This is it exactly. Personally I don't think anyone should get an XP boost, but since we already know subscribers are getting them anyway I'm OK with having them available in the Crown store to even the playing field (as long as the Crown store one doesn't stack with the subscriber one).

No to any kind of consumable, any kind of stat boost, any kind of armour that isn't just cosmetic, weapons, crafting motifs.

Yes to costumes, mounts, maybe some housing items if they give us housing.

In short - store should be fluff only.

Wow, is that what they still go for on the EU server? I haven't checked there in many months... On the NA server I'm used to seeing them go for about 200 (which is a far cry from the 2000 price tag they seemed to have shortly after launch).

In most of my Guilds (EU server) there's a heap of basic motifs available for free in the guild bank

Actually, they made their own post asking people what they would like and wouldn't like to see in the store.
So I would say it's safe to assume; they are at least showing they try to care.

Same reason some companies sell organic or put made in America on their products. Selling ESO as a B2P game and avoiding a P2W senarios is an important piece of the company's identity and marketing. This means letting them know what we want to buy, because if they are busy with that and making money, they are a lot less likely to make this into a P2W. If we say nothing and just let the whales sing, it's more likely they will just cater to them.

You're the customer and they need to earn money to maintain the game and develop it, so voice out what you're willing to pay for.

First off, I hate cash shops across the board. But, if a cash shop is inevitable, then a few suggestions as a veteran MMO'er, and as a new ESO player:

The single biggest thing to avoid in a cash shop is RNG. No locked boxes with a chance of getting the item you want. Just let us buy the item we want. RNG cash shop items will quickly convince many of us to boycott the cash shop entirely. If you need a current example, see GW2's cash shop. Their use of RNG is ridiculously blatant and convinced many players to leave the game.

For any item type added to the cash shop, similar items should be available as rewards for playing the actual game content. For example, if an orange/black Senche mount is added to the cash shop, add a rare white Senche as an epic drop to a dungeon's loot tables. The item in the cash shop is still unique, but the player doesn't feel forced to use the cash shop, and can still feel 'epic' for playing the regular game.

Don't add all new cosmetics to the cash shop. There need to be meaningful rewards out in the game world. Again, using GW2 as an example, a large portion of the playerbase ended up using the game as a fashionable chat room, standing around in the trading hub (Lion's Arch) and doing nothing. This created a huge population issue out in the world, all because the cash shop provided the real rewards, so there was no reason to venture out into the game.

As for specific items that should or should not be in the shop:

Absolutely nothing that adds to a character's statistical progression should be included in the cash shop.

Gear sold on the cash shop should be exclusively costumes with no stats whatsoever.

No motifs or recipes or any other item that is currently a significant portion of the in-game economy. For some players, playing the market IS the game, but a weak in-game economy hurts everyone that uses it.

No dyes. The current unlock-via-achievement is the only system I've seen in an MMO where the color of someone's armor could actually be something to be proud of, rather than RNG or gold grinding. Keep the achievement system and don't mess it up by putting dyes on the cash shop.

DLC should absolutely be available via crowns, not just cash purchase. That way subscribers can choose to use their subscription crowns to permanently unlock content.

Inventory expansions should remain purchasable with in-game gold and not crowns. Inventory is a huge concern in any game, and especially in ESO. Having enough space for in-game loot is not something that should be restricted behind a cash shop pay wall.

Vanity pets and mounts are fine in the cash shop, as long as they are kept relatively equal between the cash shop and in-game rewards.

Account services such as character renaming, character customization overhauls, character slots, etc. can all be part of the cash shop, as they are conveniences provided to the player.

No TL;DR, but I bolded the important stuff. ;)

Based on this thread that they put in the Developers Discussion forum, and the fact that they have directed other threads in General Discussion to this one in order to keep the feedback consolidated, yes of course they do. Now I wonder why they might care what we think should and shouldn't be put in the store?

Oh right, that's why! Because we are their customers so they want to know what sorts of things we are willing to pay for, and what sorts of things will make us quit and make them lose subs. It's really a very simple concept.

    Should be in store.

    Dye packs - as mentioned
Name change contracts - as mentioned
    Hair style kits
    Faction change
    New mounts
    New types of horse armor
No issue with boosts as long as they are not permanent (thinking gw2 boosts). 30 minute boost to speed, power, armor, xp.
    Character slots
    Bank tabs
Housing or house decor as mentioned
    Armor skins
    weapons skins
    Pets
    Character overhaul kits
    New classes

Bank Tabs need to stay out of the Cash Shop. Anything you can get with in-game money needs to stay separate of which you can get in the Cash Shop.

Allowing Bank Tabs into the Cash Shop would be telling Zenimax other things in game are free game. And that under the guise of 'this is for those that dont want to work for it' the Cash Shop will most definitely slip into P2W. Its things like this that always cross the line and soon after pave the way for more items that take advantage of the community.

Three biggest things the Crown shop needs imo.

    1.) TARGET/PRACTICE DUMMIES
So raiders and theorycrafters can go and test builds/gear/proc rates/weaving on their own, at their leisure, when it is CONVENIENT for them.

    2.) NAME CHANGE
While it was funny at t the time, who wants to be named "Lonely Girls Cucumber" forever, paid name changes are a must.

    3.) FACTION CHANGE
Because if you are focused on "convenience", what could be more convenient than allowing us to play with friends in other factions with our only character if we want. Once you have 290 skill points/12k achievements and 100 days played, re-rolling isn't really an option, especially for people with day jobs.

Yes. So this is why it's better to still buy DLCs even if you're ESO Plus Member, so you'll have the access to them, when decide to give up your premium membership. Not the most elegant solution, because you're double paying for the same thing then, but the best one so far.

In my opinion, these things should be available for purchase in the Crown store:

Items currently available for purchase from vendors.

Fair enough. Not even worth putting into the store though because why pay $5 for a stack of soul gems when I can get the same for in-game gold a lot cheaper?
Pets, Mounts, Character Slots, Dyes and DLC

    Of course.
    5. Barber shop services (people have been asking for ways to change the way their characters look for a long time)

No. The reason I say so is because this should be available in-game to everyone for a small gold fee, it's not something you should have to pay real money for. You should never have to pay real money for such a standard feature.
    7. Maybe motifs and recipes. The common ones for sure, but I'm undecided on whether purple and gold motifs and blue and purple recipes should be available in the Crown store.

ONLY if they are bound to your account upon purchasing. Otherwise the market would be ruined. I'm still not fond of the idea though.
Imperial isn't pay2win, all races are equal.

    1. Someone obviously doesn't min-max.
    2. I don't really care if it is or isn't. Classes and Races should never be locked behind a paywall.
