often. Now with me dropping banner after it's nerf and with blood rage removing ult gain i see no benefit to being a WW other than the fact werewolves look cool. Back to a blood sucking vampire i go. :/

I think you've ironically revealed the reason for the change there Orchish. The ultimate and entire skill line shouldn't exist just to let power gamers eek out another advantage.

It needs to exist so that those who want to be werewolves, have a reason to keep it on their hot bars. So in some ways changing that ultimate gain passive is a step in the right direction.

No i think you missed my point entirely, what you get for 300 ult is not worth it, not in terms of PvP. don't call me a "power gamer eek" as i am clearly not or i certainly wouldn't have been using heavy armour and werewolf since release now would i?

Blood rage was the best thing about WW, that is the sad truth.

There is now no useful transformation skill for tanks. Blood Rage was definitely worth the weakness to poison because isn't very popular. Fire is too popular for a tank to risk taking an extra 50% damage, especially after all of the vampire nerfs.

This is terrible news. Please add *some* passive in humanoid form for tanks.

A longer-term solution would be to add some new were or vampire forms. Werebears could be tank-focused were forms (armor and health boosts, taunt abilities, damage shields, etc.). The Noxiphilic Sanguivoria strain isn't weak to sun or fire, that could also be tank-focused as well.

Oh it definitely needs a buff. Keep in mind my killing spree was in a VR9 area and I'm VR14 so killing things quickly wasn't exactly a problem.

Is where I posted my feedback on the matter along with some suggestions to enhancing the WW in PVP.

Incidentally I feel that some way to handle constant stuns and roots are the biggest obstcle to making it truly effective and desirable as an ultimate in PVP. Basically giving it the same effects as immovable or having one of the howls provide a bonus similar to retreating maneuvers would alleviate the largest issue my pack and I complain about.

This is still huge though I can not wait for it to go live, I've been waiting a year for this

I didn't call you anything man. I just said that's how I see the matter of changing it from ultimate generator to something used by people who just enjoy using it.

After all, if someone's going to drop it just because it won't let them bat spam, or standard drop as often as they want to then it's obvious they only got it for the gaming advantage, and likely for PVP at that.

Incidentally you do still get the stamina regeneration passive just for being a wolf so even the power gamers have some reason to keep the skill line.

Then once transformed i managed a good 3 minute killing spree without use of the pounce morph that adds time, or any other wolves to add time with heavy attacks. Just devouring, and getting smacked kept me going until I ran out of beetles and jackals to murder.
Good to hear. I expected that with that change to the passive this would be the case. I still think WW form needs a slight buff to actually be worth using your ultimate for it, but this ability to have an extended killing spree, even if it doesn't make WW form really competitive, at least increases the "hey, this lycanthropic slaughter is fun" factor.

I was running a delve in Malabar Tor... Picked a couple chests... so those both eat half the transform in one sitting. And still ended up having to cancel out of the transform manually. (Because I needed to use persuade in dialog with a quest target.) Now, that was with devour and the morphed pounce. But, I was rarely in danger of turning back, except immediately after picking a chest.

The weird thing, at least for a M5/L1/H1, 2h/bow Nightblade, my survivability is a lot higher in wolf form. I don't know if that's because the single piece of light armor I have equipped is tanking all my damage mitigation, if medium armor was really hit that hard with the nerf bat, or if it's because I forgot to do something when buying back my skills and just don't have an optimized build on PTS.

does anyone know whether or not werewolves (in humanoid form with no ww abilities slotted) still get 15% extra stamina recovery without penalties? Or has that been 'fixed'?
