Templar Heals (Rushed Ceremony and Healing Ritual)

Hi guys,

i´m a little disappointed that Rushed Ceremony and Healing Ritual have no changes at all. Honor the Dead is still bad compared to the other morph Breath of Life and the ability Healing Ritual is still as bad as ever. I thought this patch should buff underused abilities and morphs. What is your opinion? Do you think the devs should look at this again?

looking through the patch notes, there is a lot of stuff thats seems to need quite a bit of work, but thats the reason its on the pts.
there is also some stuff that they didnt seem to touch at all which definitely needs some work, but i have no hopes these will get touched.

It is possible more stuff will be added over the course of testing. We will have to wait and see if more changes are incoming. I thought in the eso live they mentioned racial passives changing in 1.6 and those are not listed. This list could be incomplete or part 1.

The list is also missing the new Alliance War skills.

Also, with everything else changing... who knows? Perhaps previously weak skills will be viable even without any changes to the skill itself.

yeah but they have a visual update note for Rushed Ceremony. so i don´t expect a missed patch note... but we will see.

Yeah it's quite fancy and I loved it

I'm still hoping to see Honor the Dead morph become a true self heal morph which only targets the caster. And Ritual transforms into something more usefull like instant cast proc chance or strong HoT or complete overhaul idk.

healing ritual really need to be made more useful, really can't have pointless skills lying around. its just such waste atm. I would like to see every skill in game have potential viability for its own certain situation.

^^ as said above, give it an insta chance or HoT. or change it completely to say a buff for x amount of time that increases healing effects. or maybe a toggle ability similar to siphoning attacks for NB, makes your heals restore magicka but they do less ect. Temps have been in need of a way to manage magicka better, this could be it.Turn it into a utility ability or something. JUST DO SOMETHING, because as it stands no one who has a clue even wastes the skill point.

Honor the Dead has a nice concept, as it offers a magicka return, but being able to heal more allies is really important for grouping in PvE. If the magicka return was higher (and you could cast it more often) or the healing was greater it might be more tempting.

I mean, the name is "Honor the Dead" so what if, like the new tooltip for Repentance, it allowed you to "consecrate the souls of the fallen" as well? Maybe a difference to make it unique, like "sanctify the bodies of the departed". Perhaps increase the duration of the ability .5 second for every body within Y meters? It could have a cap at a maximum of 11 seconds (or credit for 6 bodies). At 11 seconds, that would be 5.5 of the two second ticks, and at max rank you get 18% magicka cost of the spell back, and, 5.5 x 18% = 99%.

Healing Ritual sounds like it should be cooler than it is, especially with the 30% boost to self heal, but that cast time can really hurt. And I don't even want to get rid of that if they would offset it with damage shields or give some other advantage.

Perhaps something like this: "Grants Major Protection while casting and applies Minor Empower to nearby allies (in the 10m radius of effect)."

[Major Protection = 30% Damage Reduction, Minor Empower = 5% Damage Boost on next attack]

Healing Ritual is so bad that I would be okay with them deleting it without replacing it. That way I wont have to worry about any of the healers I group with trying to use it.

The main problem with healing ritual is that its heal is too spiky with the 2/1.7 cast time. It is mildly useful in high sustained damage situations for 4-man (wayrest lich, darkshade kwama and poison on final boss) where you'd just cast it constantly. Even changing it to a channeled heal (spreading the heal out every .5s while casting) would go a long ways.

My opinion is that honor the dead is terribad if you are in group content and the casting time and limited range of healing ritual makes it a pisspoor and unreliable option.

Honor The Dead is bad for a lack of use/function, and Healing Ritual is bad for the cast time. It offers no incentive to sit and wait for it to finish, not when Restore Staff heals do the same thing but quicker and often better.

Honor The Dead is still a better option than non templar healers have.
