Levling system is broken

It seems like every Developer of MMO think that the leveling from 1-Max is the funniest part in the hole game. And then now it can't be fun enough so we make it even harder to level that will make ppl stay in the game longer.
BEEEEEP WROOOONG !!!!

Leveling may be part of the mmo as it is now but its the end game that lure the gamers not the actual leveling. Leveling as i see it is a part of the game to learn the character and maybe to explore the world but not to make it so slow that is nearly impossible to level.

If you don't have good end game content the people will leave eventually because the game is boring. ( True story )

Another issue is the places were now the ppl been powerleveling got nerfed, for those who don't like to questing it have to be an alternative way. It is not up to you as a developer to decide what path the player will take, your place is to give us the players the alternative ways to level, earn gold etc. Not nerfing every spot that was good for something in the game of the task that he/she may choose. This will surely kill the game more and more for every time you remove something that was good.

Solution :

1. Leveling shall not take 20 hour per level but rather 2 hour per level because its the end game that counts nothing else.
2. Make some good grind spots for gold, and crafting resources so ppl can have specific goals and be able to accomplish it in a reasonable game time.
3. There is also ppl that like to solo and it should be some end game stuff for them as well.

Personally i can't give a flying **** in the story, i just want endgame content ( if its fun, and it's not ). I hate to level it is the most boring *** in the MMO's, but i take it as its part of the game style. I only play the PvP as its the only thing of value in the game for me.

Your opinion is your opinion. I, for one, enjoy doing content on the way up. I doubt that you, or anyone really, has nay numbers to back up any sort of assertion that the majority of people just play for the end game.

Also, at what point of the game is it taking you 20 hours to gain a level?

The OP's play style is every bit as valid as mine. I'm a completionist. The complaints are valid, particularly as far as vet goes. My Vr 4 is in Shadowfen. I've done well over half of the content and have gained less than half a level.

I am leveling several characters right now (or would be if the game was up). And I'm gaining levels at a decent rate. Again, at what point are you running into the problem?

im not saying i got problem. i'm already vr14 loong time ago.
they changed the system so it takes now 8 times longer to level VR levels than before.

They also removed all grinding spots ppl had to either level/grinding... i dont just get it who in the dev team comes up with these Fanatic decisions.

I disagree. I love mmo's for their story, quests and levelling. I like to explore the world and save some people while doing so. I have no want or need to finish the content so I can do pvp or the same raid every day.

As well, if you enjoyed the content, explored, and didn't race through the quests I imagine you would have no issues with levels. With my vr I consistently hit the next level before heading to the next zone.

Oddly enough, leveling has been faster for me after the patch.
Maybe just because I have more experience with the class and have been
through the zones before and been grinding mobs to level up skills I never tried
    before.

So wait a second...you're saying that you're not actually going through the content because you're already VR14, but that it's taking longer to go through the content? How would you know if you're not doing it?

My leveling at the VR ranks is about the same post 1.5x as it was before, around 1 VR Rank per zone, a little less actually in some zones. From 1 to 50 leveling was just fine as I stayed with the content.

If your goal is end game, then leveling can get in the way of that for sure, but that is the goal you make for your self, it is not imposed on you by the game. You can get to PvP at Level 10, so there is no need to get to the max level if that is what you want to do. Trials may be different and need a more experienced character, but that is what, 4 dungeons out of all the rest of the content?

i did all the quests almost, i even did the big Caldwell's Almanack quest with the blue neck reward and no skill points... totally pointless, if i knew that i would stop as soon i entered the last faction.

Your in the wrong cave. I can get 10K+ an hour from just about any public dungeon that is near my level. I would even get 6K to 10K an hour from Mehrunes Spite a small delve in Auridon VR instance, this from vendoring loot and after repairs.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm pretty sure people grind Spellscar now. I've seen some of my friends go from vet 1 to 14 in a matter of days on their new alts; if that's not fast enough for you, well...I'm not sure what to say.

Also, what you say is your opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed leveling through all those zones, read every single line of dialogue and actually kinda miss it now when all I have is "endgame content". Your opinion is every bit as valid as mine though, so those like you can grind Spellscar and those like me can enjoy the storyline(btw, if you actually read it, some quests are really cool).

Once I'm through the levelling and reach the end-game, if there's not much end-game to have, I leave. Therefore, the levelling should take as long as possible so I'm playing for as long as possible.

Also, if you don't give a flying [snip] to the story, then Elder Scrolls may not be for you. Elder Scrolls strongest aspect is their story.

For the record, 2 hours per level is accurate (as it's supposed to be 100 hours to do 1-50), and 20 hours per Veteran Rank is also about right as there are 10 times less ranks per the same amount of content. (1-5 instead of 1-50.)

imo the end game pve content is as boring as looking into a wall but the Pvp in Cyrodiil is fun now since they removed the forward camps.

I think the levelling is fine the way it is. I'm working my main through the vet ranks. I'm trying to see how long it takes me to get her up one vet level just doing Craglorn quests and running around that zone.

I do enjoy the quests, though and I still have a lot of them to do.

Although the OP is somewhat incoherent his message is still understandable. VR leveling by questing now is faster than VR leveling by questing before. But the process of reaching max level is still too onerous especially for those who want to be effective in pvp (remember we can enter pvp as early as level 10). The equivalent of 150 levels worth of questing (more when considering VR10 - 14) is extreme by any measure. To make it worse, there is no other way to earn XP (and to some extent gold) other than by questing. ZOS removed the only good way to level quickly for those of us who cannot stomach so much questing (I get through Cadwell's Silver and that's it, that's all I can stand).

You know, we (who can't stand this much leveling) didn't f**k up this game with the obviously bad idea of the VR system. We just dealt with it the only way we could. ZOS f**ked it up. They should not be punishing us because they screwed it up. I know the Champion System is their fix for VR but that is still 3 months away. In the mean time we still should be able to quickly grind if we wish.

If you like to quest, fine, quest to your hearts content. But please don't impose your desire on the rest of us.

    This is luckily your opinion.

If it were for me leveling is way to fast. I love the development of a character, I enjoy playing with the options.

I completely abhore grinding and doing end-content again and again and again..
If I wanted to do factory work I'd do that.
I've left other MMO behind as there was nothing but end-content and grinding just a few quests (wich, compared to some in this game, didn't even deserve the name quest)

    You didn't read carefully.

About pvp (which is where I have been, mostly), I said "effective". The fact is that easily over 90% of the people in pvp are VR 14 - beneficiaries of the previous system. Those of us who are not are hobbled in our ability to catch up. ZOS made this mess, not us. We should not be made to suffer the consequences while we wait 3 (probably more) months for the CS.

Spellscar is not all that great. At least compared to what we had. Besides, ZOS has made it clear they don't want grinds. If they come and make a gesture (like restoring crag grinds) that indicates grinding is OK, then fine.

I would say because of the upcoming champion system. If they can get rid of grinding, and make all forms of play equal in gaining champion points (including pvp) then this whole concept of "I need to be max level to compete" will be gone and players can do what they want and still feel like they are advancing.
