Any Viable Grind Spots?

I love how grinding a spot is "exciting," but doing rich story-filled quests is "boring."

Also thanks to those who are helping ZOS out with fixing portions of the game by posting grindspots. :P

If you think the story quests in this game are rich and story-filled, you sir have incredibly low standards and clearly have never played any good games before.

Did you come here because of Skyrim and was it your first TES game? This would explain a lot.

Hum... this is actually a matter of personal taste. Some people do like the lore of ESO and the available quests, some do not.

    Agreed.

I happen to think the quest writing in this game is exceptional. And I have nothing against people who want to grind. I do have a problem with people who think they should get more XP for grinding than for doing any other XP-earning activity in the game.

Virtually any mob spawn is a viable grind spot. I did V1 to V5 in Auridon(V1 for DC) gaining around 400k an hour in a fairly small zombie spawn in the middle of the zone. A bonus of grinding V1 mobs was the 4 or 5 V1 Warlock rings that dropped.

I did V5 to V7 at verdant morass in Greenshade (V3 for DC). Probably a steady 450k xp/hr.

Melee mobs, preferable undead (for evil hunter and fire weakness), and you are set with any decent aoe spec. I recommend waiting until v7-8 (and being geared appropriately) before trying spellscar, but honestly, spellscar isnt all that amazingly better than anywhere else that offers large packs of mobs.

You've also done nothing to address the point that people who are just running around and pressing 'E' in random locations feel entitled to the same rewards as people who want to defeat lots of mobs \ villains. The players choosing to 'grind' are actually putting more effort into playing the game by dealing with situational tactical challenges, instead of simply reading what is in effect a 'choose you own adventure book' written at a 5th to 6th grade level.

You're kidding me, right? Grouping up with another player and running into a pack of 5-6 mobs and pressing your AoE button as fast as you can, IS HARD??? Because that's "grind"ing. If we are being fair shouldn't ZOS take away half of the exp from those that were grinding before the nerf. Kind of puts some people in a bad spot. They completed all of the quests and now have nothing left to do but grind. So, they buff quests and nerf grinding which screws them over. Why not just leave the grinding the way it has always been. Let's be fair to everyone.

Nope, Skyrim was not my first Elder Scrolls game. I came here because of Elder Scrolls, which is rich in lore, not standing in a spot all day taking advantage of xp gains.

Though you seem to have come to just find shortcuts and ignore almost all of the game. Is this your first Elder Scrolls game?

There are others but nobody will share because if we do ZOS will nerf :).

I really don't have 2 cents to put in on the rest of this( Grinders grind, Questers quest, Crafters craft. Whatever.) But wouldn't ZOS be able to tell internally where large numbers of people are grouping and blasting through the same mobs over and over, anyway? I would think data on that stuff would be kept and reviewed regularly. So even if it was just your guild going there or something, they could still tell something was up.

I could be wrong. Just seems like something that would be kept track of.

That's what they do, it's why you see any instanced grind nerfed fairly quickly.

However, if people (like me) want to grind open world mobs, the only thing ZOS can do is either nerf open world mob XP (screws everyone), or nerf spawn rates (again screws everyone, and probably wouldnt be particularly effective ).

Dear Zenimax, I love your game, but I do not want to do the quests for every v1-14 zone again on this new alt. Please excuse this post asking other players if there is a viable Craglorn grind available currently, as you have nerfed all the ones we loved so dearly.

If anyone knows of good grind spots please mail me in-game (@Brizz53) as it would probably get nerfed quickly if you responded in this forum with it.

    Thanks

IMO Caldwell's Silver and Gold is the easiest way to VR10.

After you finish all of those, you unfortunately don't really have any quests left except for Craglorn and Cyrodil repeatables.

There's a lot of places in Craglorn to solo. I do this to top off skills on my VR14 as it's really the only way to go for leveling skills once you've done all the quests.

    1. Grind Spell Fiends in Spell Scare. There's 3 areas and most people only find the one with the Frost Antronarchs, but there's also Fire and Storm areas.
    2. Scorpions and Welwa in the open world are pretty easy to kill. Groups of Orcs are harder but not impossible.
    3. A lot of the Delves are actually soloable, even if you can't do bosses the XP is good off of the trash mobs.

If you find it too hard to solo grind in Craglorn, then find a grind partner. Most stuff is pretty easy to duo.

PvP is another viable option for leveling. If you play and enjoy PvP you'll level at a decent rate.

Cool, thanks for the answer. I figured they tracked it all. In that case, my grindy spots will stay secret.

For the record, I quest too though. Too boring sticking with one thing for more than a couple hours at a time, even if the xps from some things are a bit less.

There are plenty of good spots to grind in Craglorn. You won't level faster than you will with questing. You'll level at about the same pace.

You are full of crap. I still do about 700k per hour grinding. Questing is far less. Either you have no idea what are talking about, or you are way too deep in ZoS arse. Like you always have been.

You can still grind and level a lot faster as questing. Spellscar = 500k - 700k per hour.

If no one else is there grinding.

When it's busy, it is pretty slow, which is why I move into delves.

Also, it's really boring. When cranking, I was doing about a zone a day in Caldwell's gold and 1 VR level each zone. I'm not sure how much this has slowed down since the update though because I was doing Craglorn by the time it hit.

If you weren't referring to exploits, then you weren't referring to any of the grinding spots that were modified by ZO, as those were all exploiting bugs in the code.

What was the exploit at Spellscar?

I wasn't aware that Spellscar had been touched. I saw people running through that area earlier today, actually.

And again, if any changes have been made, it's been to get grinding on a level with questing. I fail to see the problem.

Spellscar hadn't been nerfed except by having 5x too many people in it to be worthwhile.
