I have been playing ESO for roughly 40 hours total, with one character.. And I just dinged 20 today. I'm fine with this pace, honestly, since the leveling in this game doesn't feel like I should rush through everything like I do in some other MMO's. There's so much to explore, I don't see the point in rushing things.

Sure, play the way you like, but I think the leveling speed is okay. Not too slow but not too fast either.

I think one of the most important things while voicing a complaint is being polite to the people you're trying to reach...
If you get here just screaming your opinion and - instead of saying things COULD BE BETTER or things like that you're saying THIS IS WRONG, THIS IS STUPID etc...

    Then...

    BEEEEEEEEP! Idiot.

PS: I'm not voicing a complaing against you so I'm not being polite.
PPS: But I'm honest about it!
PPPS: Gina, if you come here to warn me/edit my post, know that I love you!
    PPPPS: Just kidding

the devs is trying to make the leveling longer and for each nerf of leveling spots they nerf. Even some of you even have to feel that part.
And now they nerfed that RZHUSDASDJAD place were you play 2 ppl from 15k exp to 1800 exp. hope you all that like to grind your chars enjoy :D

Sorry ESO writers, the stories are cool but this player doesn't care, so maybe you should delete everything and make all players start at VR14.

    [/sarcasm]

Maybe you should play WoW, they have an insta-lvl90 thingy, it seems to be right up your alley. ESO's quests are very nice and xp shouldn't change at all imo. It's all balanced now. :)

    Hmm,

Someone is new to MMOs and only knows WOW.

Thank you for letting us all know that ESO is the wrong game for you. I wish you good luck in your search of WOW 2.0.

I'll throw my hat in this WoW bashing because personally WoW was one of the best leveling experiences I've ever had in an MMO.

A quest based leveling system with an absolute ton of quests and locations. So many that one play through was not enough to see them all, not to mention tons of exploration with rewards and quests that were off the beaten path. You could level an alt then a second and take them to completely different zones where you would have new quests to complete, and a new story to experience. Then swap factions and level another 3 characters and have even more quests and stories!

I cannot fathom why someone would think ESO's system is better. If you do every single quest in every single zone as you level you will not hit level cap. And guess what else? Playing an alt on any faction will net you the exact same leveling experience.

I love this game but I feel like some people just cannot admit its faults. Quest leveling in this game is great 1-50, it gets a little tedious v1-v14 but after that, it is the exact same thing every single time.

Especially with the game so endgame focused it's a double whammy.
If you want to PvP in other MMOs you get put into a bracket for others at your level. ESO doesn't do that. As for endgame PVE progression ESO has basically become a "v14 or GTFO!" Experience. Since endgame is where most players spend most of their time playing it seems strange that ZoS has made it so difficult, to get there, and completely dull to get there on an alt.

ESO might not be the right game for you.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

I'm pretty sure people grind Spellscar now. I've seen some of my friends go from vet 1 to 14 in a matter of days on their new alts; if that's not fast enough for you, well...I'm not sure what to say.

Also, what you say is your opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed leveling through all those zones, read every single line of dialogue and actually kinda miss it now when all I have is "endgame content". Your opinion is every bit as valid as mine though, so those like you can grind Spellscar and those like me can enjoy the storyline(btw, if you actually read it, some quests are really cool).

spellscar can only sustain 4 people or in other words one group.

It seems like every Developer of MMO think that the leveling from 1-Max is the funniest part in the hole game. And then now it can't be fun enough so we make it even harder to level that will make ppl stay in the game longer.
    BEEEEEP WROOOONG !!!!

Well if the End game is PVP and Trials, then the stuff before that probably is the most fun.

Please note I'm not saying that dragging it out is a good idea, just that the levelling for some of us is the fun part.

Leveling may be part of the mmo as it is now but its the end game that lure the gamers not the actual leveling. Leveling as i see it is a part of the game to learn the character and maybe to explore the world but not to make it so slow that is nearly impossible to level.
I have only just reached VR after playing since May playing 25+ hours a week. I have no interest in the End Game Content. I know I am not the only one, either in the game or in this forum. If it were about PvP and what you call End Game Content I wouldn't play.
    Volla wrote: »
Leveling shall not take 20 hour per level but rather 2 hour per level....
I play about 3 hours each week night and level up once every night and I'm not grinding so your facts are just wrong. If every level cost 1.5M points like VR then I might agree.
    Volla wrote: »
There is also ppl that like to solo and it should be some end game stuff for them as well.
Well, at least there's something we agree on.

Personally i can't give a flying **** in the story.... I only play the PvP as its the only thing of value in the game for me.
Thank you for your opinion based solely on your desires and pleasures. I have no interest in PvP and I know of others who feel the same, but I do not begrudge others their desire for PvP.

    # Edit: To explain the 25+hours per week and the 3 hours per level I also point out I have 16 characters (but I am not an Altoholic!)

I think the hardest factor in producing and maintaining any type of MMO is that the developers have to try and balance the wants of many, many players.

While I personally like slower leveling games, I do understand that many people have very limited time to play online due to RL and that our modern lifestyle is built around speed, especially in anything techno.

It would be nice to have areas where players could 'level' faster, but I don't know if such a system is sustainable or desirable. :)
    Cheers Alderak015 :)
